  1. Bah! And I thought someone said - no hugging! Regards
  2. Oh, Jeb! *stares at his reddened and tingling palm* It's alright - I knew I deserved that slap... Guys, thank you so much for your welcoming words! It mean so much to me. Congratulations, Rarity! I see you are now a sheriff here as well! I hope you'll manage to get some sleep, though. AP, thank you! I hope so too! Heh, long time no see, buddy... Regards
  3. I have to say the Western position on ISIS and Syria is so frustrating to me. Schizophrenic really. America wants to have the cake and eat it. It wants to keep ISIS under control but doesn't want to kill it - because they want to keep Israel and Saudis happy. They want to kill Assad in order to piss in the Russians' soup but are afraid of both Russia and Iran and, of course, they can't control ISIS without Assad and the help from Iran. In the meantime, the whole pro-Western population of Syria is on the move to Europe, which will have the effect of leaving only the radicals there and also will create havoc in Europe for decades to come. As it so often happens: America (+ the UK) start brewing the crap in the Middle East - then let the Europeans rip the consequences. It is getting old really quickly. Regards
  4. Aw... thank you. I blushed before - now I'm afraid of turning all red and melt through the floorboards... And, no, thankfully I didn't murder anyone... Though, the things that caused me to disappear from here, you know - I don't want to ever go through and cause other people to go through such things again... That was not nice. But, wow, so many events! And mostly good, as I can see. I hope you're OK too - "crisis" doesn't sound good. Glad to see it's over, though. I think you're right - better avoid hugs for now! Wouldn't want you to be charged with manslaughter on my account. Regards
  5. Ah, sorry, guys... I'm not really that good with all that "coming back from the cold" thing... Never done it before. So, please excuse me if this all sounds a bit lame and confused... I apologise for having left so abruptly. I had a... tough personal situation. My fault entirely but to fix things I've made some commitments and so I could not remain on the forum for these past few months. Oh my, so much seems to have happened in the meantime! It will probably take me a month just to catch up... Anyway, I'm so glad to be back. I missed you all. Regards
  6. Your imagination produces rainbows - it's your Imagination - Improvisation, isn't it? I took the liberty to work on your Darkness - done it some time ago, only now got round to posting, sorry... There is a rendered version on the Soundcloud too - here And the midi... Hope you guys like it... Eh, so much stuff to go through, will take me ages, I guess Regards P.S. Oh, I see there have been additions to the moderators team - congratulations! Darkness_final.zip
  7. FWIW, I, for one, prefer 3D movies to not be totally in-your-face, full of kitchy effects and things. I like moderation for lengthy 3D content - makes the immersion easier. And I love 3D. I mean, if the same movie is shown flat and in 3D I would normally go to see the 3D version. This whole subject is still so polarising, it's funny Regards
  8. I hereby grant you my Royal Assent to finish your composition forthwith. We will discuss your further duties afterwards. I'm pretty sure it was you. Regards
  9. It's Pythagoras theorem - I know that Regards
  10. To break the streak of mockery - how about some beauty? 4lGK2oFWMgI Regards
  11. Check. Check. And check, again... Oh, dear. Regards
  12. I generally have good memories of my school days. I didn't find school stressful at all. Comparing to the rest of my days so far that was a fairly relaxed vacation What I see in the modern UK system though does not look good to me on a number of accounts: - in my days in Russia, schooling started from the age of 6 or 7; kids didn't need to even be able to read at that point, yet - within the 1st year everyone was reading and writing. - in the UK they are now introducing mandatory tests for 4 year olds! That is just too damn early. And I'm sure that some children - no matter how hard you drive them won't reach literacy any faster than if they'd started at 7. - Then tests generally - in the UK schools everyone seem to be constantly doing tests after tests after tests. I fear the kids learn more how to pass these tests than understand what they are actually being taught. - also the teaching of math and science seems ridiculously primitive and low level compared to what I remember from my school days. The program does not try to explain the big picture of how sciences relate to each other or how formal mathematical logic works - they just go after separate, often politically correct "applied examples" - something about sharing apples and using "green" electricity. This is at the age when I was doing quadratic equations in my time... So, yeah, I'm concerned whether the Western system is producing young people capable of competing with the rest of the world... Regards
  13. I'll wear it right next to mine, then Were they shaken or stirred, Sir? Regards
  14. Ah, thanks! Won't let it out of my sight, I promise! Regards
  15. And you know what? I don't plan to give it back Regards
  16. You have a big heart! Regards
  17. Think that will be a tight squeeze? Regards
  18. Careful, Jeb - you are wearing your heart on your sleeve! Oh, well, I suppose it's only fair I should start wearing mine in the same place... Regards
  19. You can use phonetics for the group call-signs, like Bravo-Echo and Bravo-Alpha - sounds very important that way Regards
  20. It's the hope that tortures you. Once she said "no" in no uncertain terms - the hope will be gone and the torture with it. That, of course, if she does say "no". What you really don't want to happen, though, is to meet her 10 years from now at some reunion party and hear "oh, AP, if only you asked me then..." Not sure if me hugging him will help all that much I'd suggest the next best thing - Binky, next time you're in London - let me buy you a pint! Regards
  21. 22. OK, at last! The final version of Jeb's Dove Song! The MIDI is attached and when rendered it sounds like this here. I had to use a SoundFont-based renderer (Timidity++), with 8MBGMSFX.SF2 font to convert the MIDI to audio. So, in the basic Windows MIDI Synth it will sound slightly different, but should still be fine. Hope, you'll enjoy it! Regards dove_song_MIDI_final.zip
  23. So, this thread is the opposite of Vent, or a Vent for happiness! Shall we call it a Radiant thread, perhaps? Jeb, your happiness is infectious! I did not intend to feel happy when I woke up this morning but now I can't help it Regards
  24. He seems hungry... or longing... for something. Maybe someone? Sad and magnificent... Regards
