Legalising Marijuana and Other Drugs
danielsangeo replied to Kyon's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Why? -
That one's kind of off-topic, but, why not. I'll quickly explain. Agnosticism comes from the root word "gnosis" meaning "knowledge". Atheism comes from the root word "theos" meaning "belief". I am an agnostic atheist, meaning that, on the subject of God, I don't know and I don't believe. Until I get some evidence, I can't know and can't believe. An agnostic theist would be someone that doesn't know but believes.

The golden rule. Which itself was stated by Jesus Christ. When he said it, it was about the first time anyone had every been directly taught to think that way. Thus the continuation of being "Good" whilst not believing in God, also requires inheriting a statute of Christianity. Interesting. It was not started by Jesus. The Golden Rule pre-dates humans and was written as far back as possibly 2182 BCE, such as in "The Eloquent Peasant", which stated "Now this is the command: Do to the doer to cause that he do." Confucius back sometime between 551 BCE and 479 BCE wrote, "Here certainly is the golden maxim: Do not do to others that which we do not want them to do to us." The Golden Rule began a long time ago, but was popularized by the New Testament and attributed, later, to Jesus... I will not debate the merits of Christianity, any other religion, or atheism, though. Just pointing it out.

There's a correlation between CO2 and the warming temperatures that's it. It means nothing. Actually, there's a lot more to it than that. The vast majority of the people believe that gravity is a force that 'pulls' you to the ground. Does that mean that it doesn't exist? There is loads of evidence for it. Anyone who thinks that nature should be saved at the expense of human well being hates production and capitalism. Well, good. Environmentalists don't think that nature should be saved at the expense of human well being. I'd really like to hear. I'd really like to believe that people don't want to destroy human progress, but I haven't seen a single environmentalist who is pro-capitalist since on their faces, their conflicting theories. You haven't been listening to them. You've been hearing what they say and reading their words, but you haven't been listening. Off topic, aren't those conflicting theories? Why would they be? Where did THAT come from? People are getting mad at Canada since we're not following the Kyoto accord. To follow the accord, the government would have to put even more restrictions on us. Do you believe that I, as a person, have the right to protect myself from harm?

Walmart doesn't even technically exist. It has no form. It has no shape. It is completely intangible. The people have rights, but Walmart, itself, not even technically existing, does not. It is a legal concept, nothing more.

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
danielsangeo replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
I particularly like from Episode 35: "Well, obviously SOMETHING happened. I woke up in a trash compactor again." -
None of the above. Atheist.

I've always advocated individual rights being upheld; this is no way comes with the right to own slaves. Do you have Asperger Syndrome? I ask, because people who do take things extremely literally. No, I do not have AS. A person has a gender. Walmart has no gender. It is NOT, for all intents and purposes, a person. It does not live. It does not breathe. It is not a member of the Homo sapiens species. It is not a person. At all. Walmart is a fictional construct invented by government to allow specific persons to organize for protection of various things. The corporation exists to create a wall of legal liability; stockholders, directors, officers aren't typically liable for a company's debts and obligations, for example. It is not a person. It's not taking things extremely literally. It's a legal concept created by government, not a person, not even for all intents and purposes.' But, thanks for asking if I have a psychological condition. Real classy.

Not really. There is solid evidence and the vast majority of the scientific community on climatology shows that anthropogenic climate change is happening. Not really. No. Protesting a factory has nothing to do with hating capitalism and human production. Dude, I'm an environmentalist. And I can say, flat out, that you're just 100% wrong. Great. No need to cut back on production. I realize you don't understand this, but environmentalists are very pro-capitalist. If you'd like, I can explain why, but first, you need to assure me that you'll listen to an environmentalist such as myself. Where did THAT come from?

Original Legend of Zelda is superior over all the other ones, but LoZ 3 and OoT are good, too.

First of all, as Axel said, we've already discussed this. Second of all, WHY?! -

Like the pirate themed one, Ross could have a stereotypical spaghetti western themed one where he only uses the revolver. He speaks in this drawl, spits a lot, and keeps thinking back to his home, home on the range. Maybe once he gets outside in Surface Tension or sum'n.

The Tunnels Pt. 2 "Was It just a Dream?"
danielsangeo replied to devilk870's topic in Civil Protection
My idea is that the next CP will be Mike and Dave being back to their normal routine and never mentioning the Tunnel thing. It seems that they get into these kinds of predicaments a lot. And then there's that one time that Mike brought his pet Gargantua to work...."His name's Scraps!" -
Thank you very much! That actually makes much more sense now! Updated the subtitle file. Again, thanks!

Ross: Should Black Mesa come out before you're done with Freeman's Mind, will you still skip over to BM? Or will you just stay in HL: Source for the remainder of Freeman's Mind?

I wonder if there'll be a reference to the "garbage mashers on the detention level". "Hey, open the pressure maintenance hatch on unit number--where are we?--326827!"

Sure, Infringement: an encroachment or trespass on a right or privilege. Also defined as: a breach or infraction, as of a law, right, or obligation; violation; transgression. Like it or not, forcing people to register their guns or lose their right to own them is infringement. Forcing people to attend training courses that they will be paying for out of pocket just to obtain permission to purchase / own a gun is Infringement. While I said that I agree with training let me tell you what I had to go through just to get my class A license. First I had to fill out the application form my local police station, then I had to pay to attend a one day training course ($100). After that I had to present my certificate as well as a $100 check to the town in ordered to start the process. I was interviewed by a detective, fingerprinted, photographed and had to be added to the FBI's database. after which I was given the license on the spot and sent on my way. Now let me tell you what buying a gun is like. Drive to the store, the guys where I shop are very friendly and polite. browse a bit and make your choice. then you have to fill out an request for purchase form (Can't remember what it's called) on it you go through a barrage of questions and after that has been filled out the store clerk fills out his own section on the form and then you have to place your finger on the electronic scanner, your print is instantly sent to the FBI's national criminal database and a thorough background check is run. If you have a single arrest or any criminal history for that matter, you have to wait five days or more to collect you firearm while they run a more extensive background check. If no criminal record is present then you can leave with your purchased weapon. Considering all that one must go through to acquire a gun I don't believe that more laws and restrictions would have any real effect on crime. If you feel otherwise ask yourself this: Is punishing the majority for the crimes committed by a few the correct way to deal with crime? I'm still failing to see how a licensing and training program is infringement since no one is telling you that you can't buy one. I bring out cars because they have a licensing and training program and it's not even for a weapon. And there are over a billion vehicles worldwide and over 200 million in the United States alone. So, licensing and training programs for cars have not infringed on anyone's right to drive. I don't see how a licensing/training program encroaches on anyone's right to own a gun. Yes, you have to go through a lot to get a gun, but you have to go through a lot to do things in this country. I went to get an apartment. I was in the rental office for three hours filling out paperwork. Getting a license to drive takes forever and a day. And these are completely harmless things. This isn't "punishment", it's just the way things are and it protects everyone involved. A loan from a bank takes five days or more, sometimes, to get. How about buying a house? None of these extraordinarily long and drawn out processes are "punishment". Complaining about the necessary things that you have to pay out of pocket to do something where you're buying something seems, to me....I dunno..petty?

Hidden Danger in our daily world
danielsangeo replied to ProHypster's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
The sun will only be a viable option for another few billion years, so technically it can run out Hehehe...The human race would've far evolved beyond the point of Homo sapiens by that point. -
I'll thank you for not insulting me in the future. Also, do you have any evidence of anything you just claimed?

Hidden Danger in our daily world

I personally believe that we should be going whole hog into renewable energy sources. If you can "run out" of something, then that's not a viable energy source in my opinion.
