Vortigaunt: The guardian is enraged over our theft of the extract. If it tries to hinder our progress, we will have no choice but to kill it. Gordon: You mean "me", right? Alyx: You messed with its eggs? Gordon: No-- Alyx: No wonder it's mad. Gordon: No, this bastard here did. I didn't do shit! I run my ass all over the caves, getting slammed into the walls by that thing to save YOUR life, and you have the nerve to say that *I* messed with its eggs! This bastard just sat on his ass while I did all the work! Wait, do vortigaunts even have asses?

Looking at all four, the one that stutters the least for me is the MP4. The one that stutters the most for me is the MKV. AVI is a bit worse than MP4 and WMV is a bit better than MKV. So, in order from best to worst: MP4, AVI, WMV, MKV. On my computer. I am using the VLC media player and I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium-64bit, 6GB RAM, Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz.

Magnusson's casserole: Freeman's Mind and HL2: Episode 2
danielsangeo replied to mehdawg654's topic in Freeman's Mind
I doubt that we'll get to Half-Life 2, to be honest. And I'm not sure it should continue into HL2. Ross might burn out before the end of HL2 and we don't want that. -

Episode 28 So, I got a response back from Ross regarding Episode 28. In Episode 28, Gordon speaks Hindi after suggesting that he's going to move to India after he gets out of the facility, and I originally just put "[speaks Hindi]" in because, well, I don't speak Hindi and I didn't know what was being said. So, Ross got back to me (THANKS!!!!!) and pointed me in the right direction and I was able to (I believe) get a Romanized version of what was being said. If you want to know what is being said, please see behind the spoiler tag: I am sending the revised version of Episode 28 out now.

How long have you been a fan of Freeman's Mind?
danielsangeo replied to Dr. Derpy Hooves Ph.D's topic in Freeman's Mind
I think I watched it first when episode 6 was done. When Episode 10.5 happened, I initially thought, "NOOOOO!!!" then realized what it was. -
"We owe a great deal to Dr. Freeman, although trouble does tend to follow in his wake." --Dr. Kleiner

I can't figure out how to extract the textures using Crafty. I have looked online for guides but cannot figure it out. Any clue how to do it?

Have you ever watched so much of Freeman's Mind that you...
danielsangeo replied to mehdawg654's topic in Freeman's Mind
There are certain situations in which I play certain lines over in my head as a response. Does that count? I was waiting for an elevator a while back that was taking a long time to come to the floor I was on. And I thought in my head, "If I had a grappling hook, I could go 'whoosh' up there, then 'whoosh' up there. You don't need a physics degree to grasp the concept. But the fact that HAVE one is just insult to injury!" Also, when playing Half-Life yesterday and I got to the point where you're in the elevator behind the boxes of explosives, I did think "I have to blow everything up! It's the only way to prove I'm not crazy!" But I don't think that counts. -
Progress being made on FREEMAN'S MIND: EPISODE 39
danielsangeo replied to scott155's topic in Freeman's Mind
Me, I just finished something insane and hoped that I was able to get it done before Episode 39 came out. I have created FOURTEEN subtitle files for all the missing Freeman's Mind episodes. You can find it over at the subtitles section in the English section. A present for Mr. Scott. I hope everything turns out right here and I'm waiting for 39 with bated breath. -
This is it, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages. The super ultra mega colossal stupendous über-Brobdingnagian post! In just one file, you will find all the currently-missing subtitle files for Freeman's Mind. Yes, that's right! This is insane. This is Looney Tunes crap. This came from up the chain of command. A cigar-smoking general ordered this. "Yar! Type of the rest of the subtitles for Freeman's Mind. When you're done, just upload it. It's brilliant!" And, I'm not named Jack either. So, here it is. The missing subtitles. Episodes 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, and even Episode 0, the Hazard Course one. Enjoy! And please let me know if you see any issues with these or if I'm missing something. I tried to watch them with the subtitles on but it's possible I missed something. I'mma go plotz now. kthxbye

Progress being made on FREEMAN'S MIND: EPISODE 39
danielsangeo replied to scott155's topic in Freeman's Mind
That's the great thing about editing. You don't have to record it in order. Also, even if you're a great speaker, you'll still eventually mess up a line or two. That's what multiple takes are for. Also, you can have different inflections or whatever so "Jesus Christ...." and "JESUS CHRIST!" have two different meanings. Eventually, you'll have multiple takes of the same line and you pick the best one and edit them together to sound contiguous and you have a Freeman's Mind. Ross doesn't just sit with a mic and do everything in one take. -
What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
danielsangeo replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
When recently subtitling Episode 27, I think a line from that has skyrocketed to the top 3. "Devil burn me! These stores be filled with empty boxes!" I don't know why but the way Ross says this line makes me burst out laughing every time. -
Which would shine a new light on what Barney says in Half-Life 2. "Oh man! That is what I was afraid of! Get in here Gordon! Before you blow my cover!" and later, "Good job Gordon, throwing that switch and all, I can see your MIT education really pays for itself."

I've subtitled Episode 27. Mostly. I think I need some help with this one. There are a couple lines that, well, I just have no clue what is being said. The great pirate Freeman be sayin' fancy words I naught be understandin'. Arr... 18 - I deadlights captured the afore yaherra parrel-boarders. 20 - Well, blow me down foc'sle carve. 77 - I gives you me half a davy; I give you a cut of any loot we take. I have tried to research pirating and nautical terms for these things but, well, I'm at a loss. Thanks!

Freeman is too good for the likes of Eli, Kleiner and Barney. But, according to Valve, the Barney from HL2 is the one that's pounding on the security door in Inbound. Freeman says, "Looks like I'm not the only one that's late. SUCKER!" which isn't indicative of Freeman not knowing Barney but of Freeman's narcissism and egotism. Same could be said of Eli and Kleiner. They could still be his friends but he treats them like shit, so....

Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
danielsangeo replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
I haven't said that the Big Bang Theory is absolute. -
Then what did you mean by "And that there is peer-reviewed evidence that it's possible humans are not causing it"?

Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
danielsangeo replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
We see the facts and can, using the data we have, "see" the Big Bang. Just like we can "see" ultraviolet light. And the Big Bang isn't "an idea". It's a theory. It's in that yellow rectangle on that flow chart surrounded by stars. -
Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
danielsangeo replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Actually, we can see it if we have the right tools. Just like we can "see" air, ultraviolet light, germs... And germs are a theory as well. -
Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
danielsangeo replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
No, it really isn't. A theory is a set of observable facts. It must have evidence before it can be called a theory. When referring to the Big Bang Theory, it is a scientific theory, not a guess, not an opinion. It has facts backing it up. Clear, observable facts. How is this "prejudiced"? The sun appearing to rise in the eastern sky and setting in the western sky is not an opinion. The rotation of the earth around its axis and around the sun is not an opinion. Plants taking in CO2 and giving off oxygen is not an opinion, all housecats belonging to the same species is not an opinion, my words appearing on your computer screen is not an opinion. These are all facts. And, the fact is, the Big Bang Theory is the best theory we have for the observable facts. And it should be taught as such in school. -
Belated introductions, y'all. Very belated, but why not? My name is "danielsangeo". At least, my online name is. Its roots are from my original BBS username "DanielSan" which became my Geocities username and, therefore, my Geocities e-mail address. Once Yahoo took over Geocities, then dropped Geocities, I got a Yahoo e-mail address as "danielsangeo" (to reflect that I was a member of Geocities). I am 33 years old and currently living in Seattle, Washington, USA. I have brown hair, brown eyes and...oh, wait. This isn't that kind of introduction. I am known for my verbose posting on the subject of politics and religion....and, of course, my favorite video games are the Half-Life/Portal series of video games and I eagerly await the release of the Black Mesa mod (and I'm a fairly prolific poster on their forums as well). I have taken to subtitling a bunch of Freeman's Mind episodes which you can find over in the Subtitles section. It is my hope that I can subtitle the missing ones and eventually get a word from Ross on it. "That would make my day. If I do, I'm not going to be gracious about it, either. I'm going to rub people's FACES in it." Oh, wait. Sorry. So, yeah, besides that, I'm attempting to learn computer animation which the hope that, one day, I'll be able to get my work into a Hollywood movie.

Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
danielsangeo replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
I thought it was about teaching creationism versus evolution in schools. And that we were talking, in a sideways way, on the subject of creationism. Or, at least, I was. In conclusion: I want children taught the Big Bang Theory and evolution, not creationism. Why? The former has actual testable evidence. The latter...................doesn't.
