I don't own any consoles but I do have a question about the Xbox 360:

How does the Live thing work? I'm guessing you have an account on there. But can you simply log on another Xbox 360, and if a game is installed on said Xbox, play using your Live account.

no, it doesn't. plus it takes like 6 gb of space. that option should only be used as a last resort back-up.

Wouldn't playing a game from the Hard-drive run better than playing it from a Disk?

you can recover your live account if you know the email address and password you made the account with, then it will install the account on the xbox. but if you then have it installed on a different Xbox it will disable it on the former xbox.

Edit: i don't imagine it making a difference.

Hmm, because Games for windows Live doesn't work that way I think(you are asked to log in every time you start a game and I have logged in with different accounts on the same Machine multiple times). Anyway thanks for answering.

It depends on the speed of the hard drive... If there was an SSD o at least a VelociRaptor (10000 RPM) in that XBOX I'm pretty sure load times would be decreased. Cartridges were a good idea...

Wouldn't that still happen if I looked up porn on my regular computer?

Got Battlefield 3 on PS3, probably good thing too since I heard EA completely dicked up the PC version.

Hell naw, I played the PC version at Armageddon and it beats the living shit out of the PS3 version.

Can't you just buy an external Hard Drive for your Xbox :/ that's what I did for my PS3.

Depends on what country you're in I think. Doesn't make a difference whether your on PS3 or using a PC though.

I still don't have the PC for Battlefield even if I wanted it. Seriously, this game looks better than real life.

Xbox360s will only allow you to have Gamertag info stored onto a flash drive formatted for the system or the Xbox360 memory cards.

But you will still have to recover your Gamertag from the XBL servers. Keep in mind if you recover a gamertag to a modded Xbox360 you will be banned from XBL forever.

Mods such as "Aimbot" will get you banned and the system banned

Mods such as changing the way the console looks wont get you banned.

Xbox360 hard drives are SATA hard dives that fit in laptops.

the USB ports are "Read only" only port allows you to write is the memory card ports and the hard drive ports.

It's mostly dependent on your hard drive size, tbh. If you have the space, go ahead. Load times are generally decreased and the system runs quieter. Don't do this for older games though, like ones from 07 (Halo 3 explicitly warns you not to install it) and older especially, since those were optimized to run from the disk and it can actually run worse installed.

I own a PS3 and love it. I've never felt like I'm missing out on anything big from sticking with that. I used to use it as a media hub, too (I went as far as to upgrade the internal drive to 640 GB), but I don't anymore since I got a more power efficient device specifically for streaming. I prefer console gaming to PC gaming, tbh. I never have to worry about hardware, so long as the box has a PS3/2/1 logo on it.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with the PC BF3>PS3 BF3. BF3 runs better on hardware far greater than what the PS3 currently offers (it still boggles my mind how little RAM the thing has).

Depends on what he needs to use the HDD space for. It might not be possible for the 360 to boot games off the external drive, depending on how the permissions from DRM are laid out and other technical details (kind of like how you can't boot XP from an external USB drive). If you just want the extra space to watch movies (why anyone would on the 360, though; no offense 360 owners, but video support on the console isn't really that good), then I'd imagine you could do that. I'd recommend going the streaming route with both systems if your hardware can dish up the content.
