ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: DEUS EX - INVISIBLE WAR
ScumCoder replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
You don't owe us anything. Thanks for your job. -
1) You said that you are going to postpone the sound design of The Movie until later. As far as I know, this goes against the commonly used approach, where the dialogs are recorded first and the character animation is done later, to match the already recorded voice acting. Why did you decide to do it this way? 2) Several times I noticed that the Game Dungeon title art is subtly referencing the game peculiarities from your point of view, Well of Souls being my favourite example. How is the drawing process organized? Do you describe your vision of the picture to the artist, or does he come up with his own? 3) You said that you would be glad if someone did a time index of your videochats. I did a time index for the August videochat, but it wasn't added to Youtube. Should I continue doing this? 4) Obligatory idiotic question. Suppose that you can save and load your life, just like you do in video games. What experiments would you do now that you don't have to deal with consequences?

What exactly was so 'scary' in his post? There is nothing whatsoever inherently bad in autocracy, it is a perfectly normal system which emerges naturally in big heterogeneous countries - otherwise they are torn apart by infighting (see e.g. ancient Rome starting from Caesar, Russia starting from Peter I etc). If you actually believe that Stalin/Kim Jong-il/ were man eating monsters loathed by their own people then you've watched too much American propaganda.

If you have at least a semi-decent case, taking the cover plate off will WORSEN the cooling. Usually the idea behind air cooling is to create low pressure inside the case using (at least) one fan blowing out, and then strategically place holes on the case so that they create inbound air streams that will cool heat-generating parts. At least in the case of my... er, case, the MB temperature goes UP considerably when I take the plate off. YMMV though.

When I saw the title art for this episode I laughed so hard I actually had to pause the video. Hey === Ross ===, do you describe the picture to the artist in details or just tell him the general idea? Like "this is a XIX century-ish game where a girl shoots monsters with a minigun, each of them taking a couple of minutes"?
-
I have a strong feeling that even if Ross comes up with a proper name, it won't catch on and everyone will still call the movie "The Movie".

A under the monitor is a nice touch

Wow, this is a GREAT idea on so many levels. It would allow fans to participate in Ross's work, it would put some weight from Ross's shoulders, it would give fans an opportunity to cram in a Game Dungeon episode about a game that THEY want an episode about but chances are that Ross himself won't do one. I totally would participate. Oh, another fan of Citizen Kabuto Last time I met one was about a decade ago...

Upcoming video appearance for a charity thing

Good luck indeed. (I was "one of those people"). On a side note, why do you announce time in EST, Poland is in CET timezone if I remember correctly? -
IMHO the chat was a mixed bag. Watching Ross talking about stuff was cool, but the people's questions were very disappointing. A lot of them were already asked and answered before, and many more are obvious to anyone who watched Ross's videos. (And if you didn't, why attending the chat?). Once again, kudos to @Jeb_CC for the work on FAQ. I think next time it will be reasonable to just say "sorry, that's already answered in the FAQ" when someone asks "Ross Y U moved to Poland" for the bazillionth time.

I live in UTC+3 timezone, so for me 4pm EST means midnight - almost perfect time. Can't wait for the stream.

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: THE SECRET WORLD
ScumCoder replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
The sheer awesomeness of Game Dungeon notwithstanding, I can't help but worry about The Movie. You obviously put so much effort in GD that I'm afraid it's not making as much progress as it could. And please, don't get yourself worn out like that. We need you fresh and snarky, even if that means less videos per time unit. -
Sorry, but I call bullshit. The whole charm, the whole attraction of Ross's work is that he doesn't give a f*ck on what is popular. Always remember what Stanisław Jerzy Lec said - "Shit must have a good taste, because billions of flies can't be mistaken". It doesn't matter that his videos don't have much views. The recurring success of his fundraisers proves that a small group of utterly devoted fans is much more valuable than a multimillion herd of sheeple.

Whoa I wasn't expecting so overwhelmingly negative feedback here in the blog, I mean of course this has lower standard than Game Dungeon, this was supposed to be a less time-consuming series which will allow Ross to spend more time on the movie. I gladly watched all three parts and chuckled a lot, e.g. when Ross told his theory about Toad flipping Mario off I literally had to put the video on pause to ROFL. Also Tom White isn't a bad LP partner IMO, maybe he seems less quick-witted than Ross but his own channel is interesting and I LOL'd hard on some of his videos ("Bazooka Bill" being an example). All in all, if the game itself was more entertaining, this "Moon Gaming" series would have actually been on par with GD, considering the difference in time that Ross has to put in it. Then again, I may be just an omnivorous fan of Ross (e.g. I watched his interview with Tyler McVicker two times just because it was fun).

Well I'm definitely among this handful, so thanks a bunch.
