  1. Even more, I'd like to see how the resistance started. It seems like a bit of a grey area in the series. Plus, we could still use Eli and Kliener and everyone, so there'd be no problem!
  2. This could help: http://discover.mst.edu/2010/12/saving-the-world-with-green-slime.html
  3. Seeing that makes me want to have a Freeman soundboard. It would be amazing. That said, yeah, it would be awesome to see Freeman's Mind for Half Life 2. I wonder what will happen first. Ross getting to the end of Episode 2, or Episode 3 getting released? It's kinda a tough call...
  4. Yeah, I think the problem with Beyond Black Mesa was that A. It was more action than sci-fi thriller (I mean, there weren't even any scientists!), and B. That hologram thing. The rebels never had that! They're technology was pretty much held together by duct tape and bailing wire. They didn't have no fancy holographic displays! They had maps and pencils! That said, a story about how the resistance started (possibly involving Shephard) would be really cool, though... As for the Fallout one, it was pretty much amazing. Just dead on with the story. Especially the merchant guy! He was like Jim Varney if Jim Varney were a post-nuclear-armeggedon cannibal merchant. Also, the ghoul was done really well.
  5. DKC2! FRICK YEAH! Easily my favorites of the Donkey Kong Country games. As for first PLAYED, I dunno... I usually play games at my cousins' houses, because they could afford them sooner, and I can't all remembered what I played, just that they were on the NES...
  6. So yeah, I imagine that most of us here are fans of Freeman's Mind, and rightly so, because it's hilarious. But are there any fans here of it's various derivatives? Like Shephard's Mind or Barney's Mind or the like? Or are those generally looked down upon to you guys? I myself admit that I kinda like Barney's Mind and Shephard's Mind. Chell's Mind was fairly decent, too... Actually, Shephard's Mind has gotten pretty good as of late. He's definitely been getting the whole, uh, like acting or whatever down. As in, moving the character in logical ways... Or something... That said, the other, non-Valve Minds don't tend to get my attention. Nor do Minds that aren't just the game but some sort of setup, like Felix's Mind. Any thoughts of your own?
  7. I can listen to this forever! Maybe it would make a good ringtone?
  8. I don't think the series will end after Episode 3. It just seems like there's way too much to tell than can fit in 6 hours. The way I see it, Episode 3 will conclude the stopping of the Combine on Earth, while Half Life 3 (when and if it ever comes to fruition) will involve taking the fight to them. At least, it makes sense to me...
  9. You've read Mysterious Island?! It's one of my favorite books! I just got it at a bookstore, recently, too! I'd read it before but never owned it... As for others I like, The Hitchhiker's Guide series, other Verne classics, of course, and some of Orwell's stuff... I'm not much into fantasy, though... Mostly just sci-fi...
  10. Oh cool. I guess I should explain what they are first... Homestuck - A story set up in the form of a text adventure game (but with pictures... And flash animations w/ music) about 4 kids who play a game that has some huge consequences. Be warned, this thing is like 3000+ pages long already (it's only started 2 years ago) and updates like 5 pages a day. Plus it's one of the more confusing stories out there. This isn't like one of those comics that updates like maybe once a month. This is quite the opposite. This is also my favorite in the list. The Adventures of Dr. McNinja - A comic book style comic about an Irish ninja doctor and his 12 year old mexican gunslinger sidekick named Gordito who grew a mustache out of sheer force of will and rides a velociraptor named Yoshi. While it may sound ridiculous (and it certainly is) it actually has a really good story, excellent characters, and hilarious moments. This isn't just lol random awesome things happening for no reason like Axe Cop, this is an actually structured story that is simultaneously ridiculously awesome. A HUGE recommend. XKCD - Pretty well known. Stick figure comic about science. Not AMAZING, but certainly amusing. About as nerdy as it gets. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, though. Especially if you're not a computer person... Brawl in the Family - A gag comic that updates twice a week about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Most early jokes revolve around Kirby eating silly things and him changing into humourous forms. After that, though, it certainly has some clever humour, and a certain charm if you're a Nintendo gamer. Dinosaur Comics - A rather strange comic that has the same 6 panels everyday, just with different text. Not nearly as bad as it sounds. Mostly about complex philosophical arguments brought down to hilariously simple levels. Not an archive binge-worthy comic, to be sure, but a nice thing to look at every day. Again, not for everyone. F@NB0Y$ - A gamers on a couch comic done right. Has humourous characterization mocking the 3 main types of console fanboys (well, one is a girl) and fairly interesting stories. Two of the side characters are a PC gamer and a table top gamer, but they don't show up too often. Not the best on this list, admittedly, but again, it has it's own little charm. Also, it's not exactly updating much anymore, maybe only once or twice a year at most. Worthy of a look at, at least... Concerned - One of the best Gmod comics I've seen. Follows the adventures of one Gordon Frohman (That's FROHMAN!) as he bumbles his way through the half life 2 universe. Has a lot of humourous lampshade hanging of the series, as well as a generaly goofy sense of humour. If you've sworn off Gmod comics for good, then you might not like this, but it's certainly fairly well done, and uses the Gmod tools very well. Already finished.
  11. Wait, Fall? I thought it was coming out in April! Or are you in some screwey corner of the globe that gets games well after everyone else, like Australia or something? If so, it's gunna suck having to wait several months for Yahtzee's take on the game... Oh well... Now to just get a computer that can run the bloody game... At the moment, it can just barely play Half Life 2, and even then the shading is messed up to heck...
  12. DERP! Anyway, how about that Half Life 2: Episode 3? Sure is mysteriously non-known about! Any ideas what's taking so long? My bet is on the first part of the game being by helicopter, akin to other vehicle parts of the series. Naturally, this has probably taken a while to implement. And so this thread actually has a use that's not just complaining about Valve time, I guess we can discuss Portal 2 as well, what with them technically being in the same universe and all... Who all's excited about that?
  13. So, this being a forum loosely involving video games that is on the internet, I'm sure there are a good few number of people here who are fans of webcomics. So I guess that's why I'm making this. So I suppose here is a nice place to discuss developments about/gush over your favorite webcomics. My personal list of favorites: Homestuck (And MSPA in general, really) The Adventures of Dr. McNinja XKCD Brawl in the Family Dinosaur Comics F@NB0Y$ Concerned (One of the best Gmod comics I've seen) Anyone else?
