Banned because you have an MLP avatar, just like everyone else with MLP avatars. Because, evidently, it's hip to either love MLP or hate it. And I like to be hip.

How long will it take to finish Freeman's mind?
danielsangeo replied to Great_Destroyer's topic in Freeman's Mind
Though, by then, Half Life 2:Episode 3 and Half Life 3 will be out. -
I can't help but think it might be better if there were a transparent background....but then I think that might not look as good and I get confused. So, until I figure it out, 8/10.

Just a quick reference might be good. An off-hand comment, "Where's my towel?"

"You know what I'm Saiyan? ...get it? Because I'm on that show with the....yeah...."

Remakes of remakes. Justin Bieber as Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man Reloaded. He'll spend the entire movie naked.

Your actions are not being controlled by a person sitting behind a computer, Freeman. You're just being paranoid.

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
danielsangeo replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
I have a huge problem with that section. On my computer, when the funicular gets about 3/4 of the way down, suddenly, I would die with a "squish" sound, like I had fallen from a great height or I went into the "meat grinder" at the bottom. Whenever I go through that section (I speak that rant in my head now), I resort to getting near the middle "track" and crouching. That seems to help. I don't know why I die, while riding the platform, about 3/4 of the way down. -
Thanks! I just re-upped the subtitle file. Hope it works out.

Some insane lunatic on this forum has typed up the vast majority of Freeman's Mind for subtitles (in fact, every released episode should have an associated subtitle file) and since the subtitle files are simple text files, it shouldn't be too hard to reference the files to make sure jokes aren't repeated and such.

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment

Rewatching, I continue to find the skit where Freeman's on the funicular in episode 6 where the headcrabs are sliding down the slope hilarious: "Hey, what was that? Face huggers! Yeee! Batter up! Strike one! Strike two! Strike--AHH! It's raining men! I..I mean, aliens! Why is this taking so long?! I could fall faster than this! No! Shut up! No one cares about your opinion! You have no rights! You're all illegal immigrants! Now, do what you're told and jump in this giant meat grinder! NO! You're doing it wrong! You're all incompetent!" -
Ross doesn't record these things on the fly as he's playing. He takes each episode in bits and pieces and has several takes of the lines so he can pick the best ones to match the video. Each line could have several different inflections or cadences and the best one is picked from that pool and then pasted together into a cohesive script. I think that these gaps are things he either hasn't recorded yet or hasn't picked the best take yet. At least, that's how I take it.

The references to him being on drugs are evident even in the very first episode. When, on the tram, the PA voice talks about the biohazard screenings and missing a scheduled urinalysis being grounds for termination, Gordon groans and says, "Don't remind me." He's clearly apprehensive about the screenings. So, while I don't believe he's an addict, I think he partakes in a little something something whenever he can get away with it.

In the game, if you play it as you're supposed to, you jump into the water with the ichty, open the grate at the bottom, swim through the opening, traverse the canal to the next section where you cross the desert to a military base of operations, go through that before coming out at the cliffside and having to climb that to the rocket launcher where you can finally take out the chopper. But Ross' Freeman doesn't always do things the way you're supposed to...

He's already dealt with one ichtyosaur back in Episode 32: Gv1EPEK2k-0

I particularly loved the interactions with the scientists in this episode. EDIT: I also found hilarious! I have also uploaded subtitles for this episode over in the subtitles section (quicklink here).

Oh, yeah! I'm going to start the Subtitle Channel. All subtitles, all the time.

My apologies but at the moment, I do not have access to the subtitle files (they're on the desktop computer which is currently in storage until I can get settled in an apartment). This sounds like a website issue, though. As you can see, it's been downloaded many times and I didn't change anything. As soon as I get situated with Internet, I'll upload another copy if it's not sorted out by then. Thanks!

Thanks, but I checked it several times but it doesn't sound like "being lost" at all. I admit, during that portion, the voice is strained but I'm almost 100% sure he's saying "big wads" which is slang. "Being lost", while accurate in context, doesn't seem to make sense (to me) in that portion. I think "big wads" is what is being said here but if Ross says he was saying something else, I will change it. Thanks again! P.S.: I am in transit moving to another state so whether I can get online or not over this month is iffy at best. I should be able to get more stability by the beginning of May.

What is the map used in Civil Protection: The Tunnel?
danielsangeo replied to nfire3's topic in Civil Protection
It's probably a map made by Ross. It's the same map as "Shadow of a Doubt" (at least the "outside the Miskatonic Tunnel" sequence). -
Precisely the point. It's perfect!

I suggest "Military Precision" from the Half-Life video game. n3_c9djkr08

I chose "Subtitles". Why? Well, isn't it obvious?

"Wh-what's going on? Am I dead? I don't feel dead, but how would I know? If this is what it's like to be dead, then being dead sucks!" is always a classic.
