Rollercoaster Tycoon is such a time sink. I got that game when I was about 8 in a box of cereal. The only things that took more time than it was Zoo Tycoon, Age of Empires and Dungeon Siege.

You just proved my point. Minecraft is a great game, what makes it amazing? Great gameplay. You can remove every single other thing you mentioned and it's a good game. Now imagine Bioshock with "great story and setting, good/fitting art design as well as decent graphics" except it controls like a 90's FPS and you get to use a wrench throughout the whole game. Wouldn't you get bored? Sure a good story and unique artistic style contribute to making the game great, but it doesn't matter if your interface with that game is incredibly bad.

If I want a story I'll read a book, the best game stories I've played through would be mediocre at best if they were a novel. It's a game, the one thing it needs is good gameplay. Actually, apart from the Dark Elf. The voice actors for the different species are the exact same people

There are many peaceful and legitimate reasons for owning a gun. To name a few: marksmanship (sports), hunting, self-defense. What's the purpose of a baseball bat? It's used for killing other people; it's easy to obtain, deadly, and a child could literally use it with great effect. It's mostly used to play baseball, but I'm conveniently ignoring this fact. The only guns that are legal in NZ are the ones that are used for hunting and marksmanship, pistols are mostly banned because they are used to kill people. Pistols can be obtained but it takes months and there are very stringent regulations.

I can access Youtube on a the art computers, none of them can get onto AF though
