See, Foal took the INTERNAL link, when he should be taking the direct EXTERNAL link, if you go to the folder (hopefully in public) where this is in Windows Explorer, right click on the file and click "Copy Public Link", that's the link you have to post. I mean, I did that when I posted a mp4, it just had too much traffic.

Yeah, I'm not getting volume drops, it's this way naturally. It annoys me so much, I don't even know where to begin. And this is my GOOD mic. It really is just amplification making it sound like crap, plus the mp4 also compresses it, but it's nearly inaudible when you just record it.

That's partially because of the amplification and final compression of audio, otherwise I have to shout into my damn mic before it gets anything. Even before the amplification, I had to boost it up by 30 dB because otherwise, there's NOTHING. (good news; that part is clear as day) Also, I agree on the droning voice thing, I'll be sure to improve that. But back to the quality front, I at least can now record at 96KHz so if I save that as WAVE, then I'll have high quality audio. Also, there was a part where I swapped mics, it's really noticable because I got sick from the initial recording to the other one. My recording software is Adobe Audition 3.

There, I finally did the thing and now I have a video. Now just to figure out a good compression ratio and put it up online because it's 300MB and 480p and barely over 5 minutes.

I have an idea how that would work, but the issue here is that it would have to be either in 480p or really crappy 720p unless Ross decides to reupload the old episodes in 720p after the new year. Thing is, I personally can't do it because even though I have the technology, my PSU is DOA and I'm going to send it in any day now for repairs. Until I get a replacement, I can't use my video card to render, so it has to be all on my itty bitty processor, which takes forever if it has any real form of compression. So for now, I'm out.

It could be, but it's a really complicated method that requires an entirely new original method of rendering and since a lot of models are just polygons, you're going to have to redesign the development of those, too. Considering that models are a series of very many dots with triangles being the best shape for them, this will be a giant undertaking that nobody wants to do because it needs money, space, and a large team of experiences developers or at least 2 John Carmacks. Anyway, I'm heading off to bed while cursing at how my PC's audio dialog managed to get a memory leak from Adobe, causing everything to sound like shit. Still interested how it happened, though. I can see Premiere getting a memleak, hence why my PC has more RAM than Ross's, but audiodg? Reason for my RAM amount is... well, I have 12GB RAM, which helps with uncompressed video, and several hours of video in small files because of firewire issues. 29 minutes is just barely over 6GB, I think you can guess how much several hours of video is worth. So yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm calculating how much RAM I need to feed my hungry crappy beast of a PC.

They're only 480p until the shift to HD that happened when Ross got his SSD. Honestly, I kind of want Ross to have a new i5 and a 980 but I don't have the money for that. Anyway, just get a program that downloads YouTube videos like 4K video downloader except not crap (yarr harr I guess) and then just download them all.
