  1. Yes. Install Avast, and then turn off Defender. It'll complain, but it'll work. Then just whitelist your stuff with Avast, and you're good.
  2. Ah, possibly. Or maybe he's thinking it's the Tal Shiar...
  3. Company Of Heroes 2 The Ardennes Assault DLC is worth every penny I didn't pay for it. If I had known it had a large strategic map to choose which enemy groups to engage and with what forces, I'd've bought it back when it first released.
  4. Might want to give the Wasteland series a go then... They have a lot of split decisions that are morally ambiguous. (it was even a major selling point)
  5. Well, he did have money, and that is one of the major credentials.
  6. That would be China... We're more like the Cardassians, but we need an Obsidian Order.
  7. Nah, yeah, nah.
  8. It's either a map running in demo mode on whatever engine, or just a regular spectator mode video. Just a "green screen" replace for the background.
  9. Yeah, haven't you heard, they're planning on making so people can serve a thousand year prison sentence in just a few hours... A few years later we'll have FTL travel and the matrix because I'll volunteer to test it out, and I'm positive I can invent both in 1000 years.

  11. Yeah, nah.
  12. Seems the former is probably needed.
  13. Well, it's made by the same people that made The Witcher series, so probably... I never played those game, so I can't be sure.
  14. Nah, it'll be fun when they finally lock this thread because we're moving to direct neural interfacing through the matrix...
  15. You won't let him tell you what to do, you'll have no fun if you want!

  17. Subnautica Below Zero Deep Rock Galactic Ancient Domains Of Mystery Sunless Skies
  18. It's quite good, and anything I tell you about it will be major spoilers, especially since the first couple main missions are essentially the tutorial covered in the story. (they don't feel like tutorials nearly as much as the vast majority of games, like a less handholdy version of the tower climb in Far Cry 2) When people say stuff about "the world" in regards to CP2077, they include the story, since there are several very comprehensive and detailed stories couched in "sidequests" that end up being equivalent to main storylines in most games. Think of each as an entire D&D campaign, (though not hindered by scheduling conflicts) and each mission as a session in that campaign.
  19. I sat on a waiting list for 3 months for a watercooled 3080, then the day all reports pointed to the stock returning around the same time NEXT generation's GPUs were scheduled to start coming out, I dropped my waiting lists and instead got a nice watercooler for my 5700XT. Gained significant performance, and drastically reduced noise, all for significantly less than I would've paid for a new card, and what I have now can still do 60FPS or better at max settings on any game I have or am planning to get.
  20. No it wasn't.
  21. EA has multiple times as well. Several more than Steam has, and several years prior to when Steam even existed for the first ones. That's because it isn't "rent". It's a perpetual licence, meaning the moment you download it, it's the same as from any other digital store or disc. Rent requires you to pay on a regular basis for the permission to use the item, which is not the primary business model of Steam. (even if they do allow subscription games to be sold on the platform) The only difference is if you count Steam's DRM system as something that EA doesn't have a similar product for. (which they definitely do) Untrue, you merely require Steam to download them. (and since that's free with no personally identifiable information required, not an issue) And Steam does not require it to be included in the games that are on their platform. They provide a minimally invasive DRM system if the game makers want to use it, and that has actually significantly helped the situation, rather than harm it. (especially since Steam has outright stated in legal contracts that they will issue patches to remove that DRM if the store were to ever shut down, something not possible with other DRMs) Just like with physical store refunds, you get store credit unless it's very special circumstances. Try returning an open game to Walmart and demanding cash sometime. At least with Steam you don't have to drive to the store to return it. Clear violations of the forum's code of conduct.
  22. That's what you think.
