lol, I agree... Science and math always seemed to go together for me to... I find classic rock to be best when trying to find solutions to problems I am having trouble fully understanding, and dubstep/electronica to be most beneficial when writing/composing text or just thinking in logical ways. (or for being fast but precise in actions, like getting a record speed for an RV oil change at the shop I was working at) Clint Mansell composes epic relaxation music, so I generally listen to that when I want to sleep or just think and process the events of the day without becoming lost in them. (it helps keep me from dwelling on what I could've done differently) Pink Floyd piques my creativity, and helps me to make sense of political actions, and also keeps me from being suicidal when I feel like it. Pop music makes me homicidal toward whoever put it on. Don't ever let anyone tell you that they aren't ever affected by music, everyone is even if they refuse to admit it. (many are affected differently though, so find out what makes you tick on your own)

Very well thought out, and very logical deductions... I don't think each targets a different system, but each is supposed to create endorphins in the brain, endorphins cause faster brain processing, and the net result is that people generally feel like they're smarter when listening to music. http://kdvr.com/2013/09/11/study-listening-to-music-while-studying-could-enhance-intelligence/ Keep in mind that the music affects people differently, so stuff like the "science, humanities, and language" audio (I refuse to call it music) may not work for you, but might be substitute for other genres based on your appreciations.

The Galil is a modified AK-47, not AK-74... Galil is a bit more refined design, but slightly less reliable. (can't fire with sand in the chamber like the AK-47)

Good source, and yes I do believe similar is happening in many other countries. -
Indeed, and they updated it to use the 5.56mm NATO round sometime in the mid-90's... Makes the ammo a lot more plentiful.

Good top 100 list of single player FPS RPG games
BTGBullseye replied to icthulu's topic in Gaming in general
And every modern FPS is included in that type of upgrading scheme. Some RPGs don't use experience points (or something like them) at all. As for the rest, yes I included 2 that aren't FPS, but are RPG... (Red Faction is an RPG, despite what you might think) And that doesn't mean anything at all. You're taking offense when none was given, and you're taking a list way too personally. CHILL THE FUCK OUT DUDE! -
Banned for being too young.

No, too stupid. I was instilled with the OCDs of an English professor at a young age, and it irks me when the meaning of established words are changed to mean the same as another established word, all for the purpose of sounding "cool". (I know, a bit hypocritical of me to use slang terminology from pre-80's without dislike, and loathe anything newer, but that's just how it goes) I didn't have any problem when they came up with the word "bling" simply because it was never a word previously, and because there was no other word that accurately described what it did. (expensive, ostentatious clothing and jewelry, or the wearing of them) If the word is appropriating the meaning of another word for no reason other than to "sound cool", it doesn't deserve to be used or accepted.

M-16 uses a 5.56mm bullet, the AK-47 uses a 7.62mm round. Some might consider the AK superior, (and it very much is for reliability) and others would consider the M-16 superior... (and it is somewhat for range and accuracy) It all depends on what you want to use it for, where you want to use it, and how each feels to you when you test it. (each person is different, and some will prefer one over the other for no reason but how it feels in their hands) Me personally, I wouldn't ever take an M-16 over an AK, just because I prefer reliable firearms over almost everything else. (basic functionality for the desired purpose, then reliability, then quality of construction) I just can't get over the issues they had with the original M-16's in Vietnam; the soldiers had to keep 2 rounds less in their magazines just to keep it from jamming all the time.

You're taking a statement of fact way too personally... If I was attacking you it would've been much clearer. I didn't even say that they shouldn't go on the list, if you read my post all the way to the end of it's single sentence... (the OP did request "non-RPG" FPS games as well if you read the post all the way through) I like to try and educate people when it appears that they are not familiar with certain things that I am familiar with. (like genre separation, FPS/RPG/TPS/TBS/Strategy/Sim/Racing/etc.) I also misused the word "preclude" in my previous post... It's more of a "didn't list it as not matching a specific genre" than a preclude situation. -
Banned because I'm sure I feel older than you.

You shall all fall before the might of Chaotica!

I'm not particularly fond of 90's either...

Going after rabbits, use a .22lr. Going after boar, depends on how far away you want to be from the boar when you shoot it. A .44 magnum would be decent short-range, as would many semi-auto/pump shotguns. Longer ranges, I'd go for anything bigger than a .22. (almost anything will do, just don't go overboard with something like a Barret .50) Make sure you're using hollow points if you go for a rifle for boar. (non HP tends to just pass through without killing unless you're a really great aim)

Payday isn't really an RPG... It's just an FPS with a complex goal system. Witcher 2 isn't an FPS, but I didn't preclude it because it was in the OP's list already. (and who am I to argue with his list?) -
I get 4 seconds from send request (click on page link) to full page loaded. Not long at all for something with embedded video.
