I don't think of 'realism' as gallons of blood spurting from corpses created by lightning shot from a magic wand.

IF he makes Freeman's Mind 2, I think he'll use the vanilla game like he does with HL1.

Otherwise it would ruin the fun of the game which is that people recognize the game and the situations and they can relate to the humor that way.

Using an obscure mod ruins that aspect.

SMOD, no. Though I think he should use victor filip's HL2 update mod. It updates HL2 to Ep2's level of texture and lighting quality. Also, I think it fixes the vortex thing in Ep1.

Well, I don't think it should be used for the normal FM2, but I see potential for a special episode using the mod.

I think it's a good idea. More weapons and more realisim

Realism...banana bombs, super shovel, magic wand..Yes just like what we supply our troops with.

Maybe he meant like the SMOD tactical, and not the regular one.But Ross will still probably use only the vanilla or a visual enhancement, like the update mod.

I have the perfect comeback. A Spaz-12.

I think keeping Half Life 2 as it is would be best. Mods, even just visual ones, don't feel right to me. Mods are fun of course but they aren't usually very cannon.

Updating HL2 to Episode 2's level of texture and lighting quality, changing the Vortigaunt's healing lightning bolt animation to fit in with Ep2, and changing some vortex thing in Ep1 to make more sense can't be seen as canon?

I think that mod could work well, especially keeping the consistency if he ever made it that far. HL2 is a pretty big game.

I think we should let him finish HL1 first and see if there is even still interest. I mean, lets be realistic, this is probably gonna go on for a pretty long time and Machinima series usually don't go stay popular forever. Anyever, I think it is way to soon to discuss this. I mean if/when we get to HL2, someone is gonna make a thread similar to this anyway.

Makes sense, I mean he has a lot more creative freedom when making other Machinima. With Freeman's mind he can really only do what he is doing right.

Me too, no doubt. Although I do get a little sad when I see that FM gets so much more views than his other Machinima's. It is understandable, given the simplicity and accessibility of the series but still.

But I think we are going a little off topic here.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
