Eh. The one reason PC is so great is that it is such an open platform. You really don't have that with a console and I doubt the SteamBox will change that. However if Steam works similar to the way it does on PC then this might be a great way to help indie games reach a wider audience.

That's pretty interesting, but so long as the next 6 million halo games are xbox exclusive my brother and I will be sticking with that line of consoles.

Seems like a great way for console gamers to get into/try the Steam ecosystem even if they don't have a gaming computer. I personally won't be buying one, but I also have a decent gaming PC already.

I don't think it would replace a good gaming PC honestly, but it's a good alternative for more console-centered gamers.
