  1. The electronic aspect just reminds me of 8-bit and 16-bit music... Also, it reminds me of when my Dad wrote the entire 1812 Overture in GW-BASIC. (you could play notes for specific durations in Basic, so he did that to pass the time one week, still have the code laying around on an old 5.25" floppy somewhere) Similar resultant sounds to my ear.
  2. Oddly enough I had heard of it, but most people thought it was a reference to the Wayward Son movie... OT: Looking for a fix for Far Cry 3 to disable certain visual effects. (like the SSAO that won't turn off for some reason)
  3. The Simpsons!
  4. So am I, but skepticism isn't judgement, and I'm going to have it until I see it for myself.
  5. Far Cry 3... The pirated one... Haven't gotten around to buying it legit... Still haven't seen any indication that they have or ever will fix certain issues with the post effects that can't be disabled (even in the settings files, I've been trying since I torrented the game) that my system has. (makes the sights unusable when facing certain directions due to blur) Until there's a fix for my issues, I won't buy it. (yes, that is the only complaint I have on it since patch 1.05)
  6. I don't recommend AMD GPUs or other hardware because their QC has issues, (having the newer chips slowly burn themselves out is amazingly common) and because their drivers are crap. (usually OpenCL isn't even functional with AMD drivers) Pay a little less now if you want, but an extra couple dollars will get you a much better product. Also, bear in mind that for a performance comparison, take the number of CUDA cores on a GeForce and multiply them by 4 and compare the Radeons that have that (or close to that) number of stream processors. Also, PhysX isn't the only difference in capabilities between the brands, AMD just wants people to think it is... (makes it easier to get people to buy their stuff) GeForce cards have an interesting way of doing the processing, and as a result it makes is far easier to do anti-aliasing on Nvidia, about 3/4 the strain that you'd get on a Radeon. Sorry I can't find a decent NZ site that lists local prices to people in the USA... Ram upgrade recommendations: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104387 | Kingston HyperX Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) [$57 USD] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313345 | Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) [$57 USD] PSU recommendations: (take your minimum wattage need and add 25% or you're going to burn out your PSU very fast, unless it's a "continuous") http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148046 | APEVIA ATX-CB700W 700W [$40 USD] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148048 | APEVIA ATX-AP800W 800W [$60 USD] GPU recommendations for Radeon: (if you're dead-set against GeForce for some reason) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102994 | SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6570 1GB [$50 USD] (about 3/4 the performance of the GT 630 I mentioned) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161427 | HIS iCooler Radeon HD 7750 2GB [$80 USD] (next step up from the 6570, and still only about 3/4 the performance of the GT 640, only benefit is extra RAM, but that's almost useless if you're not running extremely high-rez textures) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202011 | SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB [$105 USD] (Again, 3/4 the performance of the GTX 650, except with less RAM, again RAM size is almost pointless above 1GB if you're not running very high-rez textures) *example of RAM above 1GB* I have a 2GB GT 630m in my laptop... I run a heavily modified, and much higher resolution textured version of Fallout New Vegas, and the GPU RAM usage is around 40% in unmodified at highest game-capable graphics settings, but after modding it to be much higher it maxes at 65%. (40% of 2GB is 819MB, 65% is 1331MB) *end of example* I hope this helps...
  7. I upvoted it. Can't wait for it to become available...
  8. A game that does nothing but beat you down in a schoolyard. Tropico.
  9. 1842 - Commonwealth v. Hunt: the Massachusetts Supreme Court makes strikes and unions legal in the United States. Giuseppe Verdi's (Joe Green to you) third opera Nabucco premieres in Milan; its success establishes Verdi as one of Italy's foremost opera writers. Anesthesia is used for the first time in an operation (Dr. Crawford Long performed the operation using ether). Income Tax Act establishes the first peacetime income tax in the United Kingdom; 7 pence in the pound, for incomes over 150 pounds. James Nasmyth patents the steam hammer in the United Kingdom. The Treaty of Nanking ends the First Opium War and establishes Hong Kong as a British colony. Britain will de-colonize the territory in 1997. English palaeontologist Richard Owen coins the name Dinosauria, hence the Anglicized dinosaur.
  10. Nappa castrate antidisestablishmentarianism rampaging rhino with Bill Gates, and pie very him zany. (I thought about using a word that has 1909 letters, but decided against technical words)
  11. Banned for hating on eating.

  13. Used to have boobs in avatar.
  14. ^^^ There aren't that many 3.5" floppies left in the world. ^^^ New game, literally kills you in real life at the end. EA, Activision, and Valve forgo all other development until this game makes $1 trillion. (mandatory life insurance policy to own the game)
  15. "If you move just a little to your right, it looks like I'm holding my head in my hand."
  16. "Right... Another useless hunk of metal for me to carry around. Wait, where am I putting all of my guns right NOW?!?" He manages to commandeer a tank...
  17. Destroy the planet, (physically render the crust uninhabitable by anything, even in bunkers) and rebuild it without the asshole politicians. Am I sick, or do I just have a pinched nerve?
  18. 8/10 (no boobs) Kinda figured you'd say that...
  19. Did I just do something?
  20. Definitely one you've never heard of. You might be surprised... OT: Trying to figure out if I'm coming down with something, or if it's just a pinched nerve. (also drinking a sarsaparilla while leaning back and relaxing)
  21. I'll touch on that... Most people don't discuss it because the reasons for liking or disliking a style of music usually would fall under the category of "politically incorrect" and many times could be insulting to certain ethnic or religious groups. I like ultra heavy dark metal because it's kinda like committing suicide, only without the dying part. (in other words, it helps make life go away for a while) I like electronic for it's relation to 8-bit music. (8-bit is the grandparent, electronic is the grandchild, and dubsep is the infant lovechild of electronic and every other genre) I like dubstep for the above reason, and generally like all forms of it if it's done well. I like certain country music. (not the repeated stupid lyric "blues-like" love songs, the good stuff) I like blues. (not the jazz that claims to be blues, real blues) I like certain types of jazz. (not the stuff that claims to be blues, as previously stated) I like some rap. (not the stuff that's all about making money at the cost of everyone and everything else) I like the rare few R&B (that's modern blues to the lay people) that isn't trying to be jazz. I like classical. (can't beat a good Beethoven or Tchaikovski for getting an emotion transmitted through your ears) I'll listen to classic rock or oldies all day, any day. (grew up with it, even got a decent Bon Jovi concert when my Mom was at 8 months, always makes me feel at home) I can't stand pop music. (meaningless fluff that only makes 13 year old girls feel anything, and usually because they don't have a brain yet) Can't stand any of the demonic/witchcraft lyric songs. (even if I can't understand the lyrics, and have no idea, it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end) No feelings either way about songs that focus on murder or mutilation. (don't ask why, I don't have a clue) Don't care for songs solely focused on sex, cheating on a significant other, or rape. (just feels like listening to them is too close to doing the deed) Rather like songs that focus on drug use. (generally the songs were written under the influence, and that tends to improve the mood by a lot) I like suicide songs. (makes me feel like I'm not alone in wanting it all to end if it won't get better) I feel like I'm missing some, so feel free to ask about anything else related that you are wondering about. **DISCLAIMER** I am not suicidal. It's selfish, and makes your life amount to nothing. Go lose your life in a meaningful way if you're dead-set to do it. (like suicide by saving a bunch of troops in combat, or by assaulting a rapist in-the-act)
  22. Hammerwatch... Just because...
  23. I'd guess that he'd get promoted to be one of the mob at some point, or maybe even one of the laughing couple...
  24. Yeah, I went to go vote for it, but with it not being accessible, I can't vote.
