San Andreas V still has nothing on it.

Real harm is caused by the disenfranchised and a few honest to god ideologues who would otherwise suffocate if the former didn't exist en mass.

That's the same kind of logic used by staunch anti-gunners: let's bubble wrap the world so that the dregs don't stir up any shit. Here is a study done about the shared characteristics of hate crime perpetrators. https://start.umd.edu/pubs/START_BIAS_MassCasualtyHateCrimeOffenders_Nov2020.pdf To me this says that the problem lies with an underclass of dumb despondent schlemiels. No reasonable person will take racial humor and turn it into a mantra, much less go around discriminating against others. Simple, if the immediate company is offended, it's a social faux pas, if not it's just another joke. But in either case it doesn't matter; it's just off the cuff rose garden stuff. The only ones that take any of this to heart are the nose picking degenerates from that study, and benign trash hailing from every corner of the proletariat shitscape. The world(read: America where everyone is absolutely bonkers about race) is too busy attacking it's own strawman in the image of a middleclass "casual racist". The real devil is growing wage to GDP gap, which does affect minorities more for systemic reasons, but in this case it's legacy institutionalized racism merging into generational poverty, not racism in and of itself. You could rake every profane uncle and uncouth bureaucrat over coals even when it does absolutely nothing to aid our current social predicament, but it is a lot easier to chase echoes and solve superficial problems. I guarantee you, if a lot more people had better prospects and outlooks, then casual racism wouldn't even be a blip on the radar, and it really is a non-issue compared to say central banking and corporate consolidation. Isn't that the same thing as rednecks targeting random muslims after 9/11? To my point above, do you think your assailants would do anything this bone headed if they had well paying jobs or were knee deep in Academia? I mean statistically speaking, of course. Here's how I want things to play out in *my* ideal world. Whenever someone witnesses a politically charged event, or hears a racial slur directed at them, they just shrug their shoulders, get a coffee, and drop another 1000 dollars into an IRA or a downpayment. A perfect decentralized world governed by personal determination, collectively summarized by the motto embedded on the original Franklin Cent

You only answered my question by raising the stakes and eventually alluding to some concept of an Original Sin. Maybe a fat person will get offended by a riff on fat people, but we still make quips don't we? That doesn't mean that the person making the joke believes fats should held back by society and be discriminated against. That's where the distinction lies. It's not illegal at work, but it's not the time or the place. We don't talk about sex or religion either.

It's not arbitrary, but the line is a bit blurry. It's the same as distinguishing passive interest and zealotry. I doubt that's true. Even you're a racist in some passive way or another

Depends, do you walk around fuming whenever someone cracks an ethnic joke in a non professional setting? At some threshold being PC decouples from its original intent and becomes a form or self gratification.
