It would be nicel if HalfLife could be made similarly to Dead Space 2, no loading screens are ever visible except when you reload a save or a checkppoint. I guess it is not one massive level but instead there is some kind of content streaming in the background. But to be honest I find the idea of one massive level for an entire game to be mighty cool.

This was unnecessary and uncalled for. Yes it is. Why have them in that particular order? Why not for example 9/11/01 + 10/03/11? Answer: Because it doesn't help support the conspiracy theory. There are many ways you can mix number orders, and choose different significant dates to work with, and change/add operators between the numbers if we look away from pure addition. You just have to do it until you run into a coincidence, which can happen fairly often given the amount of dates one could consider significant in history. Removing the first two digits from the year is also a nice trick. Trying to derive a name of a modern "villain" from a name in an old book in a desperate attempt to link the modern "villain" with hell or satan or whatever else your imagination can come up with, is something similar to this. I do agree, however, that this is a pretty impressive coincidence. Relative to casualties and sheer destruction, I think the earthquake takes the cake. But of course both events were significant and tragic.

To be honest I find same-sex marriages to be bullying christianity, I could go into how childish and illogical I feel religion/superstition is but that is not the topic. The ideals of marriage, which as far as I know was invented on the grounds of religion, only include one man and one woman in a marriage/relationship. Why not create a new concept or event of chaining people in love together that doesn't have to involve any religion or churches? Start with a new and empty canvas instead of trying to change a complex painting, the world view of radical religious folk is probably not going to change much for the next hundreds of years much like the hundreds of years already behind us.

I am done downloading the torrent but I have only seeded 2.15 MBs so far. This can not be normal, even if I limit the other activated torrents to low seed values (15 KB/s and below) uTorrent never gives Freeman's Mind "seed space". My knowledge on torrents is very limited so I got no theories.

So the date of a terrorist attack and a natural disaster added in a specific, tailored way are supposed to predict the end of the world? People who believe stuff like that need help, at least until the "end of the world" has happened and we all can move on with our lives with that date fading into the past.

It would be interesting to see how the internet society would react if girls started to be open about their gender. Perhaps when it loses its charm and becomes normal the stalking would halt.

Bad wording on my part. If you get 80 frames per second performance in a game displayed on a monitor with 60 Hz refresh rate, 20 of the frames will never be displayed. It is a good idea to use vertical synchronization (vsync) if you get very unstable framerates and "normalize" it at your monitor's refresh rate. But I recommend forcing vsync through the driver, since many games have very odd ideas on what is good vsync. Dead Space's vsync for example forces 30 FPS and adds a plethora of other issues.

Refresh rate is a feature of the monitor, the computer connected to it has nothing to do with the refresh rate. Most LCDs today are 60 Hz, but there are some 120 Hz ones. It gets even more complex and confusing when you consider that refresh rate works differently for CRTs.

Framerate above the refresh rate of your monitor is irrelevant. Any excess frames will never be put on the screen because the screen can refresh only so many times per second. It may have an effect in older games due to the way their engines are programmed. Like in Quake it was a known bug that the framerate slightly affected how high you jump.

There will definitely be a lot of media attention when doomsday draws nearer. It will be priceless to see those who genuinely believe in the end of the world see the day pass by as nothing happens. Even after that day I don't think the human race will give up on conspiracy theories or superstition just yet.
