Batman Posted June 6, 2011 Star Wars Episode I: Racer (for the N64) That game was awesome, probably only thing good about Star Wars Episode I was that this game came out. All the Mario Kart games that I played are fun too, no significant impact though. I'm not big on racing games. Arby Posted June 6, 2011 I prefer more "arcade" style racing games, like Burnout or Need for Speed. I'm never been very good at "simulation" ones like Forza or Gran Tourismo. All I do when I try to modify cars in those games is make it worse, lol. I really liked the version of Wipeout on the PSP. EDIT: I also had a great time with a gameboy version of Pole Position years ago, I miss having a handheld "That which you do not know, is not a moral charge against you; but that which you refuse to know, is an account of infamy growing in your soul. I personally think the latest Hot Pursuit game was the best so far. Arby Posted June 7, 2011 Yeah, I haven't played a Need for Speed since Underground. Alyxx Thorne Posted June 7, 2011 You should try out Hot Pursuit then. It was developed by the team behind the Burnout franchise. Game developments at http://nukedprotons.blogspot.com Check out my music at http://technomancer.bandcamp.com Share this post Link to post
ZeosPantera Posted June 7, 2011 I prefer more "arcade" style racing games, like Burnout or Need for Speed. I'm never been very good at "simulation" ones like Forza or Gran Tourismo. Lol, You can't do simulation on a console silly. You also can't do it on a gamepad. Forza and the GT series are just bad arcade racers. Not sims. My measure of if something is a sim is can you complete a lap of a track the first time while trying to go fast? Yes, arcade.. no, crash burn spin.. sim. Bro in rFactor. With a Shelby Cobra. In any other game this car would probably be a special unlock-able super-car that guarantees a win every race. Alyxx Thorne Posted June 7, 2011 My definition of a simulation style racer is an overly focus on the cars themselves, tuning them, the different statistics between each model, and an overly focus on realism in terms of driving and such. Arcade racers focus more on easy controls and trying to make it a fun experience. ZeosPantera Posted June 7, 2011 You cant overly focus on realism in a simulator. You should read the requests thread for rFactor2, some people want it to a level even I gag at. http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/682-rFactor-2-Developer-Q-A Share this post Link to post
ProHypster Posted June 7, 2011 Wait a second... is Race Driver Grid the sequel to DTM Race Driver 3????? What have I missed out on!!! Best physics in racing for me is always codemasters! Everything can be modified, everything can brake. Tires can blow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L-_eIQ8Dbk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ghea_IAr8-M "When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon." ZeosPantera Posted June 8, 2011 Wait a second... is Race Driver Grid the sequel to DTM Race Driver 3? Dude, Grid is not related to Race Driver 3. It is the most arcadey game ever. Share this post Link to post
Arby Posted June 8, 2011 the original Hydro Thunder was one of my favorite games to sink quarters into in arcades. I really like the sequel for Xbox arcade.
