Israel and the U.S

Recommended Posts

Butt buddies, or am I reading too much into it? I mostly ask this because the overwhelming support that the United States gives the political state known as Israel is well-documented, to the point of risking global peace. A bit of an exaggeration, but with recent bombing by Israel and Obama's support of such escalation tactics, I fear I may not be too far off in this case, considering how many other nations are invested in the region. Below in the spoiler is an example of the support from the States to Israel, while this :arrow:http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/mideast/RL33222.pdf is a more comprehensive list, pages 30-33 specifically, though go ahead and read the rest.

Personally, I think we might want to slow down a bit on the support given, let them stand a bit more on their own if they want to be taken seriously as an independent nation by the rest of the world, and not just the United States's favorite pet.

So, am I just reading too much into it, and I have no reason to be concerned about the support given, or am I not alone?

EDIT: Also, I feel the need to point out America's long-time rival/enemy/unfriendly-thing, Russia, at least the president, Putin, seems to encourage peace talks, another reason I'm a bit concerned about added heat in the region. http://rbth.ru/articles/2012/11/08/putin_says_israel_palestinians_should_resume_talks_19942.html

Isreal is the buffer state for the US in the Middle East. That's its sole purpose.

Why would US need a "buffer" state in the Middle East?

If anything it is a "stick-in-a-beehive" or "red-cloth-to-a-bull" sate in the Middle East.

Also, it IS real and is Israel...

Regards

They wouldn't last a week without US weapons. Once they're devloping their own nukes it'll be a different story.

That's the thing, start weaning them off the support, let them learn to stand on their own. Don't just make em go cold turkey, but if they wanna be taken seriously...

What are you talking about? Isreal HAS ITS OWN nuclear stockpile.

Of US nukes that may or may not exist

They might be made of US material, but they do indeed have a nuclear stockpile.

Last numbers I saw on Israeli nuke capabilities was in the neighborhood of "crack open the earth's crust, and destroy the core" level... They are actually the 3rd strongest nuclear power in the world. (after Russia and the U.S. in that order)

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

You're taking my side on alot of things. You're right about that somewhat (I say that only because there is no definate estimate on how many nukes they have).

That would actually be beyond the capabilities of both the US and USSR combined, with China, France, and the UK putting all their stuff in for good measure. "Earth-cracking" bombs simply do not exist outside of science fiction.

Actual and estimated numbers of warheads:

US: 7700

Russia: 8750

France: 300

China: 240

UK: 225

India: 80-200

Israel: 80-200

Pakistan: 90-110

N. Korea: believed <10

He just kept talking and talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt it was really quite hypnotic...

I wasn't specifying a single bomb, I was saying something entirely different.

You got those numbers from where? I got mine from friends in Israeli Defense...

Yes, that doesn't exist either. While I'm at it, HAARP does nothing but study auroras, chemtrails are a paranoid fantasy, and there aren't any Battlemechs.

Here's a couple things I've picked up oer these many years :

1 NOBODY has friends in Israeli Defene. Least of all the people who actually hang out with people in the IDF. (People who served their term in the Israeli military? NOT "Friends in Isareli Defense" any more than some guy who served a tour in Infantry is a "Miitary Intelligence Specialist.")

2 Anybody who KNOWS the truth about the numbers of Israeli nukes... isn't going to tell YOU. They're not authorized to tell you, and you're not authorized to know. What you're relying on is, if anything, boasts.

3 Saying something absolutely ridiculous won't really be backed up by claiming you have sources. :ugeek:

So you're saying that nobody should pay any attention to your numbers either? I agree.

Personally I think the US should stop being their attack dog for absolutely everything that gives funny looks and just leave them for the wolves. They have it coming.

Israel is not the kind of country that gets "left to the wolves", having a military on par with US armed forces, having a nuclear stockpile, and being more secure and stable than any of its neighbors. Even if the US cut the flow of material to Israel, it would remain for a long time.

You really don't like Israel do you? I know of 0 incidents where the USA fought INSTEAD of Israel.

Very true, and they have the backing of most christian religions as well, (including the Catholic church's ~1 billion members) which makes it impossible for any cut off to be complete enough to make a dent.

Just going to say here, not even close to all Christians would go help Israel even if they wanted to (I doubt that there would be more than 5% that would do it, and that was a generous number).

If you want, I'll go into detail.
