Everyone is trying to kill Gordon Freeman....

So as you guys know,

in FM episode 39 at 7:00 Gordon comes to the conclusion that everyone is trying to kill him, and kills the security guard in his way (who as we, who have played half-life wasn't actually trying to kill Gordon).

We can come to the conclusion that he will probably kill other people in his path now this way? Does this bother anyone? What do you think about this overall?

Does this make gordon seem maniacal? Discuss...

(Don't read if you haven't watched FM 39)

I don't know for sure when it comes to whether he's a maniac or not. What I DO know, is that I absolutely lost it when he blasted that security guard.

Oh crap, sincere apologies Bill!

As far as I know Gordon was batshit crazy from the beginning, but I did almost fell of my chair when he

killed that guard.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well, yea,

i can understand why he did though, his last hope for someone on his side being crushed the second that marine shot him. plus it was suspicious as hell that the guard "waived him through", i never noticed how suspicious that really was, Valve character placement flaw perhaps?

@prohypster it's fine, i still had one hell of a reaction regardless, so no harm done.

I wouldn't say it's suspicious I would say it could easily have been the military guard using the security guard as a hostage.

And I agree, I was in complete shock though...

Think, if a marine in combat armor wielding an SMG cam charging around the corner, would you really try to stop him? I'd be glad he didn't shoot me!

He's not going to be able to kill everyone. Eventually, he'll need to escort a scientist to the retinal scanner to get out of the lobby. If he just kills everyone, he'll not be able to leave (unless Ross edits the map file in such a way that he can get out of via the broken window Gordon made; which he kind of alluded to by saying that he needs a crate to stand on).

I expect that he will eventually remember that not everyone is trying to kill him and stop attacking people

Like I posted in the Official EPISODE 39 topic, he might kill the other scientists out of suspicion that they killed Peters on purpose and are now trying to do the same to him.

I have the perfect comeback. A Spaz-12.

It was the moment, I'm pretty sure he's gonna want to interrogate a scientist or something when he needs one, or if he's wounded he'll ask one to inject him ''some of that green crap''. He won't continue the game killing all friendly NPCs... lol

He might shoot one scientist in the knee to get him to go across the death-o-matic.

I

thought

it

was

funny, but...

I don't think he's going to go killing everybody. It was an adrenalized moment and like someone earlier pointed out, he'll need someone's help eventually. For a while he may shoot or at least over-react to characters carrying weapons though.

It was justified in that he shot the guard out of defense.

He's crazy because of the way he shot the soldiers and then assumed everyone was after him.

It seemed more like voluntary manslaughter, not defense.

Voluntary manslaughter is the killing of a human being in which the offender had no prior intent to kill and acted during "the heat of passion", under circumstances that would cause a reasonable person to become emotionally or mentally disturbed.

No, it's still a crime. I think it's just a misdemeanor instead of a felony. Not that anyone could ever arrest Freeman anyway...
