  1. Dude, hide your power level.
  2. I've always been a vanilla VI guy. I even use it for HTML/CSS. Change scares me and I hate embracing new ideas. I would rather be stuck in my wrong old habits for all eternity... unless there is a new incentive at work that I can't shoot down in the conference room.
  3. Where is the button for switching emacs distributions?
  4. Don't forget about the ergonomic Lisp keyboard
  5. Many people don't use computers for "work", and those who do, use excel. For software developers/engineers (computers ARE work), hostile GUIs don't pose as big of problem since most of the time they work in a specific scope that can be fine-tuned. True power users are a dying breed.
  6. See also: the Eastern Front. The Germans had much better small unit tactics, while the Soviets were concerned with grand strategy. We may all die in droves, but we will win in the end.
  7. I think there are two types of people in the world, product oriented and detail oriented. Product oriented: Does it do more or less what I need it to do? -> Done. It's perfect. Any more revelry is a strain on my energy. Detail oriented: Does it do more or less what I need it do? -> Not good enough. Every nail needs to be hammered down. These people will understand each other, and one of these days we will meet in the field of battle.
  8. Yes, Ubuntu Mate. All hail.
  9. This is like watching 1950's take on the future, like robots working in McDonalds but they all carry around oversized CRT monitors for faces. Katie: "What's a GUI?" Blahaglaflahblah: "Look at my eyes, Katie. One of them is a fake because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. "
  10. This is my 500th post. At this rate, I will reach BTG grade in 145 years
  11. Nothing
  12. There should be a public service initiative to have these video chats play on advertisement screens next to the Sbarro at every transit hub in America.
  13. Riddle me this, forum. Police is controlled on the local level. The Democrats have held the cities with the most instances of police brutality for generations. So why is everyone shifting blame on El Blumpfo like he's some orange political pinata?
  14. Black lives matter, all lives matter... NO, this is America. Only my life matters
  15. >Never played a GTA game >Doesn't see the appeal Well, I'm no doctor, but the source of the ailment is staring me right in the face.
  16. Ok, I agree, I'm wrong. Now what? Maybe I also believe that the Earth is flat, and that the moon is just the sun at night. I'm probably wrong there too, but the fact of the matter is that all of these things are completely inconsequential to my existence.
  17. And then every subsequent main series GTA game set the bar higher and higher
  18. I follow the Moskva Down to Dorney Park
  19. Eines, hier kommt die Sonne Zwei, hier kommt die Sonne Drei, sie ist der hellste, Stern von allen Vier, hier kommt die Sonne
  20. It's over @Annie-kin, I have the last post
  21. I miss that guy. He brought a good level of contention. I prefer straight shit-fling to skirting around with purple prose, and logically sound arguments.
  22. I just want to point out that each individual is a nation unto himself, and that the universe will end when you die. So non of this bickering even matters.
  23. sorry guys, I might be breaking a few rules. i've been drinking again, it's been a hard week. it's all fucked, everything is fucked
