what are the damage values ross has for his weapons, and for the beginning rail ride what was his values for volume between his voice over and the intercom. i cant find a good value for either one without the latter obliterating the other. any help/additional help ill greatly appreciate.

p.s im not trying to copy what scott has done, i just wanted to make a mind series for a long time now and i finally have enough resources to do it. besides he said in the faq its okay. he wasnt specific about doing it for the same game though. if its okay let me know ross.

im probably gonna ask for more help in this same topic, so id appreciate it if moderators wouldnt lock it too soon.

thanks kaw, i think the only two i need to change is the 9mm bullet value and crowbar. and apparently according to site forums you have to reset them every time an area loads. (yay for that!)

From what I understand, sharing videos is alright, so feel free to share a link. I'm a moderator, so I should know. ;)

its called "a true half life"

i made a few mistakes cause for the time being the rock band mic im using isnt all that good for voice overs. i guess ross can cross that off his list. lol

but im planning to release an episode a week.

and thanks for any help or tips on my voice acting, i hoping ill get better down the road.

That was pretty good. Nice job. :)

I don't like writer's block, I prefer to call it writer's parry.

Not bad at all! The main recommendations I have are to pronounce things better (I couldn't understand some things you said) and to try and have a real clincher / punch line at the end of each episode instead of enthusiastically ending it. Other than that, though, it pretty impressive considering you're making fun of almost none of the same things Ross makes fun of. Good job ;)

While I still prefer Freeman's Mind, this wasn't half bad! Though I really wish people would stop doing mind series on games people have already done. There are plenty of mods or other games, so far, your's isn't bad.

haha i knew i was gonna get called out on my pronunciation. i have a problem with stuttering, its pretty mild at this point, but still prudent enough to cause me to scrap some lines. i probably have about 20 potential lines from the first episode alone that was pretty much impossible to say naturally, and or coherantly. so thats my main challenge with this. (shortversion/)i have to say lines in a certain way to "trick" my disorder so to speak(/short version)

but i think i may have to take your advice and write a clincher at the end cause in retrospect it did end a bit...fast and dry, i tihnk. thanks for the feed back mes

i do have a script written out, if i get enough requests ill post it.

to kaweebo, thanks, but for the thing about "people stop doing minds on the same game" thing the reason i did it for HL is because its the only silent protaganist game i have any experience with. and i spent a truck load of time, while watching ross' series, thinking of things i could do, jokes, etc. so because of time spent already putting this thing together im gonna continue with it.

yea i was planning to give myself a couple days after the first one, but i had a huge inspiration on the second episode that i just had to get done. heres the link to the second one by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0gbX-mYiHQ

edit: there was a volume balancing error on my part at 4:03, it was recorded slightly louder than the voice over file before that, and i didn't catch it until i watched it on youtube.

well i took your advice and tried to enunciate the lines better, and i think i came up with a pretty good closer. tell me what you think!

You don't have to modify the weapons damage values everytime. All you have to do is modify the "skill.cfg" file in your hl1 folder ;)
