None of the quest elites you get at that level are 120, they all scale with level.

French RIots and the Control of Information
rairii replied to Im_CIA's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
It's mostly due to the fact that domestic news holds much higher priority over foreign news. When Trump acts like a jackass that affects me a great deal more than when Macron acts like a jackass, since I'm an American, not a Parisian. That said, Macron is a jackass. Better than Le Pen but still a jackass. -

PC Game Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4
rairii replied to Alyxx Thorne's topic in Gaming in general
If it IS MW2 with a black ops aesthetic and battle royale then what's the issue? MW2 and BO2 are good ass games, both arguably best-in-series, and battle royale is super fun too. People accused MW3 of being an MW2 clone and while they're not wrong on that one, that didn't make MW3 a bad game,. In fact I think that's MW3's saving grace quite honestly. This looks like one of the better entries just based off of what I've seen. -
Optimism on how successful a 1984-style future could be
rairii replied to Veyrdite's topic in Civilization Problems
Nope, China's still got the highest and India isn't expected to overtake them for another few years. You're really overestimating the power the policy has had or could have had on a population currently approaching 1.4 billion. The point remains: the policy doesn't exist anymore and it would take nothing short of a mass extinction event to dramatically impact China's population. I didn't present an argument, I presented a correction. Much of what you've claimed is subjective but highly improbable at best, objectively incorrect at worst. It doesn't matter where you get your information, or what you claim to "know", a lot of what you say and a lot of what you have said in the past is incorrect so you can try to explain that yourself, but I'm drawing pretty safe conclusions here I think. -
Optimism on how successful a 1984-style future could be

Are you dense? Or just completely out of touch with reality? 1. The odds of anything of the sort happening are practically nil, because it's authoritarian enough to make revolution or civil war infeasible at best, but not authoritarian to the point of tensions building between citizen and state. 2. China has the highest population in the world, it would take a literal mass extinction event for the Chinese people to "die out" within the century. 3. The one-child policy hasn't been a thing for nearly three years. There's a new population planning policy in place and the birth rate in China shows no sign of slowing. We're arguably living under a 1984-style system right now, we just don't like to admit it. It's not a matter of technology, it's a matter of how the narrative is driven. For example, the majority of people living in the U.S. are wholly convinced that not only does social privilege as a concept not exist, but it was made up to marginalize """"normal"""" people. This is right-wing narrative and it honestly pushes itself with how many people on the right believe it and how many people in the center/center-left are open to believing it, the narrative in itself is divisive as all it serves to do is make underprivileged people fight amongst themselves over a petty technicality. -
4/10 It's okay, but overstays its welcome.

Any estimate on when we'll be able to change avatars again, and if we'll ever have the option to change our display names? Also the reaction system doesn't seem to be fully functioning at the moment

There's a beautiful sort of irony to this.

I think you've been misunderstanding those "very smart people", it's EXTREMELY difficult to get ANY manner of settlement on Mars set up because of the time and cost that goes in to putting shit on Mars alone. Beyond that, it would probably be only comparatively large-scale, I.E. we've never had a permanent research base on another celestial body, the longest we've stayed on one is a little under a full day. The land on Mars isn't arable, the air on Mars isn't breathable, the gravity on Mars isn't nominal, and it would likely take a good few hundred years at best before we can even think of trying to set up an ecologically sustainable permanent settlement on Mars. Give me a citation that shows that these "very smart people" think we can actually settle mars, and their reasoning why, and then we can talk. So again: how about we just try to take steps toward not killing our planet, just in case?

Everything I Post/Say Turns Into an Essay. What Should I do?

It's just an advertisement, there's no virus on that link. No doubt the one posting the link IS a bot but the link itself is secure. -
Star Wars is a product of its time, it's not bad but people treat it as some sort of sacred and holy cinema masterpiece, when really it's honestly just, well, passable. It's not like the established lore was ever really fantastic to begin with, it certainly is original, but it's not very interesting. As far as I'm concerned, if I could choose between the prequels, original trilogy, and Disney's star wars, I'd pick Disney first because at the very least those are fun to watch. If I want to see a movie for the depth of its plot and universe, Star Wars isn't going to be my first pick. I don't necessarily disagree that the franchise should end, but as long as people are still entertained by Star Wars movies and games, I see no reason to stop making them.

Super Metroid is absolutely deserving of the #1 spot here, considering it's basically the grandfather of the Metroidvania genre and one of the greatest games ever created for it.

You do realize that Canada has had 7 mass shootings in the past decade, right? The U.S. has had 1500+ in half that time.

keep in mind, every game in new vegas that you can gamble on is tied to your luck skill. if you have 7+ luck, you can clean out most casinos. you can just go to the atomic wrangler and clean them out for the 2k credit check.

Is this supposed to be some sort of joke

If you don't like the movie, that's fine. If you think the original was better, that's fine. But I think you're looking for criticisms that aren't there.

i used to frequent /lgbt/, /x/, and /mu/, don't anymore because i actually kind of hate that website.

Actually that's not confirmed. It's confirmed by lore. Vault 76 is mentioned in Fallout 3 as a control vault set to open 20 years after the great war. The date on the pip-boy in the trailer shows 2102 so there's a minor retcon in having it open 25 years later, but it still takes place ~60 years before the events of Fallout 1.

-ye84Zrqndo So it's confirmed. No remake, no remaster, no switch port. They're releasing an actual new Fallout title, and a prequel at that.
