  1. Alright, I was going to skip this post because Ecorp99 has a much more important and difficult problem. But I can't take it at this point. Stop making everything about you, there are of course exceptions like this thread or, like in Ecorp's case, when it's something truly pressing. But don't make every post something about you and disregard everyone else's posts. Also, if you torrent, SEED TO AT LEAST 1! Then there's this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/mlpgaming Like there weren't enough pony groups before! Better make another one and invite me twice! WHAT A SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. I agree with LS. Try to be as independent as you can with your money and get out of the cycle.
  2. Dare I ask what it was? I asked Bill. If it weren't for him it would have been fairly anti-climactic.
  3. You haven't seen liquid like this since your girlfriend PISSED IN YOUR FACE!
  4. Firstly, defending something against criticism makes that something stronger. Way too many people I know claim a really poorly thought out belief system. If what you believe can't stand up to criticism, it's not a very good belief. Secondly, some things are true whether you believe them or not. God cannot be both absolute and subjective. It doesn't work. And finally, I go to a christian school, so I get an interesting perspective into christian education. And I can tell you there's nothing more annoying to most of the teachers and students than flip-floppy christians. Making your own take on christianity may have been okay in the 16th century, but mixing it with new age ideas, or taking the Bible as true in some places and not in others is not considered christianity by most people here.
  5. Freeman can recite it in his sleep. There's even 'af' in the filename. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/math/b/e/a/beaf3466ba5527f398f6f1d6506e27af.png Even when the background makes it almost unreadable.
  6. I tried to make a sine joke on steam. It didn't work.
  7. I think keeping Half Life 2 as it is would be best. Mods, even just visual ones, don't feel right to me. Mods are fun of course but they aren't usually very cannon.
  8. I'm more looking for someone farther away. Not much point to another admin if they're less than three-four hours ahead/behind. Someone like Kirkreng, Jek Jek or Lord Sinister would probably be ideal. And to be honest, it's not exactly that interesting. Just remember to post announcements. Woo hoo.
  9. As I've said before, it's changed the community. High value hats make people feel superior and scammers just suck. It's like drinking unicorn blood, hats have kept tf2 active, but at what cost? Unicorns don't exist, and hat's didn't keep TF2 alive either. It's addicting gameplay is what kept it alive. The same can be said for any long lasting multiplayer game. Look at Counter Strike for example. That's been around for 10~ years and no one's buying hats for that game. I am aware of the lack of evidence for the existence of unicorns, it was a jocular statement referencing a certain text. True counter-strike is still going fairly strong considering it's age. But I doubt it's community is as large as TF2's, and CS isn't free to play. But I also don't really know what I'm talking about because I've never even played counter-strike. Maybe it's just Valve being greedy, but I think hats have had major effects on the longevity and size of the TF2 community.
  10. Not much, just killing time until my parents go to bed so I can watch/vector ponies. Looking at his physics playlist, none of those videos are explicitly about physics. Most of those video topics I either learned in chemistry or math first. :/

  13. Who needs a a truth when you have a religion/ sandvich?
  14. I MUST AGREE SIR.
  15. See? Even Srake knows I won. You can't fool the masses so easily J.C.
  16. Thank you, thank you. Please, hold your applause until after I've made my speech.
  17. I feel like I have been rushing posts lately, probably because school started and I try to really do good this time and my brain is tired. A worthy cause for a few small mistakes. Just a quick digression: I'm looking for another admin on the AF steam group. Right now is a perfect example of the problem of only having one. I'm at school and I likely won't have access to steam for several hours. Just someone that checks AF often, is active on steam and preferably someone that lives in another time zone so we're covered if Ross decides to make a post at midnight just to mess with me.
  18. It's almost like cheating, but it's not exactly. They don't change anything about the way the game plays. The point is to show people what the perfect player would be able to do. Theoretically same could be done on the original console with no tools. I had trouble finding a TAS HL2 before, I'll have to watch that later.
  19. Actually, Pascal's wager is badly damaged by the fact that there's an abundance of religions, all claiming exclusive rights to the "truth." No matter what you do, you have about the same chances of being wrong if you choose a religion as you do if you choose no religion. "Sorry, you chose one of the YHWH-based religions, but it turns out Moloch was the real God all along..." Very true. I have to wonder what the God of Christianity would do to an upstanding muslim and vice versa. "You followed the faith you had been taught since you were a child instead of randomly abandoning it for a religion you were told was false? Eternal suffering!"
  20. I'm fairly certain that's only true for the technical reasons of Rule 34. There's a lot more now than there was before FiM.
  21. Well, I'm not really sure what happened to the last two posts grammar wise, considering you two don't normally have any issues, but uh. I have a few friends that still play CoD1, admittedly not a whole lot, but I suppose that's the point. Why are you charging $20 for a game that no one plays? $20 isn't a years pay or anything, but it's not exactly cheap for people without a job. e.g. Me
  22. I first saw them... on a website and had no idea what they were considering it was a humanized image. Eventually I saw them on.. another website and decided to watch the first episode just for a laugh. Something along those lines, my memory is a little hazy. I never really considered it weird, there's a lot of stuff out that's way more "weird" than ponies.
  23. God doesn't magically come out of nowhere. He has existed forever. Which logically doesn't make much more sense to me. But the very nature of god, and infinity, isn't really possible for humans to comprehend. At least that's my understanding. Even though it's been said to the point of monotony, you cannot prove or disprove the existence of an omnipotent being, there's very little real point in debating it. Although organized religion is another story, but that doesn't lead to anything good. My lack of faith in god is probably due to my view of Occam's razor and because I don't really want to get up on Sundays. Perhaps sleeping in on Sundays isn't worth going to hell, but I'll cross that road if I come to it. Pascal's Wager is also interesting, but following that logic would mean going to church, and forcing myself to believe in something I don't. Meh.
  24. Yeah, I think you were the first brony on the forum if I'm not mistaken. By the time I joined you guys were waiting for season 2 to come out. NOW I FEEL SPECIAL. YES. It doesn't really matter when you became a brony though. Especially considering the original bronies were /b/ronies, which is sort of how I first saw it. I actually saw it somewhere else first but.. oh nevermind.
