  1. I'm aware that I'd end up with 3.5 gbs of ram instead of 4 but I'll have to read further on those issues on the GPUs. How's the AMD side looking in that regard? I've had funky experiences with AMD drivers and cards but i'd be willing to try a mid-high end card for this build if the value/performance for VR justify it. This all shakes up my plan . My problem with phones is that I HATE big phones. The biggest I've owned is Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with a 4,6 720p screen and that was still huge to me as my ideal size is the iPhone 5's. So Using a big 5' 1080p phone is still to foreign to me, much less a 5,5 4K phone. I grabbed an iPhone 6 one of these days and thought it was the Plus version just by how massive it appeared to me. That is way too much screen real state on my pocket. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to the Z5 as right now I'm rocking an iPhone 5, if Pokemon Go is as good as it looks I might end up upgrading, those high end Xperias are a lovely thing.
  2. Hey VR Right now is at a VERY early stage with only low end experiences avaliable to the consumer market like those phone headsets from Samsung and Zeiss but with Oculus, Valve, HTC and Sony jumping into the wagon soon, it's gonna get interesting. And we've seen what Oculus is capable of and HTC Vive seems promising as well, specially coming from Valve. Is anyone looking forward to getting any VR solution? I've thought about getting either the consumer Rift of the HTC Vive when they come out. I'm planning on upgrading my PC and since a GTX 970 is what is said to be the minimum for VR right now, that's what I'm getting on the video side as it's also the best I can afford and maybe later on when VR is really worth it throw in another GTX 970 to get that high def high refresh rate awesome experience. I hope an i5 4460 or 4690 will be enough and I'll be getting 8 gigs of ram. I know that's all pretty standard nowadays but I'm coming from a Core 2 Duo E7500 and a HD6750. What's your opinion on the other headsets? Many people are also looking at the option of acquiring high end phones to use with those headsets as phones such as the S6 Edge and iPhone 6S+ have lots of power and great screens.
  3. Have you guys looked into call centers? They usually don't care if you're overqualified (only qualification needed tends to be high school diploma). It's a boring job and you may or may not be takign calls from shitty people if you work on shitty accounts (example: calling people to colect debt) but some others are quite nice, you could end up doing polls on the phone or such, which is tedious but.. what job that you get into because you have no other option isn't? I'd rather work at a call center than security. By much. Idk if it's because I live in a third world country but that's what most people under 30 (and that know english) do.
  4. These work best if you start with an example so that people can follow it. Go ahead and I'll follow you
  5. It may have been Last Stand, when he calls out Adobe Flash for having terrible performance when even Crysis can run well on his system. Yeah, I think so.
  6. They are mentioned in a Game Dungeon, probably Wolfenstein but I'm not sure. He has a quad core AMD and a decent graphics card and some beefy storage but nothing too fancy really that I remember.
  7. I'd love to see 61.75. Freeman has an encounter with border patrol and due to his guns and bloody suit runs off and exchanges fire with the authorities of Norway or Chile or something and employs self-defense, again. xD Or he just finds the highway, drives off in the jeep and finds some motel and a dinner.
  8. You know, there is some form of exploitation in every product you consume. Most of out electronics are manufactured by workers in factories that violate worker's rights, have very low wages for the time they work, and often have heavy psychological consequences on their health (see Foxconn Plant incidents). And that is the tip of the iceberg. Most minerals, including Coltan, gold, silver and diamonds present in our devices are extracted from mines in Africa where guerillas are paid by multinational companies to exploit the local workers, to the point of mutilating them when they defy authority and making women systematic sexslaves. And that is just what the programmers USE to get exploited. We could talk about Nike factories exploiting children, the meat industry or anything else.. but that's just to prove that point, when it comes to the actual gaming industry I think that when this ''slavish ethic'' gets stereotyped in a field, such as programming or others it is very difficult to eliminate because part of the responsibility falls on the workers themselves wanting to work those hours (because we all need to eat), so there will always be another guy willing to crunch those hours for less money because he needs the experience or the money. and companies take advantage of this to make it a standard, save money and make bigger profit. It happens from DJs in bars and clubs to programmers in video game companies. I don't know how it can be called. .
  9. What specs are you gonna put on it? How are you choosing them? This makes me think I should have kept my pentium III or the AMD @ 267 MHz that I had before it.
  10. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981 (ASUS Z87 motherboard for $100) For brands, I'd say to stick to ASUS and Gigabyte. (they also produce some of the best boards there are for gaming) Stay away from ASRock and Biostar! I'd also recommend going at least to DDR3 1866, as there is no price difference, and you'll usually get a noticeable increase in framerate. (up to 10 FPS in some games that would otherwise be going under 45 FPS) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104461 (HyperX DDR3 1866 4x4GB for $85) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233278 (Corsair DDR3 1866 4x4GB for $89) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231617 (G.SKILL low latency DDR3 2133 4x4GB for $95) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231671 (G.SKILL DDR3 2400 4x4GB for $95) *my recommendation for you* http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233778 (Corsair DDR3 2400 4x4GB for $95) Finally, DO NOT GET THE 970!!! Get 960's, or a 980, but don't even consider the 970. (there is a MAJOR flaw in the memory design that causes a drop to 5-10 FPS in certain games that should be going at 60+ FPS) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007709%204814%20600358543%20600007787%20600565061%20600559642%20600536050%20600374090%20600007797%20600537575%208000 (here's a decent list, stick to ASUS, EVGA, and Gigabyte for the best results IMO) I cannot deploy so much money just on a GPU man :S.The 960 is good right now but I'm going for some future-proofability and I still wanna be able to crank things up to high in a couple years. Can you provide me with some more info? I checked some reviews oon youtube and nobody even mentioned it. The mobo is really good, probably what I will get

Welcome to the staff, my brother. You're now a scarecrow of the farm.
  13. It would be amazing if the artists shared the images in high res for wallpaper use or personal prints, the ones in this episode are all great, and they deserve some recognition for belonging to these somewhat obsucre games (Nyet III has new art, when was the last time that happened?)
  14. Guys, I'm Still rocking the following: Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 GHz @ Stock 4 GB of Corsair DDR2 ram AMD HD6750 1GB some 1,5 tb of storage on 2 drives Cooler Master CM690II Basic Case (With extra LED fans) Corsair CX500 500 PSU I need to upgrade to run GTA IV. I plan to get a i5 4960, 8 gigs of DDR3 1600, a 970 but I'm still not sure on the motherboard as I haven't kept up with the latest in most reliable brands and new features in motherboards, I've used budget chipsets for my builds (this is an embarrasing G31 that I didn't even list up there) and had some bad experiences with reliability so I'd like to avoid that but still don't go into premium territory. What are your suggestions?
  15. You're totally not paranoid, BTG. You're just being paranoid.
  16. There are also some really crappy things going on. The US is rapidly going towards a path where it will approve TiSA and the TPP, which are highly detrimental for the rights of the people and governments facing the invasion of the private companies into the primary-service level market. On top of having Wallmart competing to sell you water and electricity, they'll be able to sue your government for ''not fairiness of bussiness'' or some bullshit and establish monopolies. Leaks keep coming out about US spying on basically everyone now, which is gonna severe diplomatic relationships one way or the other.. Please watch this:
  17. I did ask Ross about his opinion on the Trans-Pacific Partnership being negotiated by the obama administration, th UE and like 20 other countries. I also asked Ross if he had ever had oxycodone/2 shots of vodka for breakfast, and he laughed his ass of when he read the question but Tyler didn't ask him. Btw you can listen to the whole thing right here: http://www.twitch.tv/valvenewsnetwork/b/670170942
  18. Youtuber ValveNewsNetwork (Tyler) is interviewing Ross LIVE on Twitch right now! Iguess the interview will be avaliable at the same link afterwards, here! http://www.twitch.tv/valvenewsnetwork
  19. He'll read it, but it may take some time. Or you can just PM him or email him, or PM HLprincess eho is far more active than Ross, she'll deliver the message.
  20. Give us a budget and we will shoot sone ideas at you (: I advise emphasizing in storage and ram as its a production machine, you,ll likely be multitasking and storinf lots pf sessions. If your budget allows it you should put some effort into backups as well. For the build you can go with an affordable 6 or 8 core amd as productivity apps tend to take advantage of 4 cores (idk if more). You dont need a big graphics card either, sonething capable like a GTX 750 should drive the monitors and apps just fine, and let you play TF2 in 1080p or something
  21. I´d love Ross to review F-Zero X and F-Zero GX for the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube respectively, they´re AWESOME racing games, kind of neglected by Nintendo as a franchise, really tightly made games and the later difficulties get hard, jump on an emulator if yo want, you won´t be dissapointed. There´s lots to talk about, of course
  22. Nobody suffers from insanity BTG, you´re just being paranoid.
  23. I did not have a 2 year period of absence, BTG. You´re just being paranoid.
  24. Your life isn´t interesting to the intelligence agencies BTG, you´re just being paranoid.
  25. ''My name is ROSS SCOTT OF HE INTERGALACTIC HOUSE OF PANCAKES ORDERING YOU TO BOW!! YES! IT WORKED!'' I can see that happening while ross weares one of those robes and holds a staff like a wizard king.
