Theres no other Civil Protection based machinimas out there, other than Combine Nation, that measure up to Ross Scotts work with CP.

If you like a continuous story, you should keep an eye out for "Shelf life". They've only gotten around to releasing the first episode, but the project is not dead and their work is really impressive.

I bring you mortal danger and cookies. Not necessarily in that order.

I think maybe you could do both if Ross is very clever. Part of what makes FM good is the anticipation of how the next part will go and I understand what Kaapo wants (I think) and if adding a 'what happens next' dynamic to CP makes it more appealing then you should, but maybe not as cut and dried as FM. Maybe, cleverly, Ross could add a section somewhere in the middle of every CP episode that refers to or leads into the story of the following CP episode while still keeping the current episode a story of its own. That way you could watch the CP episode and speculate based on what happens in the episode what the next episode might be about. This could generate more forum posts and everyone could get in on the speculation (just as everyone does about FM).

I admit it might be hard to keep up with because in every episode made Ross would have to look ahead to his next episode in order to 'hide' the clues.

Just a thought. What do you think?

He is definatly going to make the next CP a sequel to the Tunnel. I don't think he would just leave it off right there... that was way too much of a cliffhanger

Honestly? No, I don't think so. So far the CP series have just been a show without much continuity. Each episode is standalone like in old cartoons. And I prefer it to stay that way. Instead of trying to force his ideas to work within a continuity, I think he should just let each episode revolve around an idea and make it more like a sketch show. That's what I like about it in the first place. But yeah, it is likely he'll make a sequel to The Tunnel, at least I hope so.

I think making CP contiguous would limit the number of truly funny episodes. I don't want CP to end up like Red vs Blue. I still think the RvB can be funny but the first episodes were more devoted to actual comedy and weren't clogged with pure storyline.

It's comedy, and it's being done just how comedy should be done.

I say there can be a few things carried on between episodes like reoccurring events etc., but other than that each episode should have its separate storyline.

CP is a sketch comedy, it should stay that way.

It's not going to get a continuous storyline for several reasons. First, it's very limiting in having to pick up exactly where the last episode left off. If I want to get into more exotic ideas or want to jump around in time, the format doesn't lend itself to that. Second, it requires viewers to have to watch the previous episodes in order to fully enjoy a new one. I prefer people with NO background on the series being able to watch any of the episodes and enjoy them. Finally, I think it's a little less predictable this way. You can't just skip ahead and watch the next episode and know what happened, it's self-contained.

However, I have ideas for CP that would take a lot of time to play out and would be closer to movie-length, so while some episodes will be sketch comedy, I hope EVENTUALLY I'll be able to make ones with much more of a storyline to them.

Also, it would make no sense to suddenly add a continuity to a show that has so far had none of it. It would make it seem very jarred and, let's face it, non-continous.

I'm sorry, but watching them recover in the hospital for a month after every single injury that they receive... Would just be boring.

Maybe just one hospital episode would be fine, but I'm sure there are far more interesting subjects for the episodes.

Also, not every line has to be a joke, you know...

I guess the only thing we can assume then is, they escape somehow. We probably won't ever see it in a video but, whatever. I'm fine with that.
