Take the original Super Mario Bros. game, and have Mario (obviously), Samus, Megaman, Link, Ryu (Ninja Gaiden), Contra guy, and Simon Belmont all as playable characters all with there unique abilities, other than that, it's the exact same game as Super Mario Bros. So if you've memorized SMB, you can play the game the exact same way as Mario.

Sorry for the necropost, but I found the first two GTA games are being released for free by rockstar.

you have to register for their mailing list though, but at least it's free!
