ROSS’S GAME DUNGEON: AIDA’S STRANGE CHRISTMAS

Here’s the Christmas Game Dungeon episode! This wasn’t my original plan for the episode, but it ended up being a natural fit. New non-Christmas Game Dungeon coming in a few days!

I think the toy gun wasn't a gun that's a toy, but rather a gun that shoots toys, hence why it would kill people/goblins. It also explains why it's a turret-like thing you sit in instead of something hand held.

Thanks so much, Ross. This is EXACTLY what I wanted for Christmas.

Come the full moon, the bat flies whose boiling blood shall stem the tide.

"I don't trust a man that doesn't have something strange going on about him, cause that means he's hiding it from you. If a man's wearing his pants on his head or if he says his words backwards from time to time, you know it's all laid out there for you. But if he's friendly to strangers and keeps his home spick-and-span, more often than not he's done something even his own ma couldn't forgive." -No-bark Noonan

This is pretty tangential but that cartoon you showed briefly has a *dope* opening theme.

Can someone tell me where the scene with the iron fist crashing the goblet is from (~16:14)? Is it a scene from Army of Darkness I have forgotten about?

Gotta be honest, I was expecting you to play Cthulhu Saves Christmas for some reason, even though you haven't played many RPG games on the channel. This game's a very interesting find, however.

One of the worst game dungeon series, thanks for a lump of coal Ross. And thank you for turning game dungeon to shit.

I thought it was par the course. These fringe games really stand out. It's like each is nation unto itself

There have got to be more diplomatic ways of conveying this to the person without whom Game Dungeon wouldn't have turned into anything...

This episode really showacases how much Ross hates christmas videogames. At this point I'd advise you to do like Mandalore and just do whatever game you like.

I am reasonably sure that that is from Army of Darkness.

Also, I think both Ross and Mandalore's approach to holiday videos are valid. You can either try something *very unique*, or try to end the year on a good note. I liked this episode, for what it's worth, and I'm fine with this being a more cozy, shorter episode.

Having seen all of Yahtzee Croshaw's games made in the same engine this one was, makes me realize that all games made with this engine have a similar look to them. Pretty sure that Garfield game Brutalmoose made a video one was made in the same engine, and even it kinda has a similar look to this one. Maybe it's whatever art program that comes with the engine or the resolution the engine requires.

And to clarify, I'm talking about the Adventure Game Studio engine, or AGS.

It could also just be that all the examples I've seen are at a similar level of artistic skill so that's just the end result when you pair that with the engine.

P.S. Considering the bad ending to the game, maybe the message is "Do all of Santa's work for him, or else he'll be pissed off and screw you over as retribution."

Here are some examples of games that were also made in AGS:

I mean yeah, as far as presentation goes, they're all 2D point & click adventure games. But art direction makes a huge difference.
