well personally I agree with you Alyxx, it's clearly not him. But it's ok I found a solution to this issue, In the game when you get the crowbar just head back to the scientists, when you meet them again just smack the white scientist repeatedly until dead. THERE Problem solved, easiest solution to anything...kill it

Then use good ol' "give monster_scientist" to spawn one with the Kleiner model.

I have the perfect comeback. A Spaz-12.

But he wasn't because he stopped working at MIT to work at Black Mesa, and was there when the Resonance cascade happened....

(and is also the scientist next to Eli)

I mean the "Eli" model looks and sounds nothing like Eli from HL2 anyway, everyone just accepts it's him because he's the only black model. If that guy can turn into today's Eli then I'm sure the Einstein model can turn into Kliener.

Ok ya but in Hl1 there was only 1 black scientist model so, who else would it be. Besides the point is there IS a kleiner model in HL1, but the character laidlaw chose be to be kleiner is the einstein model....so the point is...What the hell that's not kleiner. But As I said the Easiest solution to this Canon issue is to just kill the scientists....kill everyone.

Various sources claim that you never actually meet Barney in the game, you only see him at the very beginning banging at the door with his flashlight. Maybe it's likely you actually never meet Kleiner either, even if you meet several people who COULD be him.

Well. What about the scientist with the shotgun? He could be who Dr. Kleiner. or Dr. Kleiner was late too?

Doubt that the one with shotgun is Kleiner, because when you go through that area in Opposing Force everything is exploding, so he is probably dead.

Read other comments! Opposing Force isn't canon.

Technically it's neither canon nor non canon. Mark Laidlaw said that if they were to ever include Shephard in future games, or just decided it was canon, it would happen. But atm it's pretty much non canon, but might be made canon at some point.

Guys, I seriously think you should start reading the combine overwiki.

http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/OverWiki:Canon

"The Half-Life series canon has never been officially defined by Valve, and probably never will. Series' writer Marc Laidlaw stated that they do not "get involved in issues of canonicity", that "canon itself is non-canon", and that there is "no official stance", "just the games" as they are.[1] "Canon itself is non-canon" emphasizes the fact that a few to no plot points are set in stone and that they can change anything during the development of further games, the aim being to have a good game before having a good story.
