Mostly electronic, but it made me stop gameplay to listen to it. Favourite song?

Nuclear Mission Jam was great. I'd leave some of the soldiers alive just for the benefit of fighting while blasting that epic tune.

How come I played all the way through HL1 and heard no music? I was under the impression that it didn't have a soundtrack...

Turn up the music volume setting in the sound options. (if it's HL:S you don't need the disc to get the music)

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

Also the music integrates perfectly with the environment, The most epic songs for me are Hard Technology Rock and Diabolical Adrenaline Guitar (This last one plays several times in hl 2 an always it plays I go Berserker Mode)

Diabolical Adrenaline Guitar is good, it plays in HL2 during the airboat if I remember correctly. I don't remember it playing anywhere else though.

I don't have any music volume setting in my game D: just sound and stuff, but not music!

Vague Voices, kinda creepy, but awesome track

If it's the original Half-Life 1 on CD, you'll need to put the CD in the drive, I believe. You can also put in any music CD and it'll play it with the game.

That's why one my first experiences of Half-life had the Opposing Force expansion music. It fit dang well, I say.

Anyway, it should play the music automatically otherwise.

Diabolical Adrenaline Guitar is my favorite because it emphasizes how serious things are starting to become. For example when you find out the military is there to contain the incident and silence all the witnesses.

I don't like writer's block, I prefer to call it writer's parry.

Ah the original Half-Life's soundtrack....it's so difficult to pick a single favourite track for I like many of the tracks.

They all invoke different feelings of nostalgia in me. In a good way.

Feel free to PM me about almost anything and I'll do my best to answer. :)

I just rediscovered this game's soundtrack, when I was playing it I always liked it. I remember this song, I think it was military precision ALWAYS played when my CS files where loading or downloading, it was some kind of bug or something but I just loved it.
