Here's what I don't understand. At the entrance to this 'factory' was that giant water elevator thing. That means when the elevator is 'up', that little air vent thing should be flooded. Where does that water go? I remember the other end of that air vent being blocked by a grate, but at the bottom of it was some kind of moat of the green stuff. So while the elevator is up, is water being constantly drained into that moat? What kind of design choice is that?

Actually, you get melted gobs of flesh, cheese, roach and headcrab that gets blown up into teeny tiny pieces. I assume the entire factory serves a similar financial purpose as the nut cracking room and the crate smashing room.
