  1. Tribes 2 is free online.
  2. Reviving this thread, we need some Thief discussion. GOG is now stocking both Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age, bundled with a load of goodies such as the soundtracks, some avatars, wallpapers, the manual etc. at a reasonably cheap price considering how brilliant the two games are. During the Steam sale I bought Deadly Shadows and was quite disappointed by the consoley sized levels and added unneeded crap like loot glint and third person. Thief 4 coming soon as well, from the same people that made Human Revolution- a fairly good game that didn't quite live up to the Deus Ex name but was miles better than most of the stuff that came out that year. As long as I get huge open levels like the first two Thief games and a well created steampunk setting I should be content, but if there is hide-behind-the-cover mechanics and forced third person segments like Human Revolution had I'm going to be disappointed.
  3. Music is great, had the same composer as Deus Ex and Unreal.
  4. 1 month until the Steam Summer sales. Art thou wallets ready?
  5. Been on PirateBay lately, BTG? ;P
  6. Anyone playing this game? I've played it off and on since I bought it on Steam Sales for $5. Bloody brilliant co-op shooter, one of the best FPS games I've played in a long time. Everything from the setting to the gunplay is so unique and satisfying that I always come back to this game after I've dropped it. Obligatory. ON-7v4qnHP8
  7. Checkmate, athiests.
  8. I meant Ultimate Doom.
  9. Well you've got no games and a tiny resolution. So yes a portable PS3.
  10. I included Doom 1 in Final Doom.
  11. Yeah that's pretty much what happened to me, though I believe there's a way to subscribe only to one series. I did so with the "All your History" series.
  12. So I've now played through every game, for me it goes (from best to worst) Quake Quake 3 Arena Doom II Quake IV Final Doom Quake 2 Doom 3
  13. So now we're a few months on from the release I think it's safe to say that this was yet another flop from Sony.
  14. Random bump. Just got to playing this again, really fun game for what it is. I've spent a bit too much time on it seeing as I can play it on the school computers.
  15. 0/10 the correct answer was *Frumple*, meet me after class.
  16. Not really, people latch onto to popular stuff to fit in. Society's problem is society itself.
  17. That's because it's so much harder to tell a convincing story in an interactive environment, not to mention the fact that good writing never seems to generate the word-of-mouth that it does for movies. Look throughout the past few years and have a look at games praised for their story: you have Mass Effect, a space opera with story on par with Star Trek, Metal Gear Solid, an incredibly confusing spy story that's more cutscene than game, Bioshock, Portal and GTA: San Andreas of all games. I haven't experienced a single game that has story as compelling or engaging as child's books such as David Copperfield or the Coral Island, for a game to be as well written as something like Nineteen Eighty-Four or Lord of the Flies seems nigh impossible. At a stretch I'd say games like Grim Fandango and Portal are as well written as any comedy movie, but complex themes are almost always handled ham-fistedly in every case, games like Silent Hill 2 being extremely few and far between.
  18. Just try searching up a anthropomorphic character from your childhood (bugs bunny, digimon etc.). You get more porn than actual images, much like searching up any MLP character's name.
  19. It's hardly a phenomenon, terrible fandoms are part of the internet. MLP is just as bad as the Naruto, Furry, Harry Potter, Final Fanatasy and Sonic fandoms, people like to obsess over things and be a part of a community, even if those communities are cancerous, obnoxious and repugnant. I forgot Homestuck.
  20. Have you tried loading the chapter entitled depot again? Not a previous save. (Don't press "New Game" though, I just overwrote my saved game testing that out). Here's the thread to fix that bug- http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1199022
  21. Happened to both myself and my friend, I fell through the world and then got autosaved under the map. Go on the Steam forums, you just have to restart the map and be facing a certain direction when you crash.
