  1. Who needs to destroy them? ASSIMILATE!!!
  2. :2_`
  3. Borg vs Cybermen, Borg win. Borg vs Dalek, Borg win. Resistance IS futile.
  4. Going and playing games for a short while, then I have to go do things.... Outside....
  5. Doesn't matter the relationship... It's nature to fall asleep in that situation, for that reason.
  6. Convection doesn't allow it, yet again. Heat doesn't stay in one place. Any extra heat you generate will spread throughout the ship, and with nothing directly contacting the ship on the outside far more will spread through the ship than radiate directly off on the side you want it. You haven't shown any evidence to support that conclusion. They'd still be clearly visible anywhere between here and the moon, and still fairly visible beyond that. Proof? Is there a programmer in the audience to explain to him why this is ludicrous? And hell, why not get a hardware guy in here to explain the other half. I'm too tired to do it tonight. I AM a hardware guy. Been doing it for 20 years. Read your own sources, you debunked yourself. I did read them. Didn't see anything that disproved what I was saying.
  7. Whatever you do, please don't go the way of D&D... Level 50 = 10000 HP, enemy super-bosses swinging for 100... OT: ;fl_iC`mV6@W,e&59N
  8. Banned for worrying about not having ideas in a "ban the person above you" thread.

  10. Borg can do that... Why not be one of them instead? They meet interesting people, and assimilate them...
  11. Nature. When you're a parent, that's the only time you can sleep. OT: Eating the previously mentioned pizza.
  12. Making a pizza... Haven't eaten in FOREVER. (6 hours)
  13. Thermoelectric does generate more heat, but only away from the side you want to cool. (net result, not a problem for my theory) I never said Ion thrusters didn't, they just put out significantly less than a standard rocket, and it is easy to lose it in the background. (talk to some of the people working at NASA, they'll tell you the same) I understand how computers work perfectly. Interfaces are a lot easier than you think, and reverse engineering our programming languages is not necessary. All you have to do is tap into the processor of one computer, and watch it run code for a few minutes to get a decent basic interface. (I've seen it done in-person twice) I'd like to see some kind of proof that the sources from actual laser researchers on Wikipedia that I looked through are false concerning blooming. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-ray_laser https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_ray_laser
  14. Star Trek Online. Daily mark bonuses are great, but they need to make them occur two or three times a day for the Romulan missions.

  17. Banned for your poor spelling, and lack of coherent ideas.
  18. And what does that have to do with the beliefs of the organization? If I donate to a group, or start one with my own money, does that mean that the group has no other focus than my belief that every piece of software, music, or video should be available to pirate? I'm sick of people looking at the few people backing an organization, and thinking the beliefs of the organization are a sham to cover their real intentions, even when the actions of said organization contradicts it. Oh, and fuck day-1 DLC, and pay to win free to play games.
  19. Sitting, and hoping my nose doesn't decide to start bleeding again.
  20. Source: Friend in the DoD. (not something I can link to online) There are a lot of things that aren't able to be sourced through the internet, and saying that it's not true because it isn't on the internet is like believing the news on TV tells the whole story all the time.
  21. "Cloaking" is nonsense. You can't stop infrared emissions through your hull. Convection. Heat itself is not infrared radiation and does not transmit solely through infrared. The heat in the ship will transmit directly to the material around it, then through it to other material, and then eventually out to the hull where it will *then* radiate off through infrared. There WILL be heat escaping through the hull. No amount of technological wizardry will change that. This is not something that can be changed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling Plate the hull with them, and run cooling tubes around the inside... You can direct the thermal energy anywhere you want it to go. (and can even be used to generate electricity when it's not cooling) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_thruster Who says they have to use rockets, or can't use something that won't show up through the stellar wind? _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Also, unless the aliens are using organic or certain optical computers, (we already have interfacing systems for binary and trinary [quantum] computers, both optical and not) we can still interface normally. (who can say with certainty they developed their computer tech radically differently than ours, and have no way to build a basic interface like we do) _____________________________________________________________________________________________ As for blooming, that is only for high-powered lasers that have constant output for long periods. It's easy to send a transmission with a low power laser or pulse laser into space, and not cause blooming. Even changing wavelengths can massively affect blooming from a laser. (using something similar to an x-ray or gamma ray laser, which would also theoretically increase the bandwidth considerably)
  22. That only happens at the much higher speeds of the APDS round, most DU rounds are not like that now. (and many are even jacketed now)
  23. Warface. The F2P game from Crytek... You can buy all the cool stuff for money, or you can earn all the useful stuff in-game. (it is NOT P2W) Remarkably fun, and a much greater focus on co-op than any other multiplayer-first or multiplayer-only game I've ever heard of. (very well done IMO, but there are still idiots that think they don't need the team to be able to run through 2 enemies with shields) Since it's still in beta, I can always forgive it for the few bugs it gets... Like periodic lag that goes away, or enemies appearing out of thin air... (the spawn triggers are either too slow, or not far enough away for some)
  24. Flying certain armed helicopters is quite fun all the way through too...
