I like the Big Bang Theory, Walking Dead, Friends, Medical Detectives, Law and Order *.*, Dexter, Stargate *.*, Ghost Hunters *.*, Destination Truth, Fact or Faked, Ashes to ashes. The TV is always on in the background, as I read or mess around in my bedroom.

I actually liked the twilight saga (the first book specially) All kidding aside, I found the writing style particularly refreshing and agile. Same thing happened to me with the Harry Potter books.

Mhmm... not yet, maximum speed 'round these parts is 30 Mbps (I have 15). Maybe in a year or so, I hear they are implementing FTTH (fiber to the home).

This is very weird. I made a comment here a couple of days ago, and now is gone... Anyone wanting to take credit for that?

Probably not for a long, long time. The brain works using a "distributed computing" approach, were neurons all over the place light up for each action. It is true certain areas have been identified as being closely related with a lot of specific functions (humor, sadness, short term memory, long term memory, different motor functions and senses) using techniques such as fMRI, but this is all very broad approach. Identifying a single memory, accessing or implanting a specific piece of knowledge, could require electro chemical manipulation as granular as single neuron level. Other than a cloud of nano machines monitoring and interacting at the cellular level (and the very existence of those, working in a coordinate fashion to achieve this functionality, is currently a wild dream in itself), I don't see how it could be done.

Well, all kidding aside, I hope you're right. But I'm not holding my breath.

If BM ever gets released, I'll eat my hat... well, not really, but I will chew on it vigorously and then post the masticated result here.

Give me about 20 fully upgraded siege tanks, 20 battle cruisers and 4 Thors and I shall kick their zerg infested covenant asses.

That would be the simplest explanation. The reality is much, much worse* * Points for naming the movie.

I think this discussion is really just and academic exercise. Black Mesa is vaporware at it's best

Whoa. Head rush. Nevertheless, I've found compelling evidence on the interwebs to support the fact that both Gordon Freeman and the G-Man have been spotted on the Large Hadron Collider. Also, the G-Man is clearly Christopher Walken.

Yeah, Skyline was a very, very, very, very, very BAD movie, with a couple of epic sequences (like the drone attack on one of the ships). I'm still trying to convince the gf to go see Sucker Punch... I think I'll have to bribe her.

Right now I'm watching the MAX PAYNE Movie and wondering why I keep seeing posts appear, when there are no registered users... perhaps people are going invisible or marked me as a foe

Mhmm. Anyone ever heard of Urotsukidoji? I know it's a bit old... and weird... and perverted.... but Amano Jyaku is the man!

From Wikipedia: A technological singularity is a hypothetical event occurring when technological progress becomes so rapid that it makes the future after the singularity qualitatively different and harder to predict. Many of the most recognized writers on the singularity, such as Vernor Vinge and Ray Kurzweil, define the concept in terms of the technological creation of superintelligence, and allege that a post-singularity world would be unpredictable to humans due to an inability of human beings to imagine the intentions or capabilities of superintelligent entities. There's a really good book by Charles Stross called Singularity Sky that deals with this subject, you should check it out. If you ask me, I'm somewhat skeptical on the whole AI subject. I've implemented fuzzy logic controllers, trained neural networks and played a bit with genetic algorithms. Nothing in these methods really approaches intelligence and creative problem solving. They are all either brute force computations, trial and error tunning or fixed algorithms and probability curves.

You guys are destined to do this over and over again.... EDIT: As I posted this, I got the "Forums Unavailable" message again. If you'll excuse me gentlemen, I'll go bang my head against the wall for a few minutes.

I downloaded Blender and I'm watching the tutorials. It's been years since I tried this stuff.

Thank you, you're all too kind. I'll post others later. Meanwhile, here's another one of my pet animated gifs.

OK, I made these back in 2002, when I was unemployed, had no money, no decent internet connection, no drawing skills whatsoever (that one is still true today) and a lot of time on my hands. Click on the images to enlarge. DOG CLOCK FEAR FIRE I have more, but I think I'll wait to see the reaction to these

I'm thinking perhaps you don't need to line up the walls of the entire room with whatever material you choose to use (egg cardboard boxes, acoustic foam, etc). Maybe building a small sound-proof box around your PC would be enough (I hope you are not claustrophobic), by attaching the material to large sheets of hard carton. That should provide enough structural integrity when positioning it. You have to be careful though, when using flammable materials in close proximity with electric equipment. I don't think he's in Poland...

Yeah, it was good. Liked the fact that they didn't have all the super advanced technology just yet and had to do a lot of things the old fashioned way. And they cancelled it just when it was getting interesting, with the birth of the Federation.
-
Yeah. They changed it a couple of years ago, because they thought it would be more appealing to the audiences.... Go to http://www.syfy.com for more bullcrap

I'm watching mega-piranha on the Syfy Channel. It's so bad, it's almost good. After that.... mega-snake... also on Syfy
