  1. Hmmm... looks like we'd be going to the same house then... Who would have thought it... There's one of the reasons in your words above - yes. Though, not the one you seem to imply... Boyfriend was always getting upset over EVERYTHING - sounds like a perfectly good reason to have shown him the door! That you felt you had to lie to him was not your fault but his... Mmmhhmm... If they're not ready for that - they shouldn't even bother submitting their application form... Regards
  2. Oh, geez, you captured it all so well! Fucking hypocrites. Like - literally Then - they are caught with a male escort and their pants down behind the altar... Regards
  3. Perhaps it's because we are looking at Jeb Through the Looking Glass? Or, she looks at us... @Jeb - you should be careful, my dear... you will attract stalkers from all over the internet to this place if you will keep luring them with your beauty like that... But you do look stunningly gorgeous, there's no denying it. Captivating, graceful, elegant... <- all that and more. Thank you for the treat. @Reverend - nice shapka! Brings some memories, hehe... Oh, and I love the filename! Regards
  4. As are you! @Binky - oh, my... I was right then! We have a militant anarchist in our midst But, mmm... so pretty... Regards
  5. Ah, you caught me there, hehe... Oh, that is a "tank" radio. But it was used in pretty much every military vehicle that was supposed to have a radio in it. Including my beloved Gecko And - one must wonder how did they manage to train so many conscripts to operate that thing? Well, actually, making it work wasn't really that difficult but you did need to know the sequence of actions and understanding what each button and knob did helped a lot too Regards
  6. But now your mail box will probably be full of propositions from hopeful female members, trying their luck Regards
  7. Maybe you need to check anti-aliasing on your screen? @Jeb - don't know about banks but I would half-expect a molotov cocktail in your hand, love! Instead of the phone. But you look pretty dazzling! And remind me of this a bit Regards
  8. Hehe... try this one... Regards
  9. I dunno... I watched the uncut version of Caligula a few times and it came across as too grotesque to be hardcore for me... The only thing that came across as genuine and disturbing in the movie for me was the insestuous love between him and his sister and her subsequent death from plague which she caught from nusrsing him back to life... Regards
  10. So... the US army equipment is no bloody different than the USSR army equipment was... Regards
  11. Oh, I read it! Yes, absolutely - it reads like a fictional adventure but it was all 100% real! Oh, and I've been to the Fram museum in Oslo and they have bits and pieces of his various expeditions there - was so fascinating to actually see those very things I read about in the book... Bova is one of my favourite too. Also Clarke, Baxter and Bear and Vinge. And Verne and Wells As far as sci-fi is concerned... and I also often read some lighter things - "military" sci-fi? Most is pretty crass but there are some very nice authors there... James Corey (actually a pseudonym for two people writing together), David Drake, Taylor Anderson, Evan Currie, Joshua Dalzelle... And non-sci-fi? Geez, there are so many... Patrick O'Brian - just the first that springs to mind Regards P.S. Oh, just to explain - music is not entertainment for me, it's art and it works on an entire different level with me. Just like it is totally different - to go watch a movie or to go to an art gallery. The former is netertainment, the latter is food for the soul
  12. Geez, you're so beautiful... Well, I always knew that. But, simply - every time I see you, it just strikes me again. Oh - an Italian place it shall be then! And - I'd absolutely love to go to a zoo with you, my dear. I do like zoos. It's a wonderful way to spend a day out. Especially, in your company. Oh, we can visit the London zoo too Regards
  13. Books are like movies that play right in my head - only much better than any movie. I suppose one needs enough imagination and real life references to fully enjoy reading, but when you get there - it's the best entertainment there is. I don't count music as entertainment btw, so there is no competition there And then, of course, factual and documentary and history works... about things that might be of interest to me. Mmmm... books Regards
  14. Oh, darling, yes! Thank you for inviting me down there! I think - once the technicians finish adding a set of wheels to the roof of the plane - I'll have another go at it. But it sounds so nice - I'll take you up on that offer, love. Hmmm... by comparison London's wild life is much more boring... And I don't think bobbies roaming the streets would take too kindly if we tried to feed them But when you get here - I'll take you somewere nice and we'll have a dinner together... Regards
  15. Geez... *slaps his head* That explains why I didn't get there! Next time I must have a word with the captain - why is he flying higher when I want to go Down Under? Of course, we would never get there like that... Oh, dear... that second picture - I thought you were holding a rifle at first But - really nice pics of Binky! Cheers! Regards
  16. I think this is the least probable scenario. Who are we? - just an improvement on all the gradually developing intelligencies in the tree of life... from worms to fish to snakes to cats to us. What grounds are there to even think that our intelligence may be anything but an upgraded version of that of a tiger or a chimpanzee? Also, nature does not like jumps and unique things - it takes Mark I analogue brain and just adds to it incrementally... Regards
  17. Hehe, Jeb... There is nothing in the New or Old Testament that says alcohol is a bad thing But, hmmm... I'm fairly certain - that's as high as I've ever been... And that's the view from upstairs... Regards
  18. Yeah, but only if you know how to pronounce "Worcestershire"... Though, for any sauce that is made of freshly squeezed salted fish juice... that bovine stuff is an excellent choice, I'd say Regards
  19. What can I say... I love you too, Jassy. And that's that... Regards
  20. There is a line that has to be drawn. And it's perfectly morally defensible too. If the guy is a danger or he disrupts the classes for others - there is no place for him there. It's for his own good as much as for others' And it seems this person is just too mentally "diverse" to fit. The teachers need to act here... Regards
  21. Oh, wait... those are mine too! Regards
  22. There is no conspiracy. They don't need to get together to create these companies. Quite the opposite, they dont't want the others to know of them... But a lot of these companies are used for legitimate purposes or where there is no other practical way to run an international or a domsetic business because the local legislation - either fiscal or civil - is so screwed up. But, yes - all the people in power are corrupt. No surprises there... Corruption is what drives countries, be it the US, UK, France, Nigeria, Russia - the principle is the same everywhere. Regards
  23. Geez, AP - I don't know what is the reason for that... Though in my mind there is only ONE reason that can make a man THAT happy - but, cheers, man! Regards
  24. We have the same thing here in the UK... The way I see it - there is a growing and belated realisation in the Western world that we are losing competitiveness in IT, as well as increasing vulnerability of our computer systems to places like India, Russia, China, Africa FFS... This is because a) programming is a subject that is increasingly easier to self-teach and so is accessible to people with very low incomes and very little capital, b) the Western users are getting increasingly dumb and spoiled in their using of the technology. Thanks to Apple and the like, the workings of the machines are hidden more and more and the users are discouraged from controlling and understanding the functioning of the things they use. Also, the software developers are now all going for the low hanging fruit of selling unready, unfinished software by calling it "SaaS Model" and, basically, ship out undertested code with the view of "updating" it later and, perhaps, charge the customer all over again for that. And the "walled gardens" further discourage the manufacturers from improving their code by stopping the users from trying competing software products. The problem is clearly there, but the governments are trying to solve it in the usual incompetent governmental manner. By throwing things against the wall and hoping that something will stick... I doublt this will work. I don't think just putting every kid through the motions of slapping some high level canned script together will encourage many of them to look deeper into this thing. Usually, if you want to get more kids and young people interested in something - you need to show them a desirable future that they can achieve doing what you want them to do. I don't see much of that going on. Regards
  25. "UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA" Which one was that - Tesco? Oh, geez... the designers of that system should be lined up against a wall and shot. Such a big screw-up... Only a few things they've done wrong but, oh dear, that is enough! This is what you get when you allow a programmer to design a system for normal people without proper supervision... Regards
