Civilization Problems

I am not an optimist about our global future. This section is devoted towards topics that I think have the potential to create serious problems for 1st-world countries in our lifetime, if not the decade. While I think peak oil is one of the largest problems we'll face in the near future, other examples are an economic crash due to massive debt, overpopulation, future food production, etc. However, if you're one of those people who thinks the world will end in 2012 because the Mayans said so, don't post here.
