  1. I have a couple of questions for you Mr. Scott, if you would be so kind as to oblige me 1: Uncanny Valley was featured in your Top 25 Most Anticipated Games video, which unfortunately turned out to be a disappointment for you in the subsequent Game Dungeon review you made for the title. Assuming you've played any of the other titles in the list, have you had any more letdowns? Have any turned out to be as good as you hoped? 2: In your wildest dreams, which of the games or franchises you've covered in Game Dungeon do you think would make an awesome movie or TV series? I couldn't take my eyes off it. That footage was peculiarly mesmerising... :3
  2. Yeah how dare he have a different opinion?! The Swine! (I'm imagining that Lucitaur fellow has one or more deficiencies)
  3. English Murder by Sol Invictus Time is evil, BTG, think about it for a second. Eventually it takes away everything you love. And then it will take you!... [/CUE DRAMATIC PERCUSSION, CLOSE-UP OF MY FACE]
  4. ^ Species: Idichlugian Planet: Greetliio Classification: Post-Amphibious Lorisapien Humanoids Personality: By human standards the bodily and facial expressions of Idichlugians denotes hostility, and the tone of their simultaneously croaking/squeaking speech comes across as rude and ill-mannered. Despite these unfortunate misunderstandings Idichlugians are a broadly courteous and unfailingly polite race, but a race forever cursed to be brushed-off as unpleasant whilst they ask if visiting aliens would like to sit down and have a hot drink. What their homeworld looks like: Greetiio is a verdant and rather sodden world of marshland with varying levels of watery depths, but never reaching anything in size or scope of true oceans or lakes. In lieu of tree's are a multitudinous species of giant root vegetables and towering brassica-type plants (similar to Terran cabbages) that congregate into immense forests, which goes some way to draining the planets reserves of water, hence the aforementioned lack of seas or other large aqueous bodies. ~ Species: Planet: Classification: Personality: How does this species birth it's young?:
  5. 10/10, I think you deliberately get the last post in the thread when I'm about to visit the forum, just so you'll get full marks. :3 Thanks pal. Technically speaking it's a scorpion, but I appreciate the sentiment all the same... ;p Took me longer than I care to admit to figure out what was going on here. That's a substantial amount of effort you went to, just to get a cheap laugh. I fully approve, naturally...
  6. Educational In the best kind of way. I went to an art exhibition in Nottingham today surveying art and culture of the former Republic of Yugoslavia, a period broadly encompassing the 60's 70's and 80's. Very enlightening, conflating both my love of recent history and modern art.
  7. Sounds like my dream game! But seriously, your thread has roused my more self-reflexive and rigorously critical brain cells. I recently started to analyse the whole medium of open-world RPG style fare, largely because it's a game genre I happen to really like. That being said I eventually reach a point of apathy when playing them. I'm not a "completist" gamer, and I'm certainly no trophy munchkin (no offense to any avid trophy munchkins who might be reading this ;p) and part of the problem with open-world games is, irrespective how fascinating and awe-inspiring the setting, I invariably feel disassociated from the narrative because it's far too drawn out and arbitrarily structured. I'm concerned that I'm even peaking over the precipice of indifference for Fallout 4 now, despite it being an excellent title that I've enjoyed immeasurably since it was released. Maybe it's just an inevitable sobering of what was briefly an obsession, and a symptom of my own curiosity in several new and overlooked games I've acquired. I probably play it once a week now, as opposed to the several or more times a week I was bumming my way through the game nought but a month ago. I came to a somewhat depressing realisation regarding open-world games. They are the kind of game I invest the most amount of love, time and effort into exploring and playing - but as a result I get burned out on the title, more so than other games that I play casually yet piqued my interest for whatever reason.
  8. @ Ross Scott: If you're reading Excellent work Sir! On topic, I have to confess that I found the Moon Gaming videos a little underwhelming when I initially watched them. Play through videos are such a hit n' miss thing, even the channels I like tended to have shaky beginnings before finding their groove. Bringing Tom in on the Game Dungeon format breathed some genuine novelty into a series that I've never found to be boring or amusing - which is quite an achievement in of itself. I had to pause the video a couple times when Ross piped in on Tom's grumpily insightful commentary. "You have to press the button." "Tom, your head is round. You aren't thinking like a triangle."
  9. Why defend something you hate? Doesn't matter if it falls under fair use or if you think they're being hypocritical. People generally wont defend something they hate. I think it's part-and-parcel of having a courteous consensus regarding subjective taste. Whilst I broadly agree with Username's point regarding the hypocrisy and apparent demonstration of "double standards", I think the point you made about folks not defending one franchise over another is somewhat different to disliking or disagreeing with more abstract beliefs and opinions. I think what Username was recommending as a preferable attitude would be to say "I defend your right to appropriate material, even if we don't have the same taste in sources or fandoms", as opposed to the kind of conduct he described in his initial post. When the situation is presented in the manner Username has chosen to do, it does seem difficult to justify Youtuber's contradictions.

  11. Words to live by. When my career in straight up Gangsta' Rap takes off, I'm having this quote tattooed across my man boobs.
  12. I'd wear them everybody and describe my vivid experiences every day on a blog. Consequently I would become a billionaire. If I was behind you right now? I guess if he does get into power, I hope Britain consolidates against his policies and doesn't follow suite. I don't think we need to be even more conservative and Islamophobic than we already already are. In the short term it might sour relations with America's political classes and engender resentment in the countries nutcase elements, but hopefully the world will respond negatively to Trumps idiotic and offensively obvious policy of appealing to the lowest common denominator.
  13. Don't worry. I'm five minutes away from your house and I'm prepared to alleviate your boredom by reading a 3,652 page document regarding the EU's ambassadorial parking policies. In fact, I insist you let me in. I want to start an Anarcho-Naturist extremist revolutionary party, but I don't like camping and I'm afraid of getting hurt. What should I do?
  14. 8/10, whilst I'm more a Gregory Woods or Czesław Miłosz kind of guy in regards to poetry, I'm not so much of a snob that I can't appreciate something that actually rhymes! ;p That's unfortunate, because I'd estimate about 90% of the quotes I'll probably post here are going to be like this... :3 ~ "Throw a lucky man into water and he'll surface with a fish in his mouth." - Julian Tuwim
  15. 10/10, moar data pleaz.
  16. Heartwarming tale about a tired and cynical English teacher finding his vocation again. A student with rather specific issues with spelling (alwayz zpelling S'z with a Z) is given over to his council, which he reluctantly agrees to take on. Despite the initial awkwardness and generational conflict, the teacher soon comes to appreciate the youngsters eccentric creativity and starts advocating a less austere approach to spelling and grammar. 17. If I could high-five over the internet, I would :3 I wouldn't call myself a fan of Lady Gaga's music, but the hostility she engenders is bizarre. Looks somewhat like the Orochi from Legend of the Five Rings.
  18. Is your sister an un-house-trained dog? Or just younger? I hear ya' ;p I love looking after my two year cousin Anestis, and because I often babysit him I keep a few of his toys over at my flat. There is a big blue box of my old Monsters In My Pocket, his own box of old tiny plastic animals (he has better ones at home), a little wooden train set with tracks and a magnet-connected train carriages, a box with at least twenty books in it, a net bag of plastic balls and numerous other items that I keep under my stairs for just such occasions. I can guarantee that within five minutes upon him entering my flat, it will all be out and all over my home unless I goad him into tidying up after himself.

  21. Thinking beyond gaming and including other communities, I think people make the mistake of assuming that the worst aspects of gaming subculture are somehow representative of everyone who broadly falls under the demographic. It's a case of blaming a medium itself instead of calling out the conduct of individuals.
  22. No worries, I'm a piece of paper. Don't worry about my friend over there, he is just a pair scissors. Last night Ross appeared at my bedroom window and demanded I let him in? Should I be concerned?
  23. Species: Quwkoggen Planet: Quwk, an ancient artificial woodland planet of unknown age and origins. Classification: Necrotechnological Androsylvan Personality: Fiercely territorial, competent military strategists, doily making is a favoured past time. What is their society like?: Quwkoggen society centers around two overriding pursuits in line with their isolationist politics. Maintaining the integrity of their planetary systems borders, and simultaneously planting and cultivating the next generation of semi-robotic seedlings to bolster the ranks. Whilst not exactly hateful or even especially violent, they mistrust outsiders with an exception to those few species that deliver their arts and crafts magazine subscriptions. ~ Species: Planet: Classification: Personality: Language:
