This was the sound of all things good to me from age 7 to 12.

It still gives me goosebumps, I love it.

I like it for some reason..

EDIT: Interesting topic btw, I like the older generation (xbox, ps2, and gamecube) start ups more then the new ones (xbox 360, ps3, wii)

Ps2 for me. Probably heard this thousands of times. I especially love the way the PS2 logo forms out of nothing really fast. So simple and pretty.

Same as eedobaba. The PS2 startup screen is ridiculously nostalgic.

I have a Windows 7 now, but I will forever love the Windows XP start up sound.

7 seconds of pure nostalgia.

You beat me to it. But tbh i didn't use 95 for that long. So for me it is:

The ps2 was definitely the first one that came to my mind. But listening to the Windows 98 startup brought back so many memories, so definitely one of those two.

So many memories of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Animal Crossing! Definitely my favorite.

I thought about that one, but not alot of memories with my original xbox. I got the original xbox late while I had the PS2 and gamecube for a long while. It did have a cool start up though. :)

I don't own a PS3 but I think it's my favorite start up sound. It sounds like the gate to heavens opening up and I'm gonna see a giant hand going through my TV saying, "Join me my son..."

That noise made me want to kill someone, I hated it with a passion.

System startup? I think the Gamecube has it right. But for a game? Borderlands, I Love the little rock bit, and then "2K". I think it works well.

I like the sound when DOS starts... Namely, no sound whatsoever. Win95 takes a close second.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.
