Just finished Dear Esther. Beautiful, but slightly boring. Oh well, back to Mass Effect 1 it is.

Or they mix too well.

Hey, it's Sinister's birthday today. Happy Birthday! May the code be with you.

I bought it. And Hamburglar is right, I've been walking around the Island for like half an hour so far. It's really beautiful. I wish they would let me run once in a while, but I guess that would spoil the experience.

MHmm. No, I only played Baldur's Gate II. It's the strangest thing, I could swear I'm missing an obvious one. Anyway, I'm somewhat conflicted right now about the savegames for Mass Effect 3. On one hand, I just completed ME 2, got the relationship with Jack (was gunning for Miranda, but messed up) and full Paragon rep (and like 40 points renegade, less than one of the segments). I could import that to ME3 and keep going from there. Or, I could start ME1 (which I plan to do now anyway), then import those savegames to ME2, complete it again and then go on to ME3. The thing is I don't have enough time for that, ME3 will be available in a couple of weeks. Also, Ashley Williams is back in ME3, and hotter than ever. It might be interesting to see what happens if I pick her up in ME1 and stay faithful in ME2. Decisions, decisions

I always keep my old save games, but I really don't know why... Right now I can't recall any other series that lets you import your character from game to game, but I have the strangest feeling that I'm missing an obvious one.

Dead Island Game Review By:Very7684 (Spoiler Alert)
J.C. replied to Very7684's topic in Gaming in general
Well, Dead island has really impressive graphics. I'm sensing there's nothing I could say to change your mind (and believe me, it will be a cold day in hell before I change mine), so I'll say to all zombie fans, this is a great survival game. And if you are a wimpy and borderline OCD player as I am, you'll really enjoy the 70 plus side quests available, the huge maps (they're really, really big) and the undiluted carnage. -
Banned for pointing it out.

Great episode as always Ross.

Well, you should give it a try. I was so impressed, I pre-ordered ME3 immediately (something I've NEVER done with a game) and bought ME1 right away. I'm going to start from the beginning now and play trough the series.

Finally finished encoding the intro for the Mass Effect 3 Demo to a reasonable size and uploading it to YouTube. Here it is. jW-LzKHXRHc Absolutely amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wouldn't worry to much about some of the things posted here, like the inability to import your old Shepard: it's been confirmed it will be possible to do that in the final released, along with like 180 aspects of your gameplay thought the series, that will shape your Mass Effect 3 story in a particular way. I found the gameplay to be an improvement over Mass Effect 2 (that one took a little getting used to in the beginning). The dodge moves will undoubtedly come in handy. And melee has never (to me, at least), been a valid strategy in this game, so I really don't mind if it is as clunky as usual (although the Omni-Blade seems interesting, just look at 10:17 in the video). About some of the other things someone mentioned (I believe it was Pinkie) like the little boy interaction feeling weird, I will cut BioWare some slack. To Shepard, it embodies the innocents he's fighting for, and is a reflection of himself, during his own very troubled infancy. It's just sentimental stuff. I personally like it. But if you don't, it's ok, go ahead and shoot a few rounds at the invincible, demigod-like, kilometer-long ancient sentient machines that just plummeted from the sky and began kicking our asses (see 7:03, 13:50 and 20:46 on the video).

Dead Island Game Review By:Very7684 (Spoiler Alert)
J.C. replied to Very7684's topic in Gaming in general
Surprising. I found it to be very addictive (spent over 50 hours on it until I finished it) and surprisingly complex. I've read that "Borderlands with zombies" statement elsewhere (perhaps you said it in another thread?), but since I've not played Borderlands, I don't know how to judge that. For me, it was like a real zombie survival experience: you had to work hard at getting the things you needed, customizing weapons, running deep incursions into specific locations (resort, beaches, sewers, police station, etc.) or sometimes just wandering around and bashing every single piece of crap undead that you could find (thugs were my favorite, I liked to run them over with my truck, get back and hit them again). I will say that some of the finer points are difficult to pick up (just because they are never really mentioned to you), like the "flying kicks" (you know, running, jumping and kicking in mid-air, sends the zombies flying), or the "dodge" moves (jumping sideways to avoid charging enemies), or the importance of leveling up certain abilities (like kicking the zombies head in when they are down, for my character). Also, some of the cutscenes (specially near the end) could have used a little more work, and the ending itself was a bit anti-climatic, but overall I really liked that game. I even made this video. T9e8Kz5BOcA And yes, I was talking to myself in a suspiciously Freeman-ish fashion as I recorded that. Ross has corrupted my gameplay forever Also, there is already a thread about this, perhaps it would be a good idea to merge this one? -
Really? I just finished the demo and thought it was absolutely badass. The initial sequence with the reaper attack was awesome. In fact, I couldn't help myself and made a video. It's going to take a while to upload to YouTube tough. Now I'm editing and encoding the video.

Just finished Mass Effect 2. Very cool game, I'm definitely getting Mass Effect 3 as soon as it launches. Now I'm watching FM 40.
