is this PSU powerful enough for this setup
Lu replied to \\Vincent Vega's topic in Computer Hardware
It seems like enough. That's a power devouring machine. Usually good power supplies can handle about 10%-15% more than their maximum output. That chipset, processor and GPUs are not as efficient as the current ones. I'd opt for a 1200W PSU just to be safe, specially if you're overclocking and need optimal stability. A friend of mine had a similar setup, but with 2 GTX 295 (dual GPU) a C2Q 9650, 8 GB of ram @ 1333 and 2 2TB drives, with a nForce 790 mobo. It ran just fine so yours shouldn't be a problem. -
A friend took this picture while we were exploring a downhill road near the Irazu Volcano here in Costa Rica.

How do we get oil from invading countries? Who said all Muslims are terrorists? I think it should be clear that soldiers don't invade countries to get oil, or other resources. No. They invade countries because they are following what they were ordered to do. It's the politicians that give orders the ones who are said to invade countries with those interests. You, as many other citizens of the U.S may not be completely aware of why your leaders do stuff like that. It's not like they're completely honest, as they should. Not a single human in the planet is. Now, It has been stated in the medias that Saddam Hussein wanted to control the areas where the oil shipments to the rest of the world took place. Imagine what would happen if those shipments suddenly stopped. How'd our almost completely dependant society would react? That could be a reason for the US to invade, or something way darker that none of us can prove. The US government has done some evil and hideous things in the past, I'm sorry but it wouldn't be surprising if they did something like invade a country just to take control over resources.

The injection systems on your HEV don't contain poison, or nanorobots that are gonna take over your brain, Freeman, you're just being paranoid.

8/10 It would be funnier if we said why we give it the grade we do, don't you guys think?

As narcisist and egocentrical as humans are, it wouldn't be surprising if at the end heaven was represented as a land where you're god, because you've always thought it should be that way

Thanks you for your technicisms (seriously).

IMO you look better without the stache.

It's amazing. One of the best tries at the SFM. The gestures are natural and flow nicely and the lighting is also great. Congratulations

This was one of the best episodes in a long, long while. I cracked up several times while watching it. The audio quality drastically improved, it's a whole new level now, up to professional standards. Thanks Ross. It seriously made me remember why I love FM and everything you produce.

If you're still looking for a preamp I suggest this interface : Digidesign MBOX with Focusrite Preamps The Preamps in that interface are great, and powerful. It's not only a preamp but also an external sound card, it has it's own DAC and is pretty good, my dad uses it for his radio and tv advertising. It doesn't have native support for Windows 7, however a german company called PloyTec developped drivers for it to be used on windows 7 64bit & 32bit. I'm currently using one just as an external DAC with those drivers and it works amazing. My dad's been using them too with a Blue Bluebird with no issues, and excellent sound. Highly recommended.

Heaven, heaven is an image that your brain creates at full speed when you're about to die. It gives you the illusion that you enter a place with all the elements you've always dreamed, or what people have always told you that heaven is. This to give you a calm, peaceful death where you believe you'll live forever. Your brain even tricks you into believing that several years passed in a matter of seconds (yeah, just like time stretches in Inception) until the day where you decide to cease existing. Then you die thinking that you chose to end your neverending life, thus you have a happy death

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=94128543 Guys, help vote Black Mesa up in the Steam Greenlight. If we get to 100%, Black Mesa will have steam integration (achievements, constant updates, ease of install, matchmaking etc...) It'd be even more awesome

Replace the GPU's thermal paste. They often place too much, and a not so great one. I reccoment Artic Silver 5. Be wawre that removing the heatsink will probably void your warranty (well, it does with XFX). Other than that grab a brush and remove all the dust from the heatsink, and everywhere in your PC. Airflow is critical as well. I've been able to drop 5°C in CPU temp just by removing all the dust covers. lol

By the way. The release of BM:S confirms that the end is nigh. Double post? I don't care! It's my 700th post

I just noticed, because I hadn't visited the forums in a while, that AF turned 2 years old 10 days ago. Thanks to Ross for founding this amazing proyect that's gathered all of us together as a family, and thanks to every single one of you that takes a bit of your time to check these once, twice, three times or more a day and keep it alive.

Banned for joining at my lunch time.

According to an interview RPS did to Carlos Montero, the proyect director it's not even a mod anymore. It'll be a standalone game that won't have need for HL2 or any source game to be installed on your computer. Worth of upgrading case fans and heatsinks?
Lu replied to ShovelsWorkWellEnough's topic in Computer Hardware
My CPU, an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 was runing at 65°C in load and could reach 71° with a benchmark. I dumped the stock intel cooler, bought some AS5 and a cheap ass thermaltake heatsink (which is not that different from the intel one) and load temperatures dropped to 45°-51°. The Hyper 212+ suggested above is an awesome budget heatsink and the thermal paste is awesome as well. The smallest tube will be good for 5 or more applications. and its cheap..
