It's more of a tank situation, where you have one man being the driver, one man being the gunman and a third being the commander and deciding what to do. Very few people can drive a tank and aim the turret anywhere other than dead ahead at the same time.

it's a bit late, but wouldn't you think someone with freeman's level of intelligence would have spotted that the chopper drops the bombs while you are moving and fires the gatling/vulcan when you are standing still or moving slowly?
