Basically, one day me and Lord Sinister were discussing a huge turn based game with af members, something 5 + members.

We were thinking along the lines of a a cvilization type of game for all interested. For maybe 1-2 hour gameplay every meetup and then save and continue on the next one.

I thought I can try and organize that, so here I am.

We can set a common date after agreement, what we need to know is who has Civilization 2 here, and would be willing to play.(We are still trying to figure out if it's legally free or not)

For a poll we first need to know the game of preference, so discuss!

"When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

Civilization 2 is the main contender here, but feel free to list whatever turn-based-strategy games you have/enjoy. The more people we can get together, the better for a glorious long game! :D

Feel free to PM me about almost anything and I'll do my best to answer. :)

As requested, I've added a poll to the thread with Civilization games the ones I've noticed to be the most popular here.

I would love to participate, but I'm missing my copy of Civ and I don't even know which one it is. I voted FreeCiv.

This should be moved to the "Gaming in general" section.

I initially didn't move the thread because I thought of it as being more of an organising-a-meeting thing than a gaming thing, but as it's really both, I've now moved it. :D

I can't stop laughing, it's so true though

Not really sure. Then again i have never played any Civ game. So it might just be a big trend inside the Civ community i have never heard of.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You build up a civilisation you control to greatness through either diplomatic, cultural, technological or military means.

The game can be very much altered though with rules and other game modes.

"When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."
