  3. Of course I do, but that was an obvious compliment when you don't take it out of context. Besides, I'm a perfectionist gamer... I'll consider anything not a GTX 560-590 shitty. Actually I consider a GTX 590 a shitty buy when compared to getting 2 GTX 570's.
  4. Why shouldn't we? Does it really hurt you so much that we can't? Keep that in mind... Actually I can't think of a better place to decide... It's where 90% of a teenager's choices are made anyways. The model is, nothing evolves naturally. Evidence is personal observation, and 4 millennia of written records. Testable in what way? What are you meaning by "cannot be falsified"? Those "peer reviewed journals" don't publish anything that would disprove Evolution, and people in school either believe in Evolution already, or are writing exactly what the teacher wants to see. (we creationists learn early on that we fail any 'science' class if we don't pretend to take Evolution for granted) Not really, but it would in the Evolutionist's beliefs. Your explanation was inaccurate. Theories explain the relations between observed phenomena, frequently they are inaccurate. Theories don't make predictions, you make a prediction based on a theory, then test to see if the theory works. Evolution that has been theorized cannot be tested in the few millennia that we have records for, it's 'predictions' have not come true, results that haven't occurred yet cannot be duplicated, and therefore the theory has no scientific proof. What about it?
  5. Damn.
  6. Switch it to always have the orange, visited or not.
  7. DX:HR leaked Beta has some awesome background music IMO.
  8. Oh come on... Nobody nominated me?!? Ok, I'll nominating Doom Shepherd...
  9. Are all you Evolutionists so scared of losing followers that you can't let people decide what to believe when they're presented with 2 separate belief systems in an unbiased manner? If not, then why are you so anal about forcing your BELIEF on others? Evolution is not fact. Theories are not yet facts. Yes gravity is not a fact. it is an observed phenomena, and will remain a theory until what causes it is found, an the theory is proven factual.
  10. Why would I take a picture of it when all that was left was the equivalent of sand? Not all meteorite strikes leave large chunks behind. If it had, I would definitely still have the rock. The piece that hit was about the size of a marble, plenty large enough to kill since it was going around Mach 6...
  11. Disasters only happen when there are idiots in the area. You'll see lots of extremely smart people in disaster areas that are never affected... South Dakota: Tornadoes occasionally take out power lines, fences, barns, crops, livestock, and houses. Even the big ones they get rarely even cause injury. (an F5 passed within 2 miles of my house, had a ground time of 30+ min, and a swath of over 60 miles. 16 farms flattened, 1 golf course covered with junk, no injuries) They're smart, and go down into their storm cellars. Floods will cover roads, people drive their cars around the flooded areas, and drive their boats in the flooded areas. Occasionally you'll see really prepared farmers driving their pickups through the flooded areas towing someone's out-of-gas boat while the boaters fish from the bed of the truck. Snow can get to 12 feet deep drifts, with 4 foot snowfall. Most non-cityfolk will just drive the speedlimit instead of 15 over. Everyone else calls in a snow day, then wait for the plows to clear the road, then go out an have fun on their day off. You'll see the farmers towing offroading 4WD's out of ditches with their 2WD 1970's pickups. Japan: They build their buildings specifically to withstand their frequent earthquakes. I should really make a longer list, but I'm not in the mood.
  12. Marijuana is the least harmful drug in existence. Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and asprin are more dangerous, even when taken at far reduced doses from what is recommended. The only legitimate reasons I can find for it's illegality are it's odor, the parent's dislike of the effects it has on their child's grades, and the fact that drug dealers sell it. Look at any anti-depression drug out there, look at any of it's side effects... Now look at marijuana... It's side effects are: "In extremely rare circumstances, some people may be at a slightly increased risk of schizophrenia. Possibly habit forming, though only because feeling good is always addictive. No additional effects for children under the age of 12." Which drug would you rather take? Also, it's a widely held misconception that you have to smoke marijuana to get the effect. It's just as effective when used in food or drink. No smell involved.
  13. Sounds like you're asking about 2 separate issues entirely. 1. The methods of legal distribution of digital files. 2. The definition, and compensation of artists. Neither are really related, except in passing, so what are you really asking about?
  14. The USA at least makes welfare impossible to live off of, forcing people to find extra sources of income. I could probly get $200 worth of food stamps per month though...
  15. Not trying to burst your bubble or anything, but in a 1-1 dogfight, or maximum range combat (80+ miles, 125+ km) the F-14D beats any other aircraft in the world. It has a 0 combat loss record. (no F-14 has ever been shot down) The F-14's main airframe is made from welded titanium, the only material tough enough to withstand the stress of a variable aspect wing capable of Mach 2.5 speeds. Also, the F-14 is the only aircraft that can carry the AIM-54 Phoenix missile. The longest range air-to-air missile ever made. (well over 100 mile range, recorded training kills from over 120 miles) Costs $477,131, and has a top speed of nearly Mach 5. One thing you'll never see on a Wiki page, it can change targets mid-flight, or even if it misses it's original target. (if it can't turn back and kill the missed target that is) If I was to make my own personal air fleet, I'd definitely be using many of these. Supporting aircraft would be A-10's and Harriers. Aw... Just noticed that they retired the F-14's... I guess the Russians win this round.
  16. What do you think of those?
  17. I'd like to know that as well First off, people getting hit by meteorites is extremely rare with only one or two cases ever really confirmed. Secondly, having a premonition come true is even rarer still as there is no scientific evidence to suggest such a thing is even possible. Overwhelming feeling that I should move to the right, instant quick memory of me watching myself talking to someone about stepping to the right and avoiding being hit by a meteorite, moved, and a meteorite impacted where I had been standing. Similar for the bullet dodging, except for what the memory was.
  18. Hardest would have to be the final levels of a game my brother made for the old Apple computers back in the late 80's... (back before his accident his IQ was somewhere above 190, and he had it mostly dedicated to computer programming and graphics) Couldn't say why that was so much harder than Doom 3 on Nightmare with an 'enhanced difficulty' mod, but it was for some reason. Was far more fun too...
  19. Was playing the DX:HR leaked beta, and was making a trainer option for it... Just got the option done, was in the save dialog, and Cheat Engine crashed. Then I went back to the game, tried to redo the option, and a brownout crashed my external drive. (I have the game on my external drive) Another was I had just torrented The Adjustment Bureau, and tried to play it... Caused a BSoD. Then when I finished rebooting, I had to reinstall both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack just to play videos/audio from my computer.
  20. I couldn't care less... Either way I make sure to get a no-DRM crack for the game. (unless it's Steam, then there is no need, just run in offline mode)
  21. Ah, but A can also be ա, një, bat, একটি, един, un, 一, en, een, isang, ein, ένα, એક, yon, एक, sebuah, ಒಂದು, на, o, ஒரு, ఒక, bir, ایک, אַ, or even 1. (1 on a base 26 numeric translation of the English language) That's one interpretation of "A". This is part of why Objectivism doesn't work in real life... It doesn't cover any of the different viewpoints, which are definitely there, and rarely the same between individuals. It also can't work when things are unknown.
  22. Agreed, but nobody seems to want to start by doing it that way... Games on my list: Any Legend of Zelda game after Link to the Past. All CoD except 1 and 4. Battlefield 2. (not any others, I loved all the rest) All the Pokemon games except the few early ones for the GBC. (and their remakes for the GBA) All Halo sequels. (the original game was awesome, the rest were meh) All WoW ripoffs. Runescape or anything similar. Call of Juarez. (can't think of much that sucks worse) Puzzle games of virtually any kind.
  23. DX:IW Everyone said it sucked, but when I found a used copy for $5... I liked it. Never played the original game, but IW got me into the series, and made me torrent the leaked Beta of DX:HR, so it can't be bad. PS: Torrent the leaked Beta of DX:HR if you can, it's well worth it. (I suspect it was an intentional leak to build up hype, which I'm exceedingly willing to do since playing the leaked version)
  24. Xenocell. Persistent clan bases that can be attacked/defended/upgraded, lots of stuff to do, crafting, vehicles, weapons, etc. Free to play, game engine made by the same guys that made the Tribes 2 engine. Only one I'm looking forward to in the foreseeable future.
  25. Actually DX:HR is a prequel, not a sequel...
