Here's the actual story I just now bothered to link: According to the article, the boss told him to cut it out before he did. I don't know all what exactly the guy did in-between. Perhaps he did change the background, stop mentioning MLP, etc. but they fired him, anyway just because they were weirded out by him. That's not really fair, but that's probably what happened. I don't agree with their decision, but I do understand why the boss would freak out at that. He probably thought the brony was a weirdo anyway, and when he saw him singling out his daughter and complimenting her it sent him over the edge. I can understand that. It was a misunderstanding, but I still stand by the fact that the guy should have known better. I don't know why he'd think no one would see his background, anyway. It's a cubicle, people walk by those in the office all the time. Of course they'd see it. Bah, I'm overthinking it. Here's some babby Princessees:

It was a misunderstanding, I'm not arguing that point. There was no concrete evidence about anything of the sort, it was just his actions that bothered his boss. You do have to understand that MLP isn't as 'socially acceptable' or however you want to say it than superheroes. To the average joe's eye, it makes more sense for a man in his 30's to enjoy Batman than Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. Even bronies have to acknowledge that. So, yes, I can completely understand how his boss might be a little freaked out when he sees his (from his POV) grown-ass man subordinate looking at things designed for little girls and commenting on a little girl's clothing where it features ponies. I wouldn't even be as outspoken about this as I am if the guy showed even a modicum of thought about the entire thing. Instead, he turned to the internet and ranted about how they're infringing on his rights.

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/opinion-la/la-ol-mylittlepony-discrimination-rights-20131004,0,409190.story I can get behind this, to be honest. The guy didn't do anything wrong but I can totally understand why people who be weirded out by him. First of all, you're a father in your 30's and your desktop background at work is of Applejack. I don't know, you'd just think he'd take into consideration how other people would take that in a workplace. And then he compliments a little girl on her MLP shirt during 'Take Your Daughter to Work' day, it makes absolute sense to me that his boss would call him in. EDIT: Apparently it was his boss' daughter, too. I get it on both sides. The guy is completely innocent, but I don't think even he grasps the situation here. This isn't like defending your right to watch the show on an internet forum, this is a situation where people are outing you as some kind of creepy pedophile. I think it's time to take a step back at that point. I think it's completely unfair how people can fire you just based on your appearance or preferences in entertainment, but I totally get why this guy was fired for this. And the fact that he doesn't seem to understand it himself just proves how out of it some fans really are. There's being unashamed of watching something that you think is entertaining, then there's being proud about it like you're some kind of goddamn pony supremacist.

Good top 100 list of single player FPS RPG games
Pinkie Pie replied to icthulu's topic in Gaming in general
Seriously, no one's said System Shock yet? Past ten years or not, still needs to be in this list. Dragon Age: Origins is another good one. -
Is 'chief' seriously the new replacement for the words cool/boss/tight? Pick a fucking word, people. Or just stick with 'cool'. It's transcended at least two generations, so far. There's nothing really wrong with it.

Somehow I can see this happening

Buy a Barbie truck and set it behind his car. I'm sure some police officer will fine him for reckless abandonment of a vehicle.

No, not the show. If there was ever a reason for anyone to make an 'I'm so happy I just want to fucking gush' thread, it's now. IKxesrCU3kg Someone is remaking Metroid II - Return of Samus for the Gameboy with color, enhanced graphics, and gameplay elements introduced by later games so that it isn't stagnant. It's almost essentially a new game altogether. I love this, I can't wait for it, and if Nintendo decides to shut this down, I'm killing somebody. It's just fantastic that someone put so much loving detail into a game that is vastly underrated given the fact that it is for the original Gameboy and nobody really plays that much. (Even on emulators.) Demo for anyone interested: http://metroid2remake.blogspot.com.br/p/am2r-demo-v11.html Anyway, purpose of this thread is, obviously, to put your happiness into text so that we may all read it and share in utter bliss of good things to come. (Assuming you're ever happy and not angry cat, in which case I deeply apologize for your existence.)

Both surprised and elated at seeing a new post from Alyxx. Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I haven't seen much from you.

I burst out laughing at the last sentence in the reply. There's a whole series of pictures like that on DA, where Rainbow Dash stands up to Nazi tanks or helps set up an American flag on German soil. I'd be genuinely offended if I didn't think it was as hilariously retarded as I do.

This is the stupidest fuck thing ever.
