  1. Jurassic Park. The story is so interesting that I sometimes forget to pay attention for quick time events lol Basically that's all the game is.
  2. I don't think it'd be a waste of money to upgrade your rig with a graphics card. The AMD Athlon II x4 was introduced in mid 2011, so it's only a little over a year old. Personally, I'd also upgrade the CPU cooler, or at the very least replace the thermal compound since HP probably went with a low quality compound that may make things difficult for the processor sooner than they should. You'll just want to make sure your power supply has the connections necessary to power whatever graphics card you choose. Edit: You may also want to check HP's policy on user-upgrades and how that may affect the warranty (if you still have one). I'm not sure if HP is one of those companies that will void your warranty for adding a graphics card.
  3. The only Battlefield game I really liked was Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, but that's because the hotswap mechanic was fun as shit to play with in the campaign. Unless 4 brings it back or something that's just as fun, I'll pass on it, too. Then again, I'm probably not in the market for these games. In fact, I'm... pretty sure of that.
  4. Banned because Garrus isn't sexy enough to be Irish.
  5. Eh, all in all it was much cheaper than buying five new retail games for my console by quite a bit. Was it an expensive sit? Hell yeah, but considering I work a full-time job and don't treat myself to nice things that often (for the record, I bought 2 games in 2011 and 1 game in 2012 before the summer sale), I don't feel bad about spending as much as I did here, considering I won't need to buy another game until next summer, if even that soon
  6. I just now got around to trying Bastion. I only played it for 15 minutes, but I'll definitely be playing it again.
  7. Banned for not bouncing coins off it. Do it, wimp!
  8. Playing Sudoku and chatting.
  9. Nice review! I'm not surprised by the relatively short length of the game, since it reminds me a lot of Flower, which was another short but amazing game.
  10. I definitely have mixed feelings about the idea. While, like Alyxx, I enjoy the elements that make up most of video game-based movies, I can also see this as being wasted potential for a good movie. I'd rather the film be animated much like the Appleseed movies, but not like the Dante's Inferno or Dead Space flicks, as opposed to being shot in live action. If they do go the live action route, I hope they use a yellowish filter throughout the movie. One that makes everything kind of look like the scenes on the Xillian ship from Godzilla: Final Wars. Just my gut reaction, will probably comment more as more info is leaked/released.
  11. I'm no longer using the steam account I originally posted here. I changed to a different one because the original was linked to my PSN account and only had one game on it, a freebie no less. This one is my permanent account now, so feel free to add me again because I might not add everyone who originally had me. Nothing personal, just most of you change your profile nickname too frequently for me to keep track of who's who these days. Anyway, I'm part of the AF steam group, and my avatar is the same. Otherwise look up at Obsidian2332.
  12. Banned for not dealing with it.
  13. I want to record a riff track over this commercial... so... badly...
  14. Please, tell me that was a typo, instead of the worst pun ever made in a video-game title. On a side note, got Payday: The Heist, my expectations were low for it since some people bash at it for being "buggy" and "repetitive", but so far Im having a blast with it. No I swear to you, that's the actual fucking title. I'm not even kidding. They make a ton of jokes about it because they think they're cute and funny but I promise you it isn't. The game solves all the puzzles for you and combat is literally just blocking an enemy attack then swinging randomly. why does this cost money? (also Billy, Painkiller is the manliest game ever made. Appreciate its girth.) I just realized that I have this game in my collection from the last humble bundle Not that it's a good thing, since I bought the bundle for Amnesia, Bastion, and Psychonauhts, with the others being nice bonuses. Anyway, on-topic, I guess the last game I bought would be... err... stupid summer sales, I always go through my "game savings" within a few days. I would list the ones I've bought, but I'd rather not for my own comfort's sake. The last one I downloaded, though, was the Darkness II.
  15. I was using an Antec cooling pad for my old HP when I was using laptops, found here: http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=72&pid=22 This one draws power from a USB port on your laptop, however the cable also provides a passthru port so you don't actually lose a port when using the pad. However, Antec has since, by the looks of it, added more solutions. I like the looks of the Notebook Cooling Stand, found here http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=2488&pid=22
  16. I only do decaff coke on tits, so that's a no go :\
  17. So THAT's why we don't have coke on tits yet...
  18. Oddly enough, I don't think this was true of the original Half-Life when the PS2 port was released. Half-Life: Source, imo anyway, reset that status quo, although I think the PS2 version is still flashier graphically speaking, not to mention it also include the Decay co-op. I remember having a lot of fun with Gunman Chronicles. I'd mention Serious Sam or Duke Nukem, but those franchises are hardly PC-exclusive these days. Oh, I still love playing Opposing Force.
  19. Because Drake didn't have THE BABY!
  20. Who remembers the Crash Pizza Hut commercials? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLbYMZoF3QY Anyway, I also remember Spyro as being a mascot for the original playstation, since the first three games were playstation only. Ever since then, Sony has had a ton of 'mascots' for their exclusive titles, I won't be bothered to list most of them out.
  21. Why windows 7 ultimate over professional? Unless you need to 35 language support (which you might), you'd be saving some money just going with professional. I personally don't take W7U's encryption into consideration, since there are free programs that do the same thing just as well, if not better. Like Ross said, don't skimp on your power supply. That being said, that corsair PSU is very good. The only other thing you could do is look at other fully modular power supplies, but those would be considerably more expensive. Unless you're planning on running high-end graphics and processors, you probably won't need more than 750w. Sapphire GPUs are good choices, however I'd also look at the MSI cards, since they're excellent coolers and are very good with overclocking. You can definitely get away with using a CRT monitor if you wanted to, unless you already have that 24" TV. If it's a modern set, it might have a better resolution than the CRT monitor, but I can't say for sure. All-in-all, you have a good starter build going on.
  22. Banned for probably having two first names.
  23. I honestly don't recall the story entirely since I wasn't in the AF community at the time it happened, but again, how's it related to the thread? We're just talking personal preference between the two.
  24. and...? Sorry, don't see how this is relevant to the type of CPU you prefer, unless you're using the anecdote about Ross' mishap to say you prefer AMD... in which case, you can't really like any computer component, as there aren't any without 1 or more horror stories behind them.
  25. For cheap builds or HTPCs, I'd prefer AMD. The integrated graphics, at least comparing to the HD3000 of Sandy Bridge (haven't looked for comparisons for the newer Ivy Bridge HD4000 yet). For the price/function, it's hard to beat for computers when little is expected of them. However, I personally only use intel chips. I prefer nvidia graphics cards over AMD/ATI (something some AMD boards don't support for SLI, or not at all). The performance really starts to pound AMD once you get above the 200 USD mark. Plus, as BTG pointed out, Intel chips are great overclockers, even Ivy Bridge, which tends to get a bit hotter than Sandy.
