Hey, just a random curious question to you all - How did you find Ross Scott? :D

I found him by Freeman's Mind... Didn't realize his Civil Protection was a thing for a while because he was on Machinima for a brief time. But now, I've pretty much watched all of his videos. XD I love them so much, no matter what it is.

"Ross, this is nothing. WHAT YOU NEED to be playing is S***flinger 5000." - Ross Scott talking about himself.

PM me if you have any questions or concerns! :D

I think because I was always watching the G-Man Squad and other Half-Life machinima Freeman's Mind suddenly popped up in the Related Videos thing, so one day I decided to give it a try and I have loved it ever since!

You must have a sexy dome shape ;)

I don't get it, but I'm sure it was a compliment. Thank you!

I was watching video's of some guy on youtube playing Dead Space(I think?) and speaking from Isaac's point of view. It was pretty entertaining yet one of the comments was "still not as funny as Freeman's Mind" which at the time annoyed me greatly cuz I hate when people do things like that. But it was half life and I was curious anyways and then watched all of the 20-something video's out at the time in once sitting.

Edit: So my check from Blizzcon arrived and I'm allowing myself one new game purchase and I'm torn between preordering Overwatch and buying FO4.

How did you find Ross Scott?

I started off by watching 'Chell's Mind' by CyhAnide, which I may have run into via another forum, don't remember. Like Rarity, I think I found comment references to Freeman's Mind, and eventually found the series, at the time published on the Machinima channel. I eventually watched all of the available episodes and generally loved it. When I reached the end I was a bit put out as it seemed to have just ended randomly, but I'd occasionally re-search the pirate Episode, and eventually I found the newest episode on Ross's channel (then still called 'chilledsanity') in the related column. The rest, they say, is history.

I was watching some Half-Life machinima videos, among other machinima videos (I think of the Halo series), then I saw that a "Freeman's Mind" was recommended to me (don't remember what episode), and I remember thinking I was going to hate it, that it was going to be stupid like all the other machinima videos (back then, I didn't know what 'machinima' was, or that I was watching machinima videos. I thought it was going to be no better than those

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yTfDLG1LDc. At any rate, I decided to give it a try, but first I had to find episode 1, which I did, watched it, and immediately fell in love with it.

I remember that me and my brother saw a series named "Civil Protection" while watching various machinima at the time.

Like Binky said-the rest is history.

I remember seeing the name "Freeman's Mind" on the related videos section when I started watching machinimas(I was into Das Bo Schitt and Janus Syndicate at the time). Out of curiosity I watched the then-recent episode which was 10.5 and I honestly thought the series was over at that point (I didn't check the date). A year later, I suddenly remembered Freeman's Mind and decided to check it out again. To my surprise, there were 28 episodes that time so I decided to give it another shot and went to a marathon, just to catch up with the series. After that, I saw Civil Protection and I remember being amazed, especially with the animation, and the fact that Mike sounded like the guy from Freeman's Mind. I found out both of them were made by this guy named Ross Scott and I got hooked since then.

Welp, now what?

Ah. I've got to make an announcement...

Unfortunately, Jeb will be out of circulation for a few days. She has come down with an infection and is undergoing a treatment in hospital. Will probably be out for a couple of days...

She also says she is sorry but I can't see why she should be...

Regards

Holy shit. If I'm not here tomorrow, presume I'm dead.

I swear that was a joke… I didn’t actually think I’d be on a line of problems that could have potentially caused my literal death!

However, I’m back guys! And I’m alive!

Sorry for not being able to do my moderator duties! :S Shit went down - that’s the short version. X3 The long version I hope will make you guys learn from my mistakes! Or… at least learn from a mistake that I was about to make, that really could have cost me. Half of this is my own personal rambling, but the other half is an actual legit warning to you guys:

So… here I was, thinking that even though I can’t really walk or think, that I’d be able to study for my exam, go do it the next day, then go to work. Nope nope nope! I ended up sleeping till 3pm (after going to bed at 1am), stuck in bed from severe headaches and stomach pains. And later when I went to eat, I had to sit down on the kitchen floor because I was about to faint and throw up. But noooo, I was STILL convinced that I’d be better by tomorrow, still convinced that I could get my studying done. Well, my mother got home a little later that night. All I told her was; “I don’t feel well.” Cause... I’m an idiot. She gave me dinner, I ate it, but I was still in agony. So, after getting advice from Vappy to just go and tell my mother what’s wrong, I go and tell her... ...and then immediately vomit into the sink and almost faint right there! One ticket straight to the hospital!

Got in, did some testing, turns out I had a severe infection that - if left untreated - could actually ‘poison’ my bloodstream... AKA = Septicemia, AKA = Fatal. Had to stay in the hospital, had an IV, a drip going, took a bunch of ibuprofen… first time having an IV, first time wearing a hospital gown too. The doctors were great, the food wasn’t actually that bad... but being in a hospital felt so uncomfortable. When I first got in, I could barely walk. :S Hurt to breathe, cough, sneeze or yawn, massive headaches, pale as a ghost, felt nauseous, had stomach pains, had a terrible fever, and my side aaaached. So... pretty awful. I wasn’t allowed to eat anything just yet, but it’s not like I wanted to, felt sooo sick. I felt bad for the doctors who had to escort my slow ass to my own little area, walking was just soooo excruciating, would make my stomach and side hurt like a BITCH. Finally though, when I was allowed to eat, I had dinner there, just something small, had breakfast the next day, was feeling so nauseous though. The antibiotics + infection both dislike my stomach. Oof. I was so hungry, but at the same time so siiick. I ended up having to skip lunch to go for an ultrasound, and whatever came from that would determine whether I’d have to stay longer or not. I wouldn't be surprised if I find I've lost a kilogram of weight or something... however... I got lucky with the ultrasound results! I had a very low blood pressure and a high temperature which concerned the doctors a little, but my condition improved over the course of the day. I got the all-clear to go home later that night! And this morning, oh my gosh, I can walk! :D It feels so good! I was so pleasantly surprised, quick recovering! Got up on my feet, doesn’t hurt to stand up, an overnight miracle. XP But uh, even though I’m out of the hospital, I still have the infection, but the antibiotic tablets I have is gonna take care of all that. The side effects make me feel sick, so I lose my appetite a bit, but yoghurt helps. :3

But geez, can you imagine? Attempting to do an exam, whilst having the chance of having my entire body shut down right then and there? *shivers* I’m really glad I listened to Vappy, glad my mother took me to the hospital. I missed my exam, and I didn’t get a good grade because of it, but I’m alive! Health > Grades.

So what to take from this? Well, the moral of my story is: “Don’t try to tough it out like Jeb did!” XD Jeb could have died if she didn’t go to the hospital, because the only treatment to the infection was one supplied by the hospital. If you feel really sick, just feel shitty in general, go see a darn doctor and don’t try to wait it out. If it’s really bad, go see a hospital. If I waited any longer without hospital care, the infection would have just gotten worse and worse, and one or more of my organs would have probably died. X3 Oh boy. Let this whole massive post be a big bloody warning to you all, cause I care about you all too. XD Thank you for the ‘get-well’ wishes by the way, I feel very loved! :D

I still get the occasional headache and stomach pains, but it’s not as bad as before. I feel so much better now. If I keep taking my medication, I should be completely fine in a few days. :D

Seriously though, don’t be an idiot Jeb and actually go see some medical help if you feel terrible. X3 Don’t even think about going anywhere until you know what’s wrong.

But ah, once again, thanks for caring everyone! :D

@Daniel: I was going to say; “Old but gold”, but it’s not even that old. X3 It feels like I watched it two years ago though, I swear…

Yeah, definitely. Glad you're okay! False alarms themselves are still scary but finding out you actually had something severe and potentially fatal... yikes. :(
