I've seen a lot of improvements to multiplayer gaming, but I don't see how it has come at the cost of single player.

The thing I hate about SP/MP games are those which have shitty plots and all the focus is on the multiplayer side.

However, games with multiplayer campaigns (Portal 2, Left 4 Dead) and casual, non-competitive multiplayer games (GMod, Minecraft, Worms) are, in my opinion, more fun than Singleplayer, though it hasn't stopped me from playing Fallout: New Vegas, Super Meat Boy and all of the Half-Life games over again.

Single player is like an interactive movie. You move through an engrossing story and get immersed in it.

Multiplayer (in general) is more like a competitive sport. There's little to no story, and the goals are always simple. Kill these people, kill everyone, get this from there to there, ect.

It's really just about opinion. It's like, I enjoy watching a movie more than watching a game of football, so I'm more prone to enjoy single player.

I think for me both can be good of course, but I need both, as a competitive multiplayer game like Cs or Starcraft or Cossacks can be stuck to someone forever, A single player game will last much less unless it has a multiplayer of it's own since you can't overplay too much. But I think to make it posssible to always play both single player and multiplayer you would need a much higher ration of single player games to multiplayer games since then while you still play the same multi game you will play four single players wheras right now it's quite the opposite, which is wrong.

"When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

The number of people voting option 2 vs option 1 scares me. I don't care for multiplayer. At all. The only exception could be co-op but it is rare nowadays.

I'd say the video game market pretty much started with multiplayer. You couldn't play Pong alone.

playing against the computer is pointless, it allways cheats!

Teaching AI to make mistakes is the difficult part of programming it, I would say.

On pong i think it wouldnt be that hard, you just have to add a delay to the AI response...i think so

The future of gaming lies in realistic simulations of extraordinary realities

Never fear, my friends. Good story telling Single Player will NOT die out.

But by using hacks you have an unfair advantage over other players. And even if YOU learn from it, it is very selfish and ruins the fun for other players.

You do realize that over half of the players of MP games use hacks constantly, and that hacks come out within 2 weeks of the game's release without exception? (most games have more then 75% hacker population, like MW2/Blops)

It's an unfair disadvantage to NOT have hacks...

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

Yes, I do. But some people like to play games to challenge themselves and actually have fun while playing a game. And they should be able to do so, a wannabe hacker by using hacks takes away the ability to play the game as it is meant to be played. If someone thinks it is fun to join a game turn on (for example) an aimbot and hold down the mousebutton that is fine, but he/she should do this without affecting players that want a feeling of accomplishment when achieving something(whether that be getting a kill, getting multiple kills, reaching a level, unlocking a weapon or just plainly having fun.).

A good multiplayer game should never require you to resort to using hacks. If you have to use hacks to make the multiplayer portion enjoyable, then the game is flawed in my opinion.

I disagree. Mostly people don't use hacks because the game is flawed. Mostly it is because they are either really bad at it, get frustrated and think that using hacks will make them feel better or they get a kick out of ruining other people's games and seeing them get mad.

True, and I agree.

I never needed to use hacks to enjoy playing, I just used them to learn how others played, which made me a better player. After using the public hack (no aimbot) for a while, I could actually beat aimbotters without even using that pub.

It's a learning tool. You see where people hide, what the common tactics are, how they use cover, and learn how they move differently with the different weapons. Once you do, you no longer need the hack, and only continue using it to piss off the hackers that pretend to not use hacks.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

Well, that's what spectator mode is for, I suppose.

Spectator mode only works for what you can see, and it's rare that you can see where everyone on the battlefield is, all at once. A simple ESP hack shows you where everyone is, and gives so much more information in far less time...

Hacking isn't ever going to stop, so saying it's wrong here won't really do anything.

I know, but what you are saying is the same as saying murder will never stop therefor it we shouldn't say it is bad.
