I personally prefer to not do Gmod much at all.... lol

This is me playing Gmod in a nutshell lately:

 

1.) Reinstall it

 

2.) Launch it

 

3.) Wait for updates to finish

 

4.) Game crashes

 

5.) Repeat steps 2-5 until I get frustrated

 

6.) Uninstall game

 

7.) Time passes, I forget why I uninstalled it, get in mood to reinstall

 

8.) Repeat steps 1-8

Are you installing multiple addons? Try unsubscribing them all and then resubscribing a very small number at a time.

I think he can't get the game itself to work at all without any addons.

Sometimes on my end if I try to take down too many addons at once (or even a few big addons) Garry's Mod will lock up and crash and take Steam with it. It's fairly annoying when that happens.
