  1. Agree on the former, disagree on the latter. Viruses don't, in fact, evolve to become more deadly; but they do evolve to become more contagious, and simple math shows that a virus twice as contagious will lead to massively more deaths than a virus twice as deadly. Not in relative percentages, but in absolute numbers. And this is exactly where SARS-CoV-2 is moving, Omicron and all.
  2. Sorry, couldn't resist

  5. Just a random picture that I stumbled upon. Stay strong, Ross.
  6. Happy 39th birthday, Ross. It's a bummer you didn't do a birthday stream today, I still remember how good the Supreme Commander stream was.
  7. Post-New-Year hangover chat, nice.
  8. LOL, I've only just noticed the mistletoe on the thumbnail. Yeah, merry Christmas.
  9. One good thing about this game is that 99% of its value is the environment, and I don't think it's locked at the server side. So that one day someone would make the game work with only the local files, and this crippled version without enemies/progression/plot/etc will still be 99% as enjoyable as the original game.
  10. Well hello there, Mario Nelson. It's been a long time, glad you're holding up well.
  11. Rub it in, would you. A LOT of people (including me) were begging Ross to do an episode on VtMB, and at one point he said he probably will. Then came VtMB2 hype, and this idea was dropped - probably because the episode would drown in other WoD-related videos. Then a few more years passed, VtMB2 turned out to be vaporware, everyone has already forgotten it, and we are still left without a RGD on the first part.

  13. Okay, Ross has set things straight in the last chat and seems like I was wrong, which is great. As Ross himself has said, there is nothing pleasant in saying that something goes wrong and to be right about that. On the contrary, I will probably enjoy the series more from now on.
  14. God, that is almost childishly egocentric. Again, I hate to sound like I am entitled to tell Ross what to do, but other people obviously don’t seem to have this problem, so here is MY opinion. The reason why I enjoy Ross’s work is the chemistry it emanates. I think the English word for it is “vibe”. I might not care whatsoever about the discussed game (or the discussed topic in general), but if Ross cares – really cares – then the video starts radiating some sort of energy, which draws me in and charges me in a certain way. In fact, Ross himself has voiced my own thoughts exactly. To give an example, I rewatched a lot of his gaming streams (that he self-consciously uploads to a separate channel called “junk”), his Lecarde Chronicles playthrough probably being my favorite. His genuine interest is so apparent, his emotions so sincere, that watching those videos starts feeling like a journey with an old friend. In contrast, watching recent FM episodes gives me the same feeling as the late “Gothos” episode. Cringe. My subconscious mind keeps showing me an image of jaded Ross sitting in front of a monitor, trying to come up with something – anything – that’s not been said before. (And trying not to puke from the very sight of the sickening Source engine). This is what I am , Mr. armchair psychologist. How’s that for “nonsense ‘I’m just concerned for his enjoyment!’ argument”?
  15. It’s the opinion of the “majority” that is irrelevant. Ross’s modus operandi is to have a fanbase consisting of two distinct parts: a very small but utterly devoted group (300-400 people) who keeps supporting him for years on end, and a faceless crowd of indifferent Youtube watchers (a lot of whom probably don’t even know his name). I hate it when money comes into the discussion of art, but since you keep bringing this up – I did a quick web search, and looks like my donations are roughly equal to about 100,000 Youtube views. (And I’m even not an avid donator at all). This should give you a rough idea of just how differently different opinions weigh (in your own money-based worldview). As daisekihan has already told you several times, it’s actually well possible to get an insight about what fans are donating for – just go to the donations page and look for correlations between certain events and donation surges. I think It’s pretty obvious that and
  16. Wrong and wrong. First, Ross has explicitly said multiple times that he'd rather not continue FM, and the only reason he continues to drudge through is that he feels obliged to. That's a recipe for creating an inspired show, right? Second, Ross has explicitly said multiple times that YouTube income is so low, it's the fan donations which keep him afloat. Wait, are you saying that you've already been banned here before? Anyway, don't you dare shutting other people's mouths. Thank you.
  17. I must say that I'm with daisekihan here. Although I do still find this series mildly entertaining, so if Ross feels obliged to continue - sure.
  18. Oh yes, this is definitely a treat. I didn't laugh so hard since Sonic episode, I think. When in the after-credits stinger you started kicking the headcrab again, and again, and again, and just kept going, I swear it took me a lot of effort to not soil myself from laughter.
  19. There was no text-to-speech software that could do proper inflections on this level back then, not even close.
  20. My understanding is that the hero tried to drink that girl like a yet another blood vessel, hence the zoom in (which is how the game portrayed bloodsucking before), but failed to notice the plexiglass wall separating them and just hit his face against it instead. This happened to me a couple of times too (I mean hitting my face against a glass wall, not drinking blood).
  21. I laughed so hard that now my liver hurts. P.S. the stock scream at 35:19 reminded me of Ross's Deathtrap Dungeon stream.
  22. Oh God the cringe is real. Please tell me the third Halloween episode won't be another FMV game, Ross.
  23. At first I was baffled by the complete absence of logic in the actions that you are supposed to make, but then it hit me. It probably was the same motivation as nowadays: in order for the game to be profitable, 99% of players should see 99% of content. If you make the sensible decision to be the right one, people will just beeline to the “right” ending and all work on the alternate dead-end paths will go to trash. So instead let’s ensure that the player trying to apply common sense will stumble into every dead end instead, every f*cking one, before he finally brute-forces his way to the true ending. Brilliant.
  24. Seems like Ross doesn't like to read in-game text aloud, so streaming Disco Elysium would be 99% dead air.
  25. @Ross Scott It's old news, but I thought you might like this one: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7950263/Woman-dressed-Minnie-Mouse-caught-cellphone-footage-viciously-beating-security-guard.html
