A remarkably fun space shooter, similar to Freelancer. It has a few differences, but the overall feel is that of a slightly compressed universe (more stuff in it, less empty space, and faster travel) Freelancer.
-
Unfortunately, this game really hits on some of my phobias... I literally couldn't bring myself to go into the deepest parts because of the lack of any illumination and the really fast enemies.
-
While initially fun, it gets boring after about the second hour of play... Nothing really left to do at that point. You're either dead or sitting pretty on a self-sustaining colony by then.
-
I already purchased this on Steam. I actually saw it on Imgur, and whoever was running the account actually conversed with me saying that Freelancer (at one time my favorite game, and it's still on my top 10 list) was a significant inspiration. Definitely not a GaaS. (entirely offline singleplayer)

A note about serious topics (and others)
BTGBullseye replied to Ross Scott's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Sounds like maybe someone got reported for being opposed to someone else's viewpoints... Or for being a dick... -
Posting this before heading to take a shower and get ready for work.

Gambling with real money in virtual casinos has been around for decades... It's just included in GTA now.

The Division 2. Had to reinstall Windows because my <2 month old NVMe died... At least the volumetric fog and antialiasing glitch is gone... Averaging 90 FPS with all settings maxed @1080p.
-
You need to install a script blocker then. Can read it just fine if you block their scripts. Your blatant racism is not going to help you here.

Ok, so I got my RX 5700 XT, and got it set up and going... Got a nice fan curve and undervolt going... And my NVMe decided to die. 3 months after purchase, and less than 2 months of use, and it's dead. Lesson learned, should stick to Mushkin. HP doesn't have the serial or part number in their support site's warranty database, so I can't do anything about this failure until Monday at the earliest. (and even then, I'll have to call their phone system, because they ONLY have automated stuff on their website) Right now I'm backing up my laptop's Mushkin SSD so I can use that as a temp drive, since I'm sure as hell not going to leave the other $1200 worth of parts idle just because HP can't make a decent NVMe drive.

2998 - Someone skipped ahead by 2...

Ah... Apart from the singing, I've heard all the lines from other Vorts... Must be because I never run unmodded anymore.

Racism is remarkably difficult to actually determine, but it's really not anywhere near as bad as you seem to think it is. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2013/05/17/5-insights-on-the-racial-tolerance-and-ethnicity-maps-from-an-ethnic-conflict-professor/

Wait, which Vort are you talking about?

The Division 2. Tested my new RX 5700 XT on it. Seems the volumetric fog and/or antialiasing is glitched, as it causes the game to lock to 10 FPS instead of using the full power of the CPU/GPU.

My computer fans. (have to make sure it stays quiet since the new 5700 XT has a bit loud of a fan)
-
Working on tweaking my new RX 5700 XT to get the best performance with the lowest heat.
-
I have my new 5700 XT... Getting 60 FPS minimum on maxed out settings in all games, despite being heavily undervolted/power starved. The fan has not ramped up over inaudible levels outside of stress tests or benchmarks. (regular gaming doesn't stress it that much, even when it's at 100% usage)

Games that you are happy made it into the Game List
BTGBullseye replied to DuendeInexistente's topic in Gaming in general
I was glad Battlezone 98 Redux made the list... It's sad that mixing RTS and FPS in a game is so rarely done, considering how easy it really is to do in games. -
I have many of this list either already in my game library, or on my wishlists... It's a good list.
-
Nice. I shall be looking through the list, and giving many a try once my RX 5700 XT gets here tomorrow.

Conan Exiles really isn't an MMO... It's an RPG survival game, with most of the focus being on survival.

Let's talk about NPC intelligence
BTGBullseye replied to EightInchNails's topic in Gaming in general
I dunno why, but the AI in The Division 2 seems quite good... Different types of AI for different types of NPC. Civlians are extremely conservative and hide in cover almost exclusively. Melee drug-hyped NPCs just rush right up to you. Melee with shields tend to weave through knee-high or higher cover to protect their legs until they get to you. Melee tanks just run right for you and murderize you, even at the lowest difficulty level. Archery snipers use cover, and only pop their heads up to acquire you and fire. Gun snipers use cover and snipe or use abilities, and will run away if you get too close. They also tend to move from cover to cover after shooting. Grenadiers tend to stay within throwing distance, and will hide in cover until about the time the grenade explodes, then fire and move cover. Assault-type varies based on faction, but tends to get more reckless the lower your health percentage compared to theirs. (like walking instead of running, out of cover towards your position, but runs back to cover if you heal and fire at them) Flamethrower-type guys use cover to get near you, then just suppress you until you die. (this includes riot foam guys) LMG guys just overwhelm you with bullets. They use suppressing fire, cover, and even prone firing positions. Once their armor is gon, they use cover pretty exclusively.
