I actually haven't done any drugs, though I have known many stoners. I was basing this on morphine being a depressant and sometimes creating a euphoria feeling, but not necessarily impeding higher brain functioning. I have had weed incidentally before when I was fixing a friend's computer at the same time he was hotboxing the room with it with his friends. I actually hated the experience, it made me much more aggressive. I could FEEL myself become dumber and found it very frustrating. I remember thinking that if I never knew what it was like to feel smarter than this, it might not be so bad, but as it was, I found it horrible.

I figure Freeman has experience.

(Downloadable copy will be up later) Subtitles: English More Freeman's Mind! I'm mostly happy with how this episode turned out, it's a longer one, Freeman covers a lot of ground in this one. This one also has a particularly good jumping off point I wanted to get to. On that note, some of you will be disappointed, but I'm taking a break from FM for a little while as I want to catch up on Game Dungeon. I've already started on it and hope to have it out in about a week, possibly sooner. More coming after that! EDIT: Could be a little longer than a week for the next game dungeon, it's going to be a long one. LINK TO FORUM COMMENTS

I love how they're getting the original actors back for Max Damage and Die Anna, they still look pretty good.

I may make an official post on this later, but I wanted to give everyone here the first shot at this. Since we've made the migration to the new site code, we can better support additional reviewers for Gorilla Gong now. What this means is essentially any good machinima video (or some non-machinima, more on that below) you find, you could submit to the site, do a short write-up on, then you would be credited with having selected it. We want to get as much good machinima on the site as possible. Alternately, while this isn't as big a priority to us, if you're familiar with lots of non-machinima gaming content (live-action, particularly entertaining let's plays, or reviews, etc.) we can also add that to our "Banana Pit" section, although that won't be appearing on the front page. Our focus is still machinima first and foremost. Here are the requirements for being a reviewer: -Have good video taste (this is subjective, but we still want to try to keep standards up) -Ability to follow simple directions when submitting a video -Ability to write up a couple sentences (or longer if you want) on any video you submit, particularly what it's about and why you chose it. -Be okay with the fact that I'm essentially boycotting any content that has the Machinima.com watermark on it (we don't block the videos/creators themselves, just the branding) -Send me links of at least 5 of machinimas you like so we can get an idea of your tastes. To lower bias, try to send me ones that I have NOT put up on GG myself. We're looking for videos that have some quality to them. These don't have to be the best videos you've ever seen, but they should have some appeal to watch for one reason or another. This reviewer offer extends to anyone who is a fan of machinima and wants to see the format grow. If you're interested, go ahead and email me at rosswscott@gmail.

Assassin's Creed, Ross Scott, Eternam
Ross Scott replied to danielsangeo's topic in Gaming in general
Yeah I mentioned it in another thread, but I'm definitely looking forward to Unity, the teaser trailer suggests they'll represent the French Revolution well. The setting alone has the potential to be so badass. -
Well a dictatorship has its advantages. Basically, not acting civil can get people banned. I'm not going to purge anyone based on their opinions, but if people can't act like adults, I get enough of that elsewhere on the internet.

Oh I don't feel GUILTY about the money, I was just concerned when I made it that it would alienate fans. Thankfully, it didn't. Hell I can put the money to use, I'd have to be loaded before I started feeling guilty about it, and even then, I would do something about it. Even with the donations, my income is below the median and average income for the USA, unless I was exploiting people, guilt doesn't enter into it. And more Game Dungeon coming! A lot of it!

Sorry for the late reply, had a busy month or so. I'm not sure we would have a civil war so much as some sort of revolution. If it was a civil war, who would the sides be? Yeah sadly, this is pretty much my conclusion. I think you could theoretically have some sort of peaceful separation on a small scale, but I think trying to remedy our biggest problems through legal channels is mostly impossible nowadays. Big money infiltrates interests on local and state levels also when they see issues with the potential to threaten them, it just requires more work and money than concentrating on the federal level. Yeah honestly I see this as the most likely outcome in the event of a revolution. There's a REASON I find the French Revolution so interesting, they overthrew the ruling class without a clear plan or focus and it was just violence and anarchy until a dictator with a plan to solve problems stepped up (with military force). You know, I can't help but think of my struggle with Machinima.com and my video rights. I am convinced there was literally NOTHING I could say to them that would make them see the reason of what I was trying to do (and what they agreed to via contract). The ONLY thing that worked was threat of legal action against them. Some people simply don't respond to reason. I've actually contemplated this dilemma a long time and came to the conclusion that in order to increase the odds of a society prospering in the long term, you would have to test for and identify sociopaths and prevent them from obtaining positions of power, or at least have extra, rigorous, morality training for them. The thing is, anyone can make horrible mistakes and cause a lot of damage. But any sane person with a conscience won't do it OVER and OVER and OVER again with zero remorse. Sociopaths without proper moral training are essentially saboteurs to any society. Yes and no. The USA is nowhere near the state some of the revolutions other countries have had, but at the same time, our system is so thoroughly corrupt now, it can no longer be fixed. So it's like we're clearly driving over a cliff and we can no longer break or swerve away in time before we go over it. It does, but it's all interconnected. The same forces that have corrupted our government have also gutted our education as well. I'm convinced another cornerstone of a long lasting society would be to have education and culture that instills productive, moral, and sustainable values. A lot of you guys seem to be ganging up on BTGBullseye, but I totally understand his perspective on the revolution part. I don't think his message is "violence will solve this" which is what people seem to be attacking him. To be clear, widespread violence is nothing to welcome at all, but the question to be asking is "What's the alternative?" We both feel the legal system can not remedy this, it's too far gone. I think massive cooperation among people to fix this is impossible, we're too divided and brainwashed as a nation. I personally think a radical solution might be possible with no bloodshed, but they're all shots in the dark and likely pipe dreams. This quote of his says it all guys: I think you guys view him as a warmonger and he probably views many of your opinions as pie-in-the-sky thinking. I think it's just a matter of a logical conclusion based on the assumed truths. Again, what would be the alternative to fix our society in its current state?

Damnit, I have a Civil Protection script that covers this EXACT scenario, it's just been shelved for a long time due to the time involved with animating.

No, I used shared hosting from someone else, it just sort of happens. I'll have a bunch coming. I don't know yet. The thing is, the more I do of Freeman's Mind, that's time I have to keep postponing the movie, which I REALLY want to do. I also have many other ideas for other animated machinimas, but those can take a lot of time also. I basically have to play triage between making what fans want (all Freeman all the time) v. the best content I can do (the movie, other original ideas, etc.). Yeah, I meant to contact you about that. It's "Kurtz", a character from Apocalypse Now. It's one of those jokes I expect almost no one to get, but throw it in anyway.

(Downloadable copy will be up later) Freeman's Mind continues in another backtracking-tastic episode! Between the previous episode and the earlier ones a while back that involved turning the power on, this is one of the most backtrack-heavy parts of the game. Unfortunately this means a lot of empty hallway wandering, so this episode isn't the most exciting, though I think the bottom portion is good. There was a bit of a delay on this episode for many reasons not related to FM, but I'm through most of it now and will be working on the next episode soon. I plan to have 1-2 FM episodes after this, then take a break to have a small Game Dungeon spree. After that, I guess the world ends, not sure. LINK TO FORUM COMMENTS

I've been pretty busy lately and I'm working to have a new video out as soon as I can, but in the meantime, there's a new discussion I was invited to for the podcast "The Mute Button" however they may be changing their name soon as they're not the only podcast with that name. LINK TO PODCAST The podcast mostly focused on machinima and movies based on videogames. I maybe should have said more than I did, but I said most of things I wanted to and shamelessly plugged Gorilla Gongmore than a bit. Anyway, I hope to have the next FM episode out in a few days, with a bunch more videos coming after that. LINK TO FORUM COMMENTS

That's a non-issue, mine was designed like that from the beginning (before THIS rule was added).
-
Well it's both good and bad news. Now I hopefully know what the problem is and can fix it, it's just frustrating. And no, there's a LOT of revising to do. It's more complicated than the previous post implies. There's a dead minimum of modifying or redoing about a third of the lines, could be more like half. Any lines that get permanently cut due to their new rules I'll try and release as extras later.
-
Well I'm not against the concept, but I'm pretty much operating at max capacity now. Any new project will take time away from something else. Additionally I find a lot of gaming news to be relatively vapid, or else not that applicable to me (oh great a new game, guess I'll see if it's any good in about 2 years or more!). I prefer the stuff I do to be semi-timeless so that if someone saw / listened to it months or years from now, it would stay about as relevant. Actually I'm NOT at the moment (I was for a little bit before the fundraiser), I have too many other things to do with the shorter term videos, but it is a goal I'm working towards. Christ, that's a NEW requirement that's been added since I submitted it AND since it was rejected. My longest lines are 8 seconds, they're all "easter egg" ones though, not main gameplay ones. The thing is, a lot of their lines work this way in tandem. They'll have the basic line, then the "extra line" tacked on sometimes, which can come to over 5 seconds together. For the "extra" lines, I just combined them, again, this was TOTALLY VIABLE at the time they listed the requirements. So I'm kind of pissed off that they keep changing the rules and they could have saved me a LOT of work if they had TOLD ME THE RULES to begin with, but fuck it, at least now I know what to do. Alright, I guess we can call of the dogs, I have to revise the damn pack to their ever-shifting guidelines. I'll clean it up and match it to their specifications again then resubmit. I'm reminded of Empire Strikes Back when Vader says "Pray I do not alter it further" in reference to terms of agreement.

It'll be night and day man.

Sorry for all the late replies, I was spending all my time on the videos: the filesize would be a lot larger though since FLAC is unlikely to compress much further in a compressed archive. Wow, was that you? Thanks a bunch if so. I'm more tempted to save the cryptocurrency as I see it having a lot of potential (or doom, hard to say) Oh there's more where that came from. The amount of new oil we're getting out of the ground doesn't offset the amount of old oil fields that are shutting down. There could be a million years worth of oil in the ground, but if we can't get it out faster or cheaply, the price will still rise. From my perspective this sounds volatile as hell as it can probably lose your money even faster than a human can. Oh I don't feel GUILTY about this (unless someone donated who really can't afford to), I'm just glad I didn't alienate fans in the process. I think it partially depends on what your economic level is. It's like the saying "money can't buy happiness". Well actually, if you're below the poverty line, money buys a TREMENDOUS amount of happiness and can increase your lifespan (if it doesn't go towards Mad Dog). Not much for FM, but I do have some extra stuff for CP I'll try and get out eventually. I think my goals are likely different than yours are, it's a lot of writing, might be better to email me about it. Short version: I'm considering long LONG term stocks in areas I've researched as a possible venue of getting out of the US dollar, for short term I have regular info from someone who's done trading for 30 years and offers advice. I'll test it first before spending a penny. Regardless, I don't trust my OWN judgment AT ALL for short term stocks. If don't have expert consultation, I'm not doing it. Similar level of shock like the rest of it. My interpretation is Freeman says some things and thinks others. Otto and I considered adding reverb to distinguish the two, but it didn't work out so well. As for how NPCs react to him, I see it kind of like "in the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king" situation.

It's actually at my parents since it ended up being kind of heavy to mail to Poland. They took a picture of it that I have somewhere.
-
Well I'll be honest, it's mostly fan loyalty keeping me going on Freeman's Mind, otherwise I might prefer doing other videos. Thanks a bunch, you'll probably get an email later too. Wow, thanks a ton, I'm always amazed by donations on this level. Well I definitely don't take that outlook, I mean I never would have considered this a realistic way to earn income as it is. It's more like a magic carpet I'm trying to ride as long as I can. I certainly don't feel like people OWE it to me (unless you're selling bootleg copies or something).
-
I'm actually a little biased against Felix's Mind, since I heard in an interview, he emphasized repeatedly Freeman's Mind was NOT an influence for the series. Okay, I might buy that, except he then took my exact same title art and modified it for his video. To me, that came across like having your cake and eating it too. Piotr Chancewicz, Artur Affek, Janusz Lakomiec, Krzysztof Najman, and "Mech" Maciej Januszko are ALSO additional artists for the Painkiller soundtrack, the credits were the biggest mess I've ever seen, so I went with unknown.

Thanks a bunch, waiting is no problem as long as I feel like there's a chance of a reply.
